Rob Gronkowski Wants To Return For 2021 Season

January 18th, 2021

Thirsty for second year with Bucs.

So one of the coolest things to happen to the Bucs was among some of the best offseason moves in franchise history — trading for then-retired future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski.

It was a move like Tom Landry or Al Davis made famous: Trade for dudes who just retired and then coax them out of retirement to squeeze another year or two out of them.

Pairing Gronk back with his old quarterback, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, biscuit-baking Tom Brady might just make magic.

And it did.

So much so that Gronk told his former Patriots teammate Willie McGinest of NFL Network yesterday morning that he wants to return to the Bucs for the 2021 season.

Willie McGinest: It sounds like this team is built to win. So are you going to saddle back up and come back for another year with Tom Brady and this team?

Rob Gronkowski: Yeah, ya’ gotta. I feel like this team was built, like, to win right now. It was put together this year to win right now. It always pops up in your mind to think about the future a little bit. I can definitely see this team also having a lot of talent come back and have a another successful run next year as well with me.

Man, that was awesome to hear and read. It isn’t very often you have a Hall of Fame tight end saying he wants to play for the Bucs. My, how things have changed.

Gronk rocking the pewter and red for another season? Joe can sure handle that!

The good news: Gronk back for another season.

The bad news: Gronk missed his mouth with the drink.

Gronk, Brady in town for Gasparilla? Oh hell….

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Wow, Licht will have his work cut out for him. This will be interesting.

The only thing is that we probably won’t be in the FA market for high-priced players….

  5. All lives matter Says:

I see a lot of one year contracts next season

  6. 68%fraud Says:

Joe can we petition you to change Brady’s moniker?? The dude deserves to be called something else at this point. It was funny before but like the den of depression- things have changed, I know you probably won’t listen but it would be awesome to see something like “Drew Brees retiring, playoff winning, pro bowl snub, F#*%ng bada$$ tome Brady!

  7. Leighroy Says:

Agreed All Lives. No one wouldn’t want Gronk back, the real question would be at what price?

  8. Brandon Says:

Gronk would have to come cheap no matter where he plays. The cap is way down for everyone. Bucs have money but Godwin, David, and tons of others either need contracts or to be replaced….Barrett, Suh, ABrown, Fournette, Nacho, and a few backups.

Next year, we may be even better!
We will have Vita Vea back!

Here is the logic of another Gronk year. He lives in paradise now. He’s a “senior citizen” so he gets days off, and special privleges, including being a best friend of his QB. He’ll still have OJ Howard (Remember him? Long season) and perhaps Brate to pick up some slack, so not a lot of pressure. So, sure, may not make prime money but it’s like getting paid full time for a part time job, and he’s already made loads of money and his name recognition alone and relationship with Brady will certainly bring another couple of mil. Who could want more?

  13. Listnfrmafar Says:

He stays if Brady stays. Unlike Brady, Gronk doesn’t take to home team discount. I see him playing one more year but not for less than 7.5 Mil. with bonuses. The one catch he made last night was big. He wants to stay, that’s good, for what price? Not so good.

  14. 813bucboi Says:

    Plus OJ is back…

    GO BUCS

  15. Wesley Says:

    But can we afford him?

  16. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

The Brady effect!! … This is all because of Licht, Brady and Arians… Mainly Brady… Licht is going to have to have his absolute best draft ever next year and I believe it will be… He picks well in the late rounds and that’s what they’ll have… Jpp, Suh and possibly even Barrett I don’t see them guys coming back… They are going to have to go really d-line heavy… They’ll have Vea back and he was reeeeally starting to look good and who knows how good this team would be right now if he was still here!! … But yeah they can afford to get all this back it’s just going to take some reeeeally good off-season picks and a really good draft along the d-line… I’m reeeeally hoping Brady decides when he retires to coach for the bucs!!! Reeeeally hope that happens!! Dude has a way about him that just makes others believe!!!

  17. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Bird… Yeah they also wanted to get rid of Rojo, didn’t want White and teased the bucs for getting them and wanted to keep Winston!! Really knowledgeable site for sure…. They don’t understand what wins in the NFL like this sites constant knock on “leaders” … Says they don’t think “leaders” do anything or are a thing probably because they’ve either never played ball past the little league level… Or they never played with a Devin White type of player… I played all the way up through college and even played on the same team in high school as Shaun King …. I was a freshman his last year but….. I know what leaders bring to a team and this site even with Brady making these changes, even with White coming in and just totally changing the mind set of this defense… They still don’t get it!!

  18. Bird Says:

    ^^^^

    Yes sir.
    What he said

Brady will be playing in 14th title game in full season 19 years ( cause he didnt play as rook and had the roll rule at legs and got injured on first game of year another )

  19. Kentucky Buc Says:

Going to throw this out there again. LF and Shady likely not coming back. James White is a free agent. The best pass catching back in the game. Egoless
