“This Is About House Money For Tom Brady”

January 6th, 2021

One quarterback legend says the pressure is completely off Tom Brady — perhaps for the first time in years.

Four-time Pro Bowl QB Michael Vick, the NFL’s all-time leading rusher at the position, was very firm during a recent FS1 analyst appearance talking about how Brady doesn’t need a Super Bowl this season to prove anything in Tampa — and Brady knows it.

“I don’t think Tom Brady needs another trophy. I think he got more than enough. I think right now this is about house money for Tom Brady,” Vick explained, noting next season is when Brady will have great pressure on him after the setting the Bucs’ bar this year.

Vick believes the Bucs can be a true Super Bowl contender now, but he’s very concerned about the Tampa Bay pass protection against a good defense. So Vick is calling the Bucs a long shot.

Regardless, Vick thinks the Bucs have had a successful season and 2021 is their time.

“I just think they needed a little bit more than they what they got from Jameis Winston, and they got that from Tom Brady — less interceptions, more touchdowns,” Vick said. “… I think they’re a year away.”

Who cares what Vick has to say….. He’s a piece of $hit.

  2. Bobby M. Says:

Agree….I felt playoffs this year was a realistic goal. SB with no offseason, a new system, new players….not so much. We are in….and to have any shot at the SB we had to clear that hurdle first. Now we see what happens in Washington. I want to believe Brady will go about his business with the mindset that Washington is a SB contender….and that approach will serve us well.

  3. Robert James Says:

Vick makes a good point . Next year is the real super bowl or bust… which makes for a tough 2021. Need a win this week though. I don’t see us winning at GB , so I’ll be pulling hard for Bears and rams.
” a little bit more than they got from Jameis”… lol…how a bout 33%more tds and and a third of the turnover when you factor in turnovers , and Brady looked a little out of sync sometimes

  4. Gofortheface30 Says:

I don’t think it makes for a “tough” 2021. If the Bucs bring back most of their talent (provided the cap remains flat) then you can bet your a$$ that the Bucs will be the overwhelming favorites next year. That’s fun! Embrace it. How often have the Bucs be THEE NFL draw, THEE prohibitive favorites next yr. Primetime games galore, sell outs every week. Give these guys real mini camps, OTAs, training camp etc etc. Shiiiiit – were going to have our own golden state warriors, Chicago bulls type team. Embrace the expectations, embrace the spotlight. You better believe mile Evans and lavonte david will, after years of purgatory and irrelevance

Interesting notion, but I don’t think that the writer has a clue as to what motivates TB … to even think that this year is “ house money “ defies every bone in TB’s football history…. gotta sell them washing machines as they lyric goes.. I think it’s more like monkey banging on a drum

  6. View from 132 Says:

I agree with Vick’s take, but still can’t think of the guy without thinking about abused dogs. I just don’t understand what would make a guy, especially with NFL money, get involved with dog fights.

  7. NoBody Says:

Yea but he’s right, this year we’re a contender for suuure.. but next year (assuming Tom can juice some magic and keep more players than we cam afford to..) were gunna be nasty…

  8. Defense Rules Says:

Each year stands on its own. Bucs have a chance to win the Super Bowl NOW. We MIGHT also have a chance to win it next year, but no one can predict exactly what will transpire between now & then, not even Michael Vick. This Bucs team needs to treat this as a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’, and I’m sure they will.

  9. gotbbucs Says:

    He’s probably right.

  10. ModHairKen Says:

The Offensive Line is the strength of this team. Period.

  11. Lars Tatersalad Says:

He doesn’t have a dog in this fight

  12. SlyPirate Says:

Next year is our year! … but since we’re already here let’s win this year, too.

  13. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I disagree. I think we can win in Green Bay IF we can get to Green Bay.
The Saints will certainly be in our way, and they seem to have our number.

  14. HeyItsAdam Says:

    Vick isn’t watching.

The Bucs are the third best team in sacks allowed

  15. Your momma fav buc Says:

If we can beat New Orleans, we’re good!!! We handed Green Bay Their asses in Tampa ! I agree, on the pass defense, we give up way too many yards.

  16. Anonymous Says:

Hes been playing with house money since 2004!

  17. BuddhaBuc Says:

    @ Lars – Hilarious

  18. BuddhaBuc Says:

@Chris – The Saints only have our number because Jay-Miss the fool gave them our playbook. He got played by them and will be shipped off at the end of the season.

  19. Oneilbucs Says:

Veiw do you do you look at big Ben as a rapist of 2 women ??? So just shut up with that foolish statement …

  20. james west Says:

brady and the boys are surging, peaking and playing their best football going into the playoffs, imho they have as much of a chance of getting to the show as anyone

  21. TSmitty300 Says:

Vick is a fanboy. It is Super Bowl or Bust, because next year isn’t promised. Father Time will catch up to Brady eventually. You have to maximize this year, because of the free agency decisions they will have to make. What if the Bucs get hit with the injury bug in 2021? What if Brady falls off a cliff like Peyton Manning did midway through next season like Manning in his last season? Bringing in Brady is like the Lakers bringing in LeBron. Lakers fans were heated they didn’t win it that first year. BTW LeBron is younger than Brady, so he had more time. You don’t bring in Brady just to make the playoffs. A young team like the Browns should celebrate it as they are building a program. This team was put together to win a Super Bowl. Should be a fun ride

  22. Oneilbucs Says:

TSmitty300 I agree with you a 100% bro but a statement like that will make a lot of these people angry on this site . When you speak truth that makes you a Jamies fan even when you haven’t brought him up . It’s superbowl or bust for me as well bro whith all these players and all this money they spent on one year deals .

  23. Listnfrmafar Says:

Brady is at his best when considered the underdog. All I know Brady, Gronk, AB & JPP have already been to the house. That PO experience is priceless.

  24. Scooter Says:

Run the ball toward Chase Youngs side.
