Smile says it all.
You think Bucs inside linebacker Devin White had a huge game last night? You would be right. One of the best this century.
White, in his first game back from the Reserved/COVID list after missing two games, made his NFL postseason debut and he killed it.
White was everywhere. He tackled. He scooped up a fumble. He picked off a pass from a Hall of Famer.
In fact, the type of game White had last was the reason why the Bucs selected him No. 5 overall in the draft in 2019.
And no, your eyes were not deceiving you. White had such a huge game, it was one of the four best by a defensive player in the 21st century, notes Andrew Holman of the Bucs’ media relations staff.

When you think of the kickarse defenders who have played in the playoffs the past 20 years, what White did is almost mind-blowing.
His pick of Drew Brees that likely sealed the win may not go down in Bucs history with Rondé Barber’s pick-six to “Shut down the Vet” in the 2002 NFC title game, but it was close.

He seems to be making strides in pass coverage. Sometimes i wonder if his bulky frame restricts him from being as fluid as David. Lots of upside remains untapped.

Ronde’s pick took us to the SB…so nope it’s not close.
Similar in that it sealed the game….but Ronde’s pick always brings a smile (to this day)to my face whenever I think about it.

Dude has great hands. He just needs to be more aware of the routes being run and the receivers in the area and he will be great in coverage.

Joe I’m glad you came around to White. I know you wanted Allen but White was drafted to do what he did yesterday – negate Kamara. Was beautiful to watch.

To see him defend a pass was beautiful, and then when he went beast mode on the guy trying to tackle him was priceless! Dude looked so shocked that he shoved him out of the way so violently I laughed real hard! No rust on him. If they play like that next week, a very good chance will be a repeat of the game earlier in the season which every Bucs fan would love to see after they sent Drew Brees into a painful retirement!

That narrative needs to be so over that it’s dead! We made the best possible pick for our team with that draft choice. Conversation over! This man is a beast and an absolute difference maker. Rondes game vs the Eagles should be on that list of dominating playoff individual efforts: 6 tackles, 4 pass defended, a strip sack and off course a 92yd game clinching pick 6. White was a beast last night, that time off may have been a blessing. He might have shot his wad vs Washington.

And who was it again that was telling me he wasn’t worth the 5th pick in a draft?? There are only so many Butkus’, Singletary’s, Lewis’, Lambert’s types that come around in a generation. When you have a chance at a stud Middle Linebacker that can change the paradigm for a decade. The 5th pick is a small price to pay. Keep rising up that ladder Devin!
