Encouraging Words From Tom Brady

March 12th, 2021

“We’re keeping the band together.”

Interpret that how you wish but that was the declaration Bucs Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady made today on Twitter as he signed his reworked contract. Should we pile into Big Storm Brewing and start guzzling Bromosa? It is Friday, you know.

  1. Chris Thomas from Heaven Says:

Kevin Minter back just now. I love it

  2. WiscoJoe Says:

Take a look at who commented “yessir” and to give a hint it’d Shaw Barrett

  3. WiscoJoe Says:

    Shaq*

  4. Thomas Says:

Look at the Comments, Shaq said “Yessir”. Im almost positive we are resigning him. LFG!!!! We going for 2!!!!

  5. Bird Says:

    The beer is called Bromosa?

I like you guys and all but that may be crossing the line
To much male bonding for me 😂

  6. David Says:

Watching these guys sign back is almost as good as winning the SB… almost… a distant almost. 😂 but still awesome!!!

  7. Adrnagy Says:

    Kevin minter resign baby.

  8. Adrnagy Says:

Started to look like 7 out 8 are back. Shaq being out.

  9. Cainishere Says:

It is an awesome sight to see someone so accomplished that he smiles while signing a contract to spread his money out thin just so he can keep his team together. Would have been great to have drafted Brady when he was a rookie and had all the years that he has played to have been in Tampa but if wishes were horses beggars would ride. I think it is incredible how much he likes the Bucs and so happy that he will retire as a Buccaneer. GO BUCS!!!!!

  10. Robert Says:

sounds like SB may get a deal. doubt its 20 mill though. maybe 14-15.

and getting AB is top priority

  11. KnoxvilleBuc Says:

    So freakin pumped!!

  12. Casual Observer Says:

Seven out of eight ain’t bad.

  13. Snook Says:

“It is an awesome sight to see someone so accomplished that he smiles while signing a contract to spread his money out thin just so he can keep his team together.”

I love the move but Brady isn’t sacrificing anything. He gets his most of 2021 salary upfront now as a signing bonus – BIG check in March as opposed to 16 game checks this fall.

  14. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

Bout to start heading south on I95 from Richmond, VA…if i’m a little late getting to Big Storm Brewing feel free to start without me. You’ll recognize me…I’ll be rocking my creamsicle Doug Williams #12!

  15. gbobucsfan Says:

    Ryan Succop please !!!

  16. Louis Friend Says:

Did you catch the reply from Shaq Barrett?: “yessir”

  17. David Says:

    ADRNAGY
where did you see that Minter signed?

That’s great! He’s a lot more important as the 3rd LB than people realize. He basil lay backs up both White and David.

  18. Steven007 Says:

I don’t ever want to lose sight of how nice it is to see a true professional at the reigns of our team. Trying to remember every moment. Thank goodness we have video, haha.

  19. Bird Says:

This means no ndog until potentially 2023. 😂

    How amazing is that?
What a coward to go into hiding with the GOAT here

  20. JaxBucsFan Says:

It’s only dead money if Brady doesn’t play. If he wins #8 this year, he’ll start thinking about double digits.

  21. Adrnagy Says:

Cairo santos signed 3 yr $9m with bears. Succop should get locked up.

  22. David Says:

On Instagram AB and Shaq are commenting. I think they are both signing.
Dean is posting 2 SB trophy pics.
    Even Giselle typed Let’s Go!!

    Feeling pumped up!!

  23. ClodHopper Says:

Love that shirt! Lets get double digits!!

  24. JimmyJack Says:

Yep looks like they are lining up to sign Shaq. Both David and Brady are freeing up well over 20M. Itll be more then enough for Shaq. Probably enough to get Shaq, Gronk, Succop and maybe Suh.

  25. David Says:

    JOE-

    POLL:
    Who retires first?

    Brady ____

    Rodgers____

    Stafford____

    Rothlisberger____

    Winston____

  26. Rod Munch Says:

Still can do deals with Smith and perhaps Jensen, if they do similar types of deal you can easily create another $15m or more there. Still have to decide on Brate or OJ, that’s at least $6m, same with Gholston at $5m ($5m is cheap for a starting d-lineman, so it’s not automatic they cut him).

Also the Bucs can still work out a deal with Godwin if they want to – the franchise tag doesn’t keep them from getting a long term deal done. Until he signs the tender, his cap number for this year can be just about anything on a long term deal.

Lots of ways to manipulate the cap.

  27. windbaggery Says:

Does this mean he knows his BFF Gronky will be back with the Bucs? I hope so!

  28. Rod Munch Says:

I wonder if the NFL changes the rules on voidable years – the amount of whining you see about the Bucs doing this is fantastic, in particular from Pats fans who are having a meltdown over Brady’s extension coming right after they learned that Cam Newton was resigned.

  29. JimmyJack Says:

Does anybody wanna talk about Jamies Winston with me?

  30. Adrnagy Says:

    Go ahead

  31. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – Sure, the Bucs should try to sign him as a backup, have him sit under Brady – even two years under Brady he’s still not even 30 – and he can take over. Basically what, I assume, the Saints are doing with him. While Brady was amazing this year, if he was to get injured, this is a 3-13 team with Gabbert as QB. The team MUST have some sort of legit option as the backup.

With that said Winston will be too expensive, I’d assume he gets at least $6-8m this year from the Saints if they do a 2-year deal, with the idea being that they’re in “cap hell” for a season. Taysom Hill is 31 already and in the last year of his deal, so I think they want to see if Winston will be their guy or not for the future since he’s still young.

  32. Leighroy Says:

Rod – 1st post whole heartedly agree. 2nd post, half the league is doing what the Bucs are doing this year. Pats fans are the bitter ex gf seeing their man marry a trophy wife. Let ‘em cry!

  33. Daniel Coyne Says:

Serious question for Joe …. is there any word on the throwback creamsicles for next season? That, on top of a Super Bowl win, would make my lifetime!!

Bruce mentioned this is the year they can add a third uni into the mix.

  34. ModHairKen Says:

Joe, is this enough proof that the former WWE 24/7 Champion is coming back???

  35. crazybucs_CL Says:

    @Leighroy Says:
“…….. half the league is doing what the Bucs are doing this year……”
    ———————–
I never thought in a million years that this will happen…..one man can change everything. That superman is TB12. credit to JL for realizing that.

  36. D1 Says:

    Jaymiss,

Used to live on monument ave and later right near the school, theater and church off mon. How are things there

  37. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Don’t forget Godwin……..sure he has been franchised for $16.2 mil…..but there is time to work out a long-term contract……that could save perhaps $10 mil on his first year……I really think that can happen.

  38. Cainishere Says:

I will talk some Winsnone with you Jimmy. He lost games deliberately when he was a Buccaneer because he was throwing a temper tantrum and let me guess, you want him back to back up Brady. Probably would do him a lot of good TBH.

  39. JimmyJack Says:

TBBF sounds good to me. Then we can sign Shaq like we did with David and save about 15 M more. Give Gronk and Suh 2 year deals and push back their CAP hits as well. Then you restructure Evans(save 6M), D.Smith(save 8M), Marpet & Jensen(save 5M each), Brate(save 4M), Gholston(save 3M), JPP(save 9M).

I just did all that math in my head and that gives us about 55M to resign Brown, Succop, and Fournette…….then after that we will still have enough money to sign at least 2 more probowlers. Maybe 3!!

Roanoke here! I remember watching Williams playing the Vikings in 78 or so with his jaw wired shut. We lost 23 to 22 when our guy missed the extra point

  41. Cainishere Says:

I love Jimmy’s math but wouldn’t all of that restructure place us in a bit of a cap hell after two seasons?

  42. Cainishere Says:

Thanks for explaining the contract situation to me as I did not realize how it worked Snook. I always hate this time of year because greed always rears it’s ugly head.

  43. Tampabaybucfan Says:

The voided years are a new one for me……I looked it up…..try to figure that out…..I guess it’s where a team can void a future year….but they still owe the player the money and it counts against the cap then…..
I think a lot of folks would like to have voided years with their future divorcees…

  44. Cainishere Says:

    Shaquil Barrett
    TB • OLB • 58
Contract package: $110 million, five years ($22 million per year)
    Overall guarantees: $68 million
Fully guaranteed at signing: $50 million
    First three years: $68 million
Bye Bye Shaq, enjoy them Browns

  45. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @Cainishere

I wonder what the NFL sanctions will be against the Browns for negotiating that contract before the FA deadline?

  46. Cobraboy Says:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but all voidable years do to create dead cap if the player is gone.

  47. Adrnagy Says:

Anyone can negotiate on the 14th. 3 days before the start. Cannot sign until the 17th.

  48. Adrnagy Says:

-$10M cap. Brady $19m =$9m available. Already including 7.7 for David. Need $7m for draft.

Keeping the Brady band together. Gronk, Godwin , fournette , aB.

One thing from licht , he keeps his own , and build on draft. Finds gems.

Im Very interesting what he’s going to do with shaq ….

  49. Cobraboy Says:

    Really, Cainishere?

Which body cavity did you pull those numbers out f? Or if quoting someone, which body cavity did they pull those numbers out of?

“Tampering” doesn’t begin until Monday afternoon.

  50. Cainishere Says:

Well let’s see if I turn out to be right as usual. I mean I have predicted everything else correctly so far why not this? I predicted Chris would be franchised. I predicted David would be next in line and would get 2 years. I predicted the Bucs would win the Super Bowl back in March So this is my latest prediction. Enjoy the news.

  51. adam from ny Says:

hopefully shaq is ok with 5 years 75 mil…

    otherwise he’s just mad greedy…

he made approx 25 mil in his career up to this point…

    (19+ mil as a buc)

    plus 75 puts him at 100 mil…

is it not enough for a career?…unless you’re mc hammer you should be just fine…

and when this contract ends there is a chance for another small 2 year contract if his play remains good…

and by then another 2 years will be 25 mil easy…

maybe he just doesn’t want to be a buccaneer…or he thinks he’s bigger than the system…

    #SignAlreadyShaq

  52. Cobraboy Says:

@Cainishere: I found where you got those numbers: some alleged second-tier agent guy apprentice who is supposedly “creating” the starting point of negotiations of “the top free agents.”

In other words, you plagiarized some flunky trying to be a Big Shot on the net.

    Weak sauce, sister. No meat.

There is a phrase for beta’s like you: “casual fan.”

  53. Cainishere Says:

Gee buddy you give me the link where I got it from big mouth go right ahead.

  54. Cainishere Says:

Besides, those numbers are accurate in his mind and the Browns have expressed the interest in having him not to mention that the Bucs would be hard pressed to match that contract after everyone else has sacrificed so much to bring everyone back. Would be a slap in the face to pay him top dollar after everyone did all of that. Face it he is as good as gone son.

  55. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Cainishere

Well, there is one bit of good news if your prediction comes true……at least Joe can’t claim that Shaq “left for no good reason”……

    Or maybe he still will…..

  56. Cobraboy Says:

    Cainishere Says:

Gee buddy you give me the link where I got it from big mouth go right ahead.

    Links not allowed, casual.

You plagiarized the exact words from one former agent hack named Joel Corry in a CBS op-ed called “Agent’s Take: Asking prices for 10 intriguing defensive players with expiring contracts”

If you claim those are your words, and not directly lifted elsewhere, you are a liar.

  57. Cainishere Says:

Those number i said are SHAQ’s demands. That is what he is asking for. The BROWNS have expressed interest and CAN meet those demands. Shaq can be replaced by a rookie with our stellar coaching staff. Shaq is a product of our coaching staff and other gifted players along the line. His performance dropped significantly when Vita was out. Take your “Casual” and Casually stick it in yer arse.

  58. Jerry Says:

If Shaq demands $110 million, he’s gone.
That’s a lot of money for 9 regular season sacks.

  59. Cobraboy Says:

NO THEY ARE NOT AND YOU KNOW IT!

I told you where you plagiarized it, right down to the dot separators.

They came from a second-tier former “agent” why is speculating where the “market” should be set for 10 D free agents.

You lifted them directly from someone else without attribution, which is plagiarism.

They are not Barrett’s words or thoughts. They are not your words or thoughts. They came from Joel Corry in the CBS article I posted. Anyone can google the article title and see for themselves.

You are the quintessential definition of a casual fan, not to mention a plagiarizing liar.

But now we know. You ain’t too bright if you thought you wouldn’t be busted…

As far as “sticking it”, any time you feel froggy, Mr. Casual Fan, just jump…

  60. DaBux Says:

Seeing this today, and reading JoeBucsFan.com every day now, is like football porn.

You know you shouldn’t watch or read it.

Your wife gets mad because you’re addicted to it.

And you just reply but look at the ****

  61. SteveK Says:

    Cobraboy FTW!

    Go Bucs!
