Bill Belicheat Keeps His Man

March 24th, 2021

Not coming to Bucs.

Joe normally doesn’t post news from the Belicheats. But since there are so many Bucs fans heavy-breathing over this guy, Joe felt compelled to type this.

It seems receiving back and free agent James White will stay in New England.

A kind commenter of this here site claimed All-American girl Jenny Taft of FS1 first reported this and Joe notices Jeremy Fowler of BSPN also has it.

So it seems a guy some believe is Brady’s security blanket (but not secure enough to win a home playoff game in 2019) won’t be coming to the Bucs. So it is possible Brady may have to slum it with Playoff Lenny and Ronald Jones and the deepest set of wide receivers in the NFL. Again.

Damn, another Super Bowl ring within reach for the Bucs. How will we survive?

Haha!!! Well said Joe! How will we survive, indeed? LOLOLOLOL

  2. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

There will quality backs in the draft sitting at 32. Cheaper rookie contract too.

  3. Cainishere Says:

I am happy he is staying in New England because the Buccaneers need to develop Vaughn. The kid needs his shot at being the real deal.

  4. Cobraboy Says:

    Kinda narrows Fournette’s options, huh?

  5. Waterboy Says:

That’s GREAT news!!!! Didn’t want him unless it was the veteran minimum.

  6. Bird Says:

All kinds of running backs with hands in nfl draft

    All good

  7. Snook Says:

Bucs fans were drooling for this guy like Joe drooled for Manziel.

  8. Anonymous Says:

Thought BB didn’t want him idiot .

  9. Beeej Says:

WELL. If Bellicheat wants the guy, I guess there can’t be TOO much wrong with him

  10. Mitch Says:

Vaughn will break out this year. He has the juice.

  11. BucEmUp Says:

I would go after Duke Johnson. Dude is a tremendous pass catcher that has played on crap teams. And he is a helluva runner as well, would be a great addition with or without Lenny. Great value signing,

  12. Robert Says:

Deepest WR’s?????? W/O AB that is not even close to accurate. ME and CG were plenty banged up quite a bit last year. Who will step in when one goes down… Tyler looks good but is unproven.

    Sign AB.

I am coming around to the idea of letting Lenny walk. Love the guy, but they can’t keep everyone and RB’s have a short shelf life. Let him get paid while he can.

  13. 813bucboi Says:

AB and Playoff Lenny will be re-sign…

    BRADY wants PERFECTION!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  14. Bird Says:

    Suh is official

And bucs had around 15 mil in cap space before suh deal got done

  15. Gofortheface30 Says:

Cainishere- maybe. Maybe not. As in, could Vaughn be developed? Sure! Frankly the Bucs may not like him enough to elevate him to many more snaps. If/when the Bucs draft Javonte Williams who is, frankly, an order of magnitude better than Vaughn (and candidly more talented than Rojo/Fournette), Vaughn will be inactive on game days. The Bucs are more than likely not going to resign Rojo to a big deal next yr and I believe the Bucs get their legit running back of the future. A real bluechip talent guy.

  16. Chris Thomas from Heaven Says:

ROJO is in a contract year i believe. He should ball out.

  17. Pewter941 Says:

He was just another Charles Sims anyways.

  18. Winny Testaverde Says:

Lombardi Lenny was money once he was deactivated and his career was headed towards the abyss. Would love to have him back…he and Jones could push one another for the right to see who might be re-signed in 2022.

  19. 813bucboi Says:

    agree with mitch…

vaughn has great vision…he’ll be ready…

    GO BUCS!!!!

  20. lambeau Says:

I’m guessing Lenny is coming back–Carson only got $5 M per and he’s better.
Oddly, Lenny had 100 targets in 2019 and only dropped 6, but he dropped at least 7 last year on 47 targets–maybe he was thinking too much and is a better receiver than he showed.

  21. SKBucsFan Says:

Glad that nonsense is over. Let’s focus on the draft now.

  22. Erick Says:

But I thought Belichek was letting this bum go? No one said the Bucs wouldn’t be contenders without this guy, but he would’ve been an upgrade on 3rd down regardless how much Joe wants to poo-poo it.

  23. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

    Snooze you lose!!!

  24. frogfromthemud Says:

Well, still might consider Rex Burkhead.

  25. mark2001 Says:

Just in case the post with no ID doesn’t go through….

Some of you miss how these things are likely being played. The Pats used Lenny to drive down the price on White, as Seattle did on Carson. Sounds like Lenny wants too much…and yet…no one out there will pay his asking price. Have to respect how Licht, Arians, etc.. seem to have their numbers in mind for Lenny and Brown. OK guys…your turn. And if not? Good luck.

People also seem to think GM’s forgot Lenny’s stay with the Jags. After another big contract, who knows he won’t revert to that Lenny? Or Brown more in line with his last few NFL team “homes”. They all can equate the risk.

  26. lambeau Says:

    I can’t believe he signed for only $2.5 M.

  27. Hodad Says:

If Brady, and the Bucs really wanted him, he’d be in Tampa. Wouldn’t you agree Joe?

  28. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

I agree, at 2.5mil that is a steal. Not sure if Brady was in those talks.

  29. kyle Says:

    go fkn bucs

  30. Rod Munch Says:

I figured he’d get less than $3m, he’s really just a 3rd down back at this point, but still, I’m surprised the Bucs weren’t in on it since they need a 3rd down back to pair with Rojo. In any case, the market for Fournette has completely tanked and he might end up something in this price range being his best offer, we shall see. Ideally, if I’m Licht, I try to get a low-ball 2-year deal out of Fournette that covers you for next year when Rojo’s contract is up.

In any case RB’s can be found anywhere so there’s no need to pay up for one. Also we don’t know about Vaughn yet – maybe they think he’s going to be in that Fournette role and the 3rd down guy this year. Sure, he didn’t look great his rookie year, but Ronnie looked terrible his rookie year and everyone called him a bust, turns out that any RB in Dirk’s system is going to have a tough time.

  31. cape codder Says:

Bill the boob. The Bucs have the 2 Hall of Fame x Patriots. White has lost a step and missed a few blitzes last year. Go young with speed.
