As much as Joe sings the praises of Wirfs, it’s easy to sometimes forget there is another Bucs rookie who is balling out. That would be safety Antoine Winfield.
Damn if he doesn’t remind Joe of Rondé Barber the way he blitzes. And while he may be smallish for a safety, he’s got the smarts and the heat-seeking missile mentality of another Bucs Hall of Fame finalist, John Lynch.
Winfield also displays the all-out effort that every player getting paid in the NFL should display.
Bucs superfan Steven Cheah, a producer for Barstool Sports, did a cut-up video of some of Winfield’s best plays last week against the Dixie Chicks. And damn, when Winfield is highlighted on All-22 video, it gets Joe downright jacked.

Crazy how suddenly fast that AW enters “camera view” during plays on TV – when he is on other side of field at beginning of a play – Dude is FAST and ferocious!

Looks like a good draft pick. Solid year. Good blitzer but i want to see him make more plays in coverage, break up some passes and even pick a couple more. The secondary started fast in pass coverage the first half of the year but has regressed after that. Make more plays on the pass, contest the catches. Wirfs has been better than i thought by a mile.

Dude overtook a sprinting Brian Hill to save a touchdown . I mean … To have all the instincts and toughness and finesse he’s got AND closing speed to catch up to a RB at full throttle…. damn!

Great draft pick. Maybe the Bucs should consider his dad for a coaching position. On that note, Brady would make a great head coach. Sign them Licht.
