Jason Pierre-Paul Has A Famous Cheerleader

January 29th, 2021

Nine years, one broken neck, one position change, one chronic knee issue and 2 1/2 fewer fingers later, Jason Pierre-Paul has returned to the Super Bowl as the same punishing force he was for the Giants during their 2011 championship season.

Few defensive ends in NFL history have sustained excellence for so long while enduring so much.

But that’s JPP. Doubting the guy is always a bad idea.

The Buccaneers’ lone Pro Bowler this season (he had more official passes defensed than Sean Murphy-Bunting) has long commanded the respect of his coaches and teammates.

And one of his most famous former comrades took to Twitter this week to cheer for his him, Eli Manning.

Joe just thought that was very cool to see from Manning.

Damn, Joe is fired up to watch JPP in the Super Bowl. An extra week of rest for that knee combined with a guy who will give every ounce of energy he has to bring home his — and the Bucs’ — second Super Bowl trophy; it should be a fun day for the Chiefs’ backup left tackle.

  3. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I wanted us to draft JPP because I remember him at USF.
Glad he is playing for us now!
If somehow we can get a lead on the Chiefs, it could be a very long day for Mahomes, especially with both their starting Tackles out.

  4. lowercaseg Says:

Should’ve drafted him, he loves the bucs and the area.

  5. Bird Says:

Jpp will get two weeks recovery on knee. He will be ready to eat come super bowl.

  6. ocala Says:

JPP and Shaq need to feast on these backup tackles.

  7. Brian Says:

    Cool! Great picture

  8. m0j0 Says:

It’s going to be the JPP and Shaq Attack show for sure!

The young lady on the left reminds me of my Polynesian wife when we met….Yowza!

  10. I CARE NOW Says:

Love that pic of JPP with “GERS” in the background. LMAO

  11. Casual Observer Says:

Ocala – Thinking the same thing. Hope so.

  12. Kentucky Buc Says:

Eli gets way too much credit for those Super Bowls. Jpp and Strahan and those two defenses won those games. Strahan talks about how he couldn’t believe Brady got back up from some of those hits.

  13. Cannon Says:

I wonder if JPP ever thinks about the fact that he is going to play in a SuperBowl in the same stadium he used to play in for USF?

  14. Karma Says:

Its worrisome that JPP, Lavonte, and both starting safeties did not practice today.

  15. Kentucky Buc Says:

@Karma. Resting a lot of guys right now. Letting them heal up. It’s all good

I was fortunate enough to visit the Bucs headquarters the last time I was in Tampa a few years back and took a tour of the facility. Most impressive was the lobby with the statues and Gruden cheering on the sideline during their first SB victory.

So Joe, what happens to that lobby when the Bucs win this year’s SB, and who knows, maybe next years too? Glazer’s may need to add on a new museum-wing to the building and call it the “Den of Da-Champions”?

  17. Liaastnfrmafar Says:

There is no contact in practices, if they add def schemes or O plays the player doesn’t have to be on the field to absorb those. They will do walk throughs next week. Get them healthy.

  18. NO LIFE MATTERS Says:

@Jaymiss Pick6 again. The young lady on the left reminds me of my Polynesian wife when we met….Yowza!

YOUR WIFE IS A LITTLE THICKER AND WAY MORE HOT 🥵, tell her I said hi bro, thanks again “Pick6 Again”.

  19. #1bucsfan Says:

Ocala exactly. Mahomie needs to be running for his life most of the game for us to have a chance. Also someone on the defense needs to have a game changing play like in the last 3 playoff games

  20. james west Says:

i remember him calling out our defense as a bunch of softies, he was pissed, and shortly after we had a couple highly drafted loafers hit the road jack

If any of you guys watched the NFL Mic’ up video for championship weekend, there is a moment towards the end of the game where JPP is trying to rally everyone to hold strong and get a stop. You hear him saying “it’s taken me 8 years to get back here, we’re not stopping now” or something similar to that.

    Love it.
