In Round 3, The Buccaneers Pick A Versatile Offensive Lineman

April 30th, 2021

Notre Dame tackle/guard/center Robert Hainsey

The No. 95 overall pick in the NFL Draft is in to our beloved Buccaneers.

It’s Robert Hainsey, the right tackle out of Notre Dame. He’s played guard, center and tackle, attended the Senior Bowl and only had two sacks allowed and no penalties last year. Hainsey was a four-year starter in college and he looks like he has the body of a center at the NFL level.

Ryan Jensen’s future replacement? Maybe. But Hainsey, at least, looks like a guy who can learn all positions and will have time to develop.

A classic Jason Licht kind of pick.

I was enamored with the Wisconsin Whitewater dude but Hainsey is more of a sure thing. Again, JL has my blessing. Like the pick.

  2. Erick Says:

    2 time Captain as well

  11. Hope springs eternal Says:

First a defense line man, and now an offense line man. Plus a rookie qb for development. All good! Hoping for a run stuffer,, a line backer and a kick returner too. Filling the back up holes nicely so far. Anything more will be icing on the cake.

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Did I read this right…..No penalties during his entire collegiate career.
    That’s amazing.

  13. August 1976 Buc Says:

Bucs strengthening their foundations, solid move. Started with the Pass Rush, and now the O Line . Just plain common sense if you like winning in the NFL. Throw in a wild card Trask pick in the “NFL QB crap shoot” that drafting a QB is. Solid Draft so far. GO BUCS!!!!!

  14. Gordon Says:

All the picks they have made are all great and will help them win the Super Bowl again!

JL has an excellent track record with choosing OL. Let’s gooooo!

  17. OGBUCC Says:

I’m in love with the picks. With the talent pool they have to learn from our young Bucs should be able to transition well. Just don’t want to see no BucBandwagoneers trying to fit in. 🙌🤷🏿‍♂️

  18. Bucs Guy Says:

    Love the pick.

  19. Brandon Says:

Was a little surprised to see JL pick a big school OL in round 3. We’re used to him grabbing D2 or 3 guys here. Then again, those guys usually stand out in the Senior Bowl. Perhaps that’s the key. Four year starter, captain, position versatility, he is not a physical specimen… but neither is Jensen or Cappa and they are very good. This could be a very good pick for us.

  20. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Did he play left tackle?

  21. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    Center
