Bruce Arians Names Six Team Leaders

April 19th, 2021

Bucco Bruce Arians is big on leadership and believes it’s vital to have it within each position group.

Joe thinks leadership is often confused with talent and work ethic, but obviously leadership matters. So since Arians was naming names of leaders during his last Bucs Total Access show, Joe figured sharing is a good idea.

The question posed to Arians was about what guys have shown growth as leaders. Arians first mentioned Ali Marpet and Ryan Jensen, and how both those guys are “a given.” He put Tom Brady in the same boat and then added a surprise, noting Leonard Fournette emerged as a leader when the playoffs kicked in.

Arians praised Devin White for growing greatly in that area. “We knew he would,” Arians said.

And the last guy getting leadership love was Carlton Davis for having “grown a bunch” as the season moved on.

Joe thought that was especially cool to hear about Davis. Not every player can recover from a horrid game like Davis had against Tyreek Hill during the Bucs-Chiefs November game at The Licht House.

    ……………and LVD????

What about giving some love to LVD???????

Bucco Brucie is growing more senile by each passing day since the SB

Bucco Brucie needs to hurry up and reitre and let Todd Bowles run the show if he keeps on making stupid commentary like this publicly.

  2. David Says:

It’s not a knock on LVD. He is not as vocal as Davis and White and JPP on defense. Nothing wrong with that.

  3. Anonymous Says:

It says emerged as leaders. LVD was already a leader .

  4. geno711 Says:

Year after year – I have heard that LVD is a great ball player but never been a good leader. Some guys just are not leaders. He can be a mentor and a person with a knowledge base as well as a great skill set but never a natural leader.

    I am ok with that.

  5. Steven007 Says:

Anthem, you’re a better poster when you hibernate. Your team, supposedly, just won the Super bowl. And you’re complaining about the coach making some off the hand comments during the off-season? I think resigning LVD is a clear sign that they love the guy.

  6. Medicated Pete Says:

We’re good at all 22 positions. When can ANY team in NFL history say that?

  7. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

Sounds to me like Arians is referring to vocal leaders, which are more apparent because they draw attention. We don’t know what LVD is doing or saying during the week. But all Bucs fans know that dude leads by example on Sundays.

  8. Swampbuc Says:

Suh told LVD he was a great leader after the SB. But yeah what would he know about it.

  9. Robert Says:

    Where is AB’s name?

  10. Mitch Says:

No need to get twisted up over LVD not being included in that list. The question was who has shown growth* in leadership? Not who are your leaders on the team. LVD has developed from a quiet lead by example type to a vocal leader in the locker room the past few years. It’s been stated by many players, coaches, and media. No worries.

  11. BUCFAN4LIFE Says:

AB didn’t “diss” LVD . The question was about which players grew as leaders . Not about which players get a “C” patch on their jersey . I believe LVD owns that “C” patch on Defense .

  12. Adrienne Dalton Says:

Is Bruce Arians passive aggressive? LVD NOT a team leader? OK. The fact that you said that out loud I’m sure makes other players wonder where they are on the pecking order. Nevertheless you actually said that out loud. You are NOT a team leader!! Retire now instead of blaming players when you lose and pat yourself on the back when ” they win ” 🙄 from your incredible coaching. No class whatsoever. And from what I see you couldn’t coach peewee football. Just go away.

  13. Joe in Michigan Says:

    “Growing as Bucs leaders”.

TheBucsAnthem You sir are spitting nonsense. From what word he said do you derive ANY justification for deriding the man who just helped lead us to a Super Bowl? Where are you from? Where were you born. How old are you and now I will tell you why that matters. Im 66. I served my country .Am a Vietnam vet. After the year I got out, after growing up a Packers fan in the 60’s because Florida had no teams and then a dolphins fan and then a bucs fan, I was eternally grateful to the under spending, over business minded owner Hugh Culverhouse for bringing football to Tampa. Why? Because I was born in the bowery of Tampa Florida, Sulpher Springs, raw raised and brought up. Didnt matter that he was the 7th money making owner every year and put out the worst product. It was our product. My product. Ive seen Ray perkins and Bubba Wyche and Lovie and Morris and Schiano and they were great people who were poor head coaches. At least for the bucs. We messed up on every first pick except Leroy and seemed destined to create a losing record that may never be equaled. But then Dungy…Defense, Lovie and Kippen get great credit for that. Good draft on the D and a middlin’ To Suck offense. The rest is history. THATS what the heck the Bucs mean to my history. Thats the reason I support them thru ups and downs. And its the reason I called you out for denigrating Arians, the man who just head coached this team to a dream season. SMH!

  15. IrishMist Says:

LVD isn’t very vocal. He leads by example, which in most ways is better in my book. He lets Devon White and JPP do the talking.

  16. August 1976 Buc Says:

Why are people attacking BA. He was doing this event to HELP other people. Because he mentioned someone or not is not a huge slight, or a malice intended action. AGAIN THIS EVENT WAS ABOUT HELPING OTHERS. Some people need a reality check. Look at your own life, what are you doing to help others. Maybe you do , I do not know if you do or not. But like BA or not, he is a good Head Coach that is not perect. And he is a big reason overall why this group of players and coaches are together. GO BUCS!!!!

  17. Dyno-White ! # 45 Says:

LVD has always been the leader. The most underrated Buc of all time also brings out the leadership in others like his protege Dyno-White
