What Happens This Week For The Bucs?

January 26th, 2021

So without a game next weekend and the Super Bowl on the horizon, how will the Buccaneers handle this week?

Joe has answers.

The source is Bucco Bruce Arians, speaking on his team-sponsored radio programming last night.

This is all new territory for Joe, so Joe was curious to learn the next steps for the Bucs.

This week will be treated like a normal week of practice, Arians said, not like a bye week. The regular practice schedule means players are on the field Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with typical sessions and walk-throughs. It seems they’ll also have meetings and a walk-through only on Saturday before being off on Sunday.

One atypical goal of this week, per Arians, is for players to get all the family distractions out of the way. For example, make ticket and travel arrangements for mom and dad and siblings this week, rather than getting caught up in that stuff next week.

Arians himself said his 95-year-old mother is all jacked up about the Bucs making the Super Bowl, and his family is working on plans to bring her to Tampa for the game.

Early next week, Arians noted, the Bucs and Chiefs have lengthy media obligations before they can settle in on football.

Hopefully all players are smart about their contacts the next two weeks…one would think they wouldn’t want to ruin their Super Bowl appearance.

  2. BDub Says:

Watching players roll down their windows and high five unmasked Rona carriers absolutely killed me. I was pissed at idiots out there potentially infecting our players. I love this team as much as the next guy and wanted to be there but brains beat our heart. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for so many.

    HOME SWEET HOME!!!!!

    LETS GO!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  4. Brandon Says:

Unmasked rona carriers. The evidence that masks do absolutely nothing is overwhelming but we still have the sheep out here trying to be the mask police. Hate to break your fantasy, but just wearing the damn mask doesn’t do anything.

Although this game is super scary, so were the last two. With a healthy lineup, no excuses. I envision a good offensive showing – fewer dropped passes and a good run game. On the D side another ferocious rush effort with Vea in and good play from the secondary. This may be a lopsided game with the Bucs dominating the way they did against Oakland in 2002. Wouldn’t that be special?

  6. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Of course, I want us to win the Super Bowl, but even if we don’t, we are still NFC CHAMPIONS!
I am still chewing on that!

Brandon says as he parks his 1992 pickup truck with a window sized FLOGROWN sticker in front of his memaws double-wide.

  8. Buc1987 Says:

Bdub….90% of Florida are wearing masks on a daily basis. The case numbers are still sky high as if no one is wearing them. 12,000 a day tells me the masks aren’t helping. How do you suppose those 12,000 people yesterday got the virus? From peeps not wearing masks? I always go with the what the CDC originally said, the masks don’t prevent you from getting the virus.

I wear one because people make me wear one. I’m a waiter and work around many peeps without masks all day long. Not one of my co-workers have caught the virus yet despite all the dirty plates we touch and all the maskless people.

Seriously I doubt the numbers would be THIS high if the masks did any good.

  9. SKBucsFan Says:

Lol Brandon. Is your medical degree from Harvard or John’s Hopkins?

  10. alton green Says:

what the Hell is wrong with you people? We have a game for all the marbles coming up in less than 2 weeks. The Bucs have done an excellent job with the C-19. Let’s stay with what brought us to the dance. Don’t INVENT things to distract our players. There will be plenty as it is

  11. David Says:

Get all those arrangements for the family members today and stick their arses in hotels away from the players

  12. 6throundpick Says:

    @Brandon: +1

  13. Ben green Says:

My only hope is that the players treat this like business. So many players on so many SB teams get caught up in the spectacle. The goat can preach all he wants but, it’s up to the players to make sure they are getting the necessary rest, focus and attention it takes to win. They’ll need the best week of practice and the coaches need the best gameplan if they expect to have a shot against that child abuser hill and that douchebag Kelsey

  14. bucnole Says:

Please don’t ruin it by doing something dumb guys – wear your mask stay at home (team hotel?) and concentrate on winning this game
But you just know someone might do something stupid – fingers crossed that doesn’t happen

  15. orlbucfan Says:

    @Brandon: -100

  16. Buxszntkt Says:

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for many of you guys, don’t buy into those arses DeSantis and Scott and host a family party without masks and come down with COVID boys. Hang in and be smart just two more weeks , then you can visit Mar a Lago and enjoy a COVID cocktail

  17. Formally Tampa 2 Says:

Just read many threads on Brady & Arians. The main reason I think that TB is the GOAT goes way deeper than his on field performances. I’ve been a Buc fan since 1976, and have seen many QB’s and Coaches come & go. But the Bucs finally hired a coach that tells it like it is and acts on it too. (winston) and even though he is set in his ways (offense) he gets the GOAT QB that has played HIS own way for 20 years too. While it took a few months to gel and change, BA & TB seemed to combine their play preferences into one hell of an offense. As for TB, he came in here and seen the losing mentality of the team and went to work to change that into a winning mentality and, many months later, they are certainly winners. So whether we win the Super Bowl or not, Brady has shown all Tampa fans why he is the GOAT.

  18. Listnfrmafar Says:

There are plenty of prior SB players on this team to help the young guys get through the BS. This is an advantage for KC, the majority of the team experienced all the distractions last year. Focus #1 get & stay healthy, especially stay away from covid potential.

  19. NashvilleBuc Says:

    @brandon

If those of us that promote mask-wearing are wrong, then we just look stupid and yep you can call me a sheep. But we’re doing whatever we can to try and keep people safe and get us back to work. Does it work? I hope so and I believe it does since the only people I know who have gotten C19 are anti-maskers or were careless.

If you’re wrong, you are spreading misinformation that leads to sickness and death.

Why, if you refuse to wear a mask, can’t you just keep your effing mouth shut? Because you just want to be right? Because you’re lazy? Because you’re a troll? Because you think asking people to wear masks is a threat to our very way of life and democracy? Like seat belts and non-smoking sections?

  20. Oxycondoms Says:

Hopefully theyve startd game planning the chiefs already have started.it helps we played them once since brady questioned earlier in season the the amount of game planning involved during the week . I feel thats what helped the bucs beat the saints and packers the fact it wasnt first time playing them this season

  21. 123urout Says:

This is the final exams for Todd Bowles and Leftwich. I’m really hoping that they will Ace this and they can move on to being a head coach to some other teams. But for now, please study very hard like your career is on the line….. All of tampa bay will be cheering for the Bucs. GO BUCS!!!!!

  22. Show Me the TDs Says:

@Nashville. Maybe because Brandon has a different opinion than you do. This is a public forum. Take your cancel culture and shove it.

  23. Mort Says:

Let’s see, on one side we have the worlds top infectious disease experts say to wear a mask AND STAY THE F AWAY FROM OTHER PROPLE, and on the other, we have Brandon on The Internet says nah, ignore that, everything is fine.

You have to be a literal moron to listen to Brandon.

  24. Show Me the TDs Says:

@Mort. How is that working out, you know, for the entire planet. In March, it will be over a year and supposedly people are still dying at alarming rates. Thousands have died since the inauguration due to the mismanagement of our president, or was that just the last one? Sheep.

  25. JimbobBucsFan Says:

Brandon, I don’t know where you get ” The evidence that masks do absolutely nothing is overwhelming”. Please point me to where I can see that evidence. I mean this sincerely. I want to know if I am truly misinformed. This is important for all of us.

All of the science I’ve seen and the medical advice I’ve heard says the opposite.

It is just as well that such a point comes up during our shared joy over the Bucs latest victory. The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown the proverbial monkey wrench into all of our lives!

  26. BobbyH Says:

Saw Mike Evan stop roll down windows and sign autograph on the video. OMG Bucs please dont do that. We need you for SB.
