Antonio Brown Starting To Stir The Pot

April 8th, 2021

Guerrilla marketing.

This is starting to get fun!

It sure seems like furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing free agent receiver Antonio Brown is ratcheting up his public begging for the Bucs to get contract negotiations over with and put a signable contract in front of Brown’s face.

Yesterday Joe brought word that Brown took to the Buccaneers’ Instagram feed to post “sign @AB.” To Joe, that was funny enough.

Then comes yesterday when Brown retweeted a video of himself working out with receiver-needy Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson! (LOL)

The implication was quite clear: Brown was saying without saying if the Bucs don’t get a deal done with him soon, his buddy Lamar might talk to his coach John Harbaugh.

Now Joe is waiting with great anticipation for Brown’s next social media stunt to try and force the Bucs’ hands.

This is getting good. So much more fresh and interesting than, “As we see Mel Kiper’s 67th mock draft of the offseason… “

Brown wants to play for the Bucs again. Brown’s teammates want him back. The Bucs would like him back as well. So what’s the hangup? C’mon, we weren’t born yesterday.

Come on AB, just sign the contract. Suh, LVD, Shaq, Gronk and even Succop all got sweet, reasonable deals. I am sure the Bucs’ offer to you is fair too. Sign up and LFG!!! Back to Back SBs!!

Large murals of himself in his gym. Oh boy.

  4. Anonymous Says:

This is why I don’t fret singing him. His ego and lack of impulse control will always resurface.
    Don’t budge Jason.

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    MAGA Make Antonio Great Again

  6. Casual Observer Says:

Getting to be a bit too much like a soap opera.

  7. Beeej Says:

Cold hard mathematics– nobody is going to p sign him, so the Bucs can offer 1.5 million or something and he doesn’t have any choice. Why would the Bucs offer more?

  8. Bruce Blahak Says:

same thing that should have been done to Jameis, long ago….F U, goodbye!

  9. Fred mcneil Says:

It sure doesn’t pay to burn all yer bridges behind ya now does it, AB…..
Now people are blocking the bridges that could have been in front of ya.

  10. Frankinthe813 Says:

Do you really want a young QB hanging with AB?

  11. Frankinthe813 Says:

Maybe he can get a workout with Deshaun Watson too 😳

  12. Robert Says:

AB is much faster at those drills or is in ffwd

  13. D-Rome Says:

I am surprised at the Bucs off-season in the sense that I figured most of the free agent pickups from last year would have cashed in. I wouldn’t blame any of them if they did, including AB.

  14. Gofortheface30 Says:

Ahhh yes the guy that refers to himself in 3rd person and builds a gym that is effectively a shrine of…himself. The guy is a certified narcissistic sociopath. Look, it was fun last year – Evans and Godwin for whatever reason tend to get dinged up so we needed him, but the team has their Super Bowl, he’s a luxury and it would be irresponsible of the highest order to pay a 32yr old (with legal issues pending) what he wants. Too many college receivers nowadays that are pro ready. Guys like Elijah Moore, Kadarius Toney, Rashod Bateman (etc etc) can be had if the Bucs ever so choose, on a rookie deal whom are all physically superior to Miller and Johnson before they take an NFL snap. The Bucs do not have to do jack crap about anything

  15. alton d green Says:

yeah put him with Lamar and the Ravens can bail BOTH of them out

  16. Gordon Says:

Antonio is a hard worker and great player. He works very well with the Bucks and all of them admire him. He is honored and respected by the Bucs but that will not be the same if AB joins another team so he should sign up within two weeks regardless of the salary he gets because the Bucs have used up almost all their money!

  17. Anonymous Says:

Antics? We don’t need no stinking antics.. buh bye.

  18. Tbbucs3 Says:

I wouldn’t make much of anything out of this…all the Miami guys train together in the off season it goes on every year.

I just saw the NFL Network rankings have AB listed as the 56th best free agent. Are they forgetting this was the #1 WR in the NFL 2 years ago? I feel like the only reason he didn’t produce more is because he was behind Evans and Godwin and because he was a mid season transaction.

  19. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Gordon,

    Honored and respected?

    Slow down there Chief!

  20. Aceofaerospace Says:

As soon as draft day trades are over, he’ll sign. Most likely with the Bucs. He’ll be happy with what he gets. He’s in no hurry.

  21. lambeau Says:

Does AB think he’s scaring Licht? That they don’t know the Ravens signed Sammy Watkins for $5 M and want nothing to do with AB?

  22. Bucanero Says:

As long as he is training his ass off preparing for the season and stayin’ out of trouble I think AB is doing all that can be asked of him. It doesn’t change his situation. I don’t think the Bucs panic over this, as a fan I actually feel happy for him. Keep up the work AB and remember who vouched for you.

  23. Gofortheface30 Says:

Correction aceofaerospace- it is the BUCS that are in no hurry. If AB was in no hurry then he wouldn’t be making thirsty comments on the team’s social media post

  24. D-Rome Says:

I wouldn’t make much of anything out of this…all the Miami guys train together in the off season it goes on every year.

I agree. It’s not just Miami guys either. Players who share the same agent will work out together. This happens across all sports. It doesn’t mean anything.

  25. buc15 Says:

Let this clown. This isn’t a circus

  26. Bucanero Says:

Seriously, who cares about the murals on the walls of his gym? that is ridiculous. Good thing the man has channeled his energies in a positive and productive way. I thought the dude was over, maybe we all did but Tom frikin Brady.

  27. Will Says:

This is making something out of nothing. The guy is putting in work with his cousin and Lamar. Nothing more to see here.

  28. webster Says:

Damn this is a dumb fan base. So let me get this straight, a man working out with his cousin is sending a message to the bucs or as some of the posters are saying its ego, soap opera, antics, clown? Most players post themselves working out in the off season with players from other teams all the time. So what? And lamar has known hollywood brown for years which means he is probably viewed as a cousin to AB too. Who wouldnt go work out with their cousin in the offseason when said cousin has put up a HOF career? Who would not want to get pointers from a guy whom many consider one of the hardest workers in the nfl? Some of you are bat s#!+ crazy.

  29. fish Says:

something tells me that he isnt going to be the keep his head down and humble player this year.

stay away bucs. Please… let miller and johnson get more reps!! we also have oj back

  30. Canabuc Says:

He was also working out with his cousin Hollywood Brown.
    Nothing to see here.

  31. 813bucboi Says:

how are these antics?…lol….how is he a clown?…lol…

    he’s working out!!!!…

he’s not in the club…he’s not drinking or smoking….he’s not acting a fool…

he’s showing the bucs he’s ready and focused….

get a grip ladies!!!!!….BUCS WILL SIGN AB!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  32. gotbbucs Says:

    AB loves him some AB.

He made a bed that he has to lay in. He’ll never get top shelf money again in this league. That’s something that he maybe should have considered when he quit on two organizations in a row. You don’t get to pull the kind of sh!t that he pulled and just walk away from it without some professional employment ramifications, especially in a “good ole boys” club like the NFL.

  33. Cobraboy Says:

    Non story.

  34. Mitch Says:

I don’t think this is a big story. What it comes down to for him is that as long as AB stays on his medication, remains accountable, and continues his self-care he will be fine.

    Bucs will sign him.

  35. Capt.Tim Says:

Bucs are freeing up more money.
    Takes a bit.
AB is letting them, and us, where he wants to be, and that hes training.
    All good.

  36. Bucfan81 Says:

Not worried one bit if this guy does not come back. Personally think Scooter and Tyler Johnson are productive enough to replace anything AB can do at this point in his career.

  37. Robert Says:

    NFL-good ole boys club……LOL right!

  38. Aceofaerospace Says:

Gofortheface30, in my opinion, AB is in no hurry to sign for what he believes is bottom dollar. He’s holding out for a little, maybe a lot more. When the dust settles after all the draft day trades, the Bucs offers will look good and he’ll sign. There’s a bunch of very good receivers in this draft. Anyone wanting to give AB ridiculous money, would have done it by now.

  39. Steve Lahey Says:

When TB 12 gets done with vacation, he’ll make it happen. What Brady wants, Brady gets.

  40. Tc Says:

A B is such a drama queen. He wants to play games. With Desean Watsons problems, A B’s problems might pop back up on the nfl radar screen. He better be careful and have a low profile and fly well under the radar screen.

  41. Coach Woo Says:

Let’s b Real …….Everyone must b perfect I guess and you never got in any trouble never in life …..lol…..b.Real…..Antonio is one of top 5 receiver s in NFL He working out with players that have the drive to workout and show grateness on the field……I’m a Coach U need cocky players to win that are all in for football….He work out last year to with Jackson and Wilson ……Not just showing talent… But staying in shape and becoming better ……without the personal training……Tired of hearing what he did……But when it was Big Ben swept under rug Patrick Kerney and many more …..But what happen with Ray Lewis got in trouble plenty times before big murdertrial and he change his self …..but was way more cocky and trash talking than Brown……why we just can’t accept if you fk up then clean up……And he showed the world that ………in a half of a season …..And you know Tom his mentor he know what Brown doing ….. MARKETING HISSELF…….so please just stop unless your perfect

  42. Dlavid Says:

Let him go! More than likely his legal problems will blow up about playoff time! Don’t need the distraction!

  43. Dp4life22 Says:

Joe always reading i to things , dude is working out with friends , yOU should know joe this goes on everywhere. Lame attempt to throw rocks at AB , goos to see a guy that wants to play here busting hia tale in off season to be ready when called upon

  44. daniel Da Man Says:

MaybeAB just likes the attention. How long are the offers on the table? Agree by this xx date or they’re go away.

  45. Game film doesn't lie Says:

All the working out is great. But none of it changes the pending legal action. Only desperate teams will pay on hope. I hope AB is found not guilty or trial is postponed or settled. In a cash strapped cap year, bad time to gamble on him playing the whole year.

Accept the incentive heavy deal and come back to help defend the Crown!

  46. Buc4evr Says:

Omg. Just sign the guy Jason so we can discuss the draft instead. It’s been years since a vet like AB wanted to play here plus he is going to sub for 13 or 14 when they have injuries. Do it Jason.

  47. theodore Says:

Getting to be a bit too much like a soap opera.

No, not even close. AB is doing nothing caustic. Offseason workouts with players from different teams happens every day, and Joe is blowing this up as a stunt and a threat, albeit in a fun way.

  48. Ben green Says:

I’d love to have him too, but unless it’s a contract that gives the bucs an out (if his rape trial goes bad) I don’t want him. I guarantee that after he is deposed, y’all will have a different take

  49. Hope springs eternal Says:

So AB has a limited number of options or he would already be signed elsewhere. The Bucs have the leverage and AB does not. Another good season, a possible second Super Bowl with the Bucs and AB’s leverage goes way up. Smart play for him is to take the Bucs offer if it includes substantial incentive money based on results. Win win for both sides.

  50. Ldog Says:

Y’all need to quit hating on Ab we need the hole team back.. Knowing that it’s hard to win back to backs sb’s and the league is getting more competitive.. Signing Ab is smart… Some of y’all just don’t let the past be the past.. I no most of yall have not been no angels y’all entire life…

  51. daniel Da Man Says:

Never been an angel yet never beat up a

  52. daniel Da Man Says:

Girl or forced myself on one.

  53. windbaggery Says:

I do not care if we sign AB. I’d wait until after the draft, at least.

  54. Mike Says:

AB will end up signing with the Bucs, I think that’s obvious the longer things drag out.

  55. catcard202 Says:

100% for waiting until after the draft on AB…

This is another DEEP WR draft & AB will still be on the street in early MAY, if the FO doesn’t find the right rookie contract to fill his role.

  56. Will Says:

Still think this is being blown out of portion. The guy always trains with other NFL players. Now on to the CIVIL TRIAL that he has coming up later this year. He can’t go to jail from a civil trial but my question is. Since he was already suspended last year for 8 games can he be suspended again?Seems this all stems from the same issue and he’s already been punished by the league correct? Or am I missing something? 🤔

  57. Rod Munch Says:

Lamar is his cousin — and the Ravens have been turned down by everyone at WR, even when offering more money than everyone. I think the issue is with AB, you really going to put the season of your young QB in the hands of AB? There’s really only two teams where AB makes sense, where you have a strong veteran QB and where AB hasn’t burned his bridges, and that’s the Bucs and Packers. I know Wilson wanted him in Seattle, but it seems like the staff there doesn’t want him — and I’ve surprisingly not heard anything from the Packers, where he’d seem like a great fit. That might mean AB is really down to figuring out something with Tampa, which I hope is the case. I don’t know what kind of money he wants, but I guess it’s around $10-13m – which, based on other contracts, would be market value. Obviously Tampa can’t pay that much, and I’d guess they’re offering something closer to $5-6m (cut Brate, and there’s your $6m). I’d be for a league min with heavy incentives that lets him make up $12m based heavily on playtime and weekly roster bonuses to keep him in check. If he made that full amount, it would mean he had a hell of a year and kept himself in check, and since it’s bonuses, the Bucs would take the hit on the cap next year.

  58. skinnypigeon Says:

AB wants the Bucs much more than the Bucs need him. Spot on that AB is in limbo until after the draft.

  59. westernbuc Says:

I think Licht is continuing to test AB.

  60. Robert M Says:

I for one would love to see him in Bucs uniform again. Sure , we have great receiving corp but with AB on the field it makes us dangerous. It’s got to be stressful to go through season meeting quotas to make your money. Dbl his guaranteed from last year at least and incentive to bring him into 5 mil range. And Joe , maybe it’s time to pull back on the nicknames . We know AB tossed a bike and Brady got bounced from the park and walked into a strangers house. Maybe we should let the guy make his play for his contract . It’s his right. And If anyone goes down with injury which unfortunately is possible we will be glad for the extra pair of hands.

  61. Ron Says:

U dudes are idiots. He had a 1 year prove it contract worth 2 million…with incentives. All he has to do was ball out and no antics. HE DID THAT. He proved he could still play and and stay cool.

Now u reward him by offering the same 2 year contract..when he caught a TD in the playoffs…caught one in the SB and had more receptions than Evans and Godwin??? That’s how u repay him?

Look at Lebron..he got AD, then AD got hurt…now LJ got hurt…who gonna score now. Look at the Nets…Kd got hurt but u had Harden…then Harden got hurt…then u just had Irving..but now KD back.

The way the NFL is now teams can GET BETTER in a year.. U KNOW EVANS WILL GET HURT….Godwin got hurt..also had the dropsies…….AB is Inurance…its SB or bust every year do the right thing.

AB knows he won’t get his worth….but 2millon a year plus incentives and the same contract for a PB wr that IS BETTER THAN ur top WR….and help keep the ship afloat when Evans got hurt???

That man proved himself….he kept his word…show him u appreciate and trust him.

  62. THE TRUTH Says:

AB played in 8 game’s last season. And still was a efficient player for the team. Infact this team Will not win another super bowl without AB. So make it happen, if you are serious about winning a super bowl get it right and get a contract done. Please don’t listen to none of these lames. And skilless people who know nothing about football or winning. You don’t need to be a nice person to win. Just be a awesome player. And that’s what AB is whenever He touches a field. I won big on this team. And when they signed AB I new it was a super bowl win, And bet the farm. Bucks get it right bring all the team back. And go for it again.

  63. Elmer Fitch Says:

I agree with many Fans above AB, just signed the dam contact, and stop wasting time for everyone.

  64. Keith Henig Says:

Let him walk. He’s probably headed to prison anyway. The Bucs have a great Receiver Room as it is.

  65. #1 BUCFAN Says:

A Brown feels he was the reason Bucs won the S B. He’s not aware it takes 23 other players. Have to count kickers in.

Let him go, he’s not worth what Bucs are offering him besides he may end up staying at the Graybar Inn
