Mike Evans On Tom Brady: Winner

January 20th, 2021

Impact on Bucs.

With park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking Bucs quarterback Tom Brady, it is all about one thing.

And that is winning, said Bucs star receiver Mike Evans.

Speaking today about facing the Packers in the NFC Championship game, Evans said the Bucs being this deep in the playoffs (for the first time in 18 years) is really no surprise.

Evans wasn’t boasting like the Bucs are the new Packers; it was about who the Bucs signed in March as a free agent.

This potential championship run all began with Brady, Evans believes.

“He’s the greatest player in the game,” Evans said. “You add him on any roster I’m sure the outcome would be like this. He will always get his team to the playoffs.

“He’s a winner. He’s a natural-born winner, leader, all of that. At this point in his career, he is just playing chess.”

There is no question what Evans said is true. Brady has raised everyone’s game, both offensive and defensive players.

We heard how when training camp first opened, if not when Brady was holding spring practices at Berkeley Prep, Brady was coaching up receivers to keep pumping their arms all the way through routes.

And we heard just a few days ago how Devin White said he was upset that he wasn’t named to the Pro Bowl and Brady told him to get over it because the Super Bowl is a higher goal.

It’s not just Brady’s smarts and talent that got the Bucs where they are. Brady knows how to win and what it takes to win. And Brady held everyone to a much higher standard.

No one in the NFL has street cred like Brady.

    Exactly!

  2. Hawk Says:

For the last 18 years, the Bucs have been playing checkers.

  3. Steven007 Says:

Hawk, the Bucs were playing checkers on good days. For much of that time they were playing chutes and ladders.

ME13, what a team player, what a guy….im so proud of him, and his achievements, and yet he appears as a regular guy….. telling out loud, how he feel about TB12.
we should be proud of these guys, of this team.
And don’t forget, doing all these things with a below average coaching staff.
Kudos to them, kudos to ME13

  12. Kentucky Buc Says:

@BobbyH. He can’t fly. Well , nobody’s caught it on film at least.

  13. ModHairKen Says:

Mike Evans is a WINNER. Buccaneer for life. Anything less would be uncivilized.

  14. Listnfrmafar Says:

Correction Mike, it’s the weapons around him that are willing and trusting enough to buy into the new culture. I doubt that was easy for one being a losing organization for so long and 2 how this season started out. Bucs went from football players to professional football players.

Brady’s kryptonite, Tom Coughlin & New York Giants.

  15. Aceofaerospace Says:

There has only been 54 Super Bowls and Tom Brady has started at quarterback in 9 of them. Let that sink in. Most NFL players will never play in one.

  16. Jason Says:

So TB12 has played in 1/6 of all the Super Bowls ever?

  17. Robert D Ledford Says:

As a Buccaneers fan! Let’s just say Go Bucs! Stay physical play tight defense! Let the G.O.A.T LEAD THEM ! The game comes down to the defense! In Devin we trust!

  18. bojim Says:

We are blessed to have him.

Steven007….classic! Where was that awful long chute….Somewhere between 83 and 87 and it would take you all the way down to the teens, as I recall! Haven’t played that game in a solid 20 years when my son was little, but that brought back an intense memory.

    ***********************************************************

I think if you asked him, he would say he led winning teams to 1/6 of the super bowls
He knows what it take to get there

  21. stpetebucsfan Says:

The beauty is that he’s with us next year and the way he’s playing maybe two more.

Draft the Bama QB…he has the same style and game as Brady…and let him sit for a year or two behind the GOAT.

BTW Brady had two NFL QB’s behind him at one point. Garrapollo being the best and a guy Belichik wanted to keep over TB12….yeah he’s a great HC…what a wonderful offensive mind eh?

Reports were that Brady was very popular in the QB room even with players he could have legitimately viewed as a threat. He seems to get along well with Gabbert. All the players seem to like Brady in addition to respecting him.

The Bama QB could also act as a legitimate backup freeing Brady to play 2-3 more years.

  22. Sport Says:

So Joe hypes ‘Street cred’ but leadership is fake. Whatever Dude….

Where’s Paul when you need him. I depose the monikers too.

A fine example of Blogism vs journalism… which is all but dead anyways.

Tom Brady is a Leader. Even stubborn shill Joe can see it.

    In BA I Trust!

  23. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

God please tell Tom to coach at some level for this team when he retires!!

  24. Mike Gill Says:

Brady not just a winner he’s the REASON they won every year. Belichek had it easy looking better than he should season after season. Defensive minded genius my ass. Look what sucking NFL/BLM dong did for him and Cam this season. What a shame.

    Go Tampa!
