The Difference In Coaching

January 29th, 2021

Explains coaching styles.

Ali Marpet isn’t like Lavonte David or Will Gholston who came in during the Commander Greg Schiano era.

Those two have seen a whole lot of gruesome football played at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway.

So it is so cool they are playing Super Bowl LV in their home stadium. That should be absolutely surreal.

Ali Marpet, who the Bucs drafted in 2015, was asked this week about what’s clicking that didn’t before? Marpet pointed to coaching, specifically how the current staff treats the players.

“I think one thing that I can think of; [or] at least that comes to mind, is B.A. has done such a great job for us is kind of letting players play their own game and giving guys the opportunity to do what they do that makes them successful instead of pigeon-holing a player and making them do what you want them to do,” Marpet said. “I feel like, at least for us as an offense and offensive line, he gives he freedom for the coaches and the players to do what they need to do to get the job done. Sometimes he’ll say it’s my way; [sometimes], he’ll let you do what you need to get it done.”

This to Joe seems like common sense. It also reminded Joe of an Eddie Van Halen interview.

Van Halen made a name for himself, in part, for what was extremely unorthodox guitar-playing when he first hit the scene. He always said that it didn’t matter how you play guitar, so long as you make the guitar play a note you want it to play.

“It’s your guitar,” he would say. “Do what you want with it. There are no rules.”

If a player is able to accomplish the task at hand, and is able to do so without giving up a penalty or putting a teammate in a pinch, who cares how he solves his task so long as the objective is met?

Work on your flaws to get better but work on strengths to become great.

The issue over the past few years has been mainly coaching, terrible schemes, & the inability to make in game adjustments. The talent has been here

The unique fact that the bucs have an unusually large coaching staff has enabled our reserves to get coached up,instead of observation learning. Because of this large staff, they are getting the experience they need if pressed into service.i would be shocked if more teams don’t begin to take this same approach.

This is one of many reasons, why Arians should be Coach of the Year.

Who would have guessed we were going to the Super Bowl. I thought we had a decent chance after picking up Brady and all the rest of the players but then everything started to fizzle halfway through the season. Got to give credit to BA and the coaches who said with all the new players, it would take time to build team chemistry.

Tampa Bay’s offense is the best they have ever fielded. It’s the reverse of the 2002 SB team. The 2021 offense is the strongest part of the team. Will they be good enough to win? I sure hope history repeats itself.

LOL, Van Halen made a name for himself when he said there was no wrong way to make Love to Valerie Bertinelli!
I did not care for Van Halen when they replaced David Lee Roth with Sammy Hagar.

The Bucs are peaking as a team right now, so our coaches must be given credit.
The poor Houston Texans are gonna get Lovie Smith as defensive coordinator, no wonder Deshaun wants out!

BA is one of those rare dudes who is totally comfortable in his own skin. He doesn’t need any validation for his ego. He doesn’t really care if TB12 or BL or Bowles get the credit. BA wants just one thing. Winning.

I think TB12 is much the same. Both of these guys just want to win and they don’t care who gets the credit or what needs to be done to get there.

Hindsight is 20-20 but it’s hard to imagine a better Coach QB combo. These two guys were made for each other. Which is why it was so absurd to speculate whether Brady would flourish in BA’s offense or whether BA could adapt to letting a vet with Brady’s credential a ton of input on what offense to run

  11. Dan Williamson Says:

Im just gonna leave this right darn here.
Thomas Edward Patrick Freaking Brady. The DAMN GOAT! BA grts his credit. Fo sho, but the GOAT……bend yo damn knee Tampa fans. LETS GOOOOO!

  12. DalvinCookRules Says:

Bucs are winning on talent alone and the leadership of Brady. Period. BA is a joke. He and his coaches have very little attention to detail. You can just watch those out patterns the receivers run, they are rarely sharp and precise. He has even admitted on occasion he really doesn’t do sh*t.

You ever see Valerie Bertinelli on the Food Network? That girl still has it.
