Giving Props To O-Line

January 11th, 2021

Who is her new Bucs crush?

It seems a Bucs player has caught the eye of NFL Network’s resident it-girl.

Kay Adams, co-host of “Good Morning Football,” had a lot of mad props for the Bucs’ front line this morning and she went so far as to call a member of the line “a total stud.”

Of course, she could be just talking about playing ability, but hey, you only get so many shots in life.

In a breakfast-table discussion, the gang was giving out game balls for the best performances of the Super Wild Card weekend (BTW, how awesome were three playoff games a day in back-to-back days?).

For Adams, her choice was the Bucs’ offensive line.

“I was wrong about Tampa Bay’s offensive line,” Adams said. “I was worried about an offensive line keeping a 43-year old quarterback protected and upright without Dante Scarnecchia (former Patriots OL coach), without what [Tom Brady] is used to, being able to tie his shoes behind an offensive line with the Patriots for two decades.

“I was wrong. This [Bucs] offensive line is awesome. So shout out to Donovan Smith, Ali Marpet, Alex Cappa, Ryan Jensen and Tristan Wirfs who is an absolute stud, a standout player.

“Those 500 yards of offense doesn’t happen if not for those guys on the offensive line.”

So Wirfs, you are now on Kay Adams’ nice list. Just like you are doing at right tackle in your first year in the NFL, make the most of this.

Hop up to New York after the Super Bowl when “Good Morning Football” is scraping for ideas (combine and draft may be pushed back months) and do a sitdown with “Good Morning Football.”

You can see and hear Adams and Michael Robinson discuss the Bucs’ offensive line starting at the 4:02 mark.

    Go get it Mr. Wirfs!

she is a saints lover but good to hear some objective analysis here.

Who was that Idiot that predicted that Brady got sacked at least 10 times against Wash?
    Crackhead.

  4. Ed Says:

Glad to see they are plugging in a bigger man than Ted Larsen at guard to replace Cappa. As bad as Jason Licht was at drafting offensive lineman in years past, I give him thumbs up for Wirfs, Cappa and Marpet.

If Donovan Smith holds up against Cam Jordan then the Bucs should have a very good shot at this one. Devin While better have his jet pack on because JPP, Suh and Barrett looked very slow and old vs WFC.

  5. Bird Says:

How do i get on kate’s shagging list?

  6. chris L Says:

ed – jordan lines up on wirfs side so it might be hendrickson vs smith. if hendrickson plays.

  7. dmatt Says:

One thing I notice when we play the Saints is they try to bully n intimidate our OL. Same can be said about their corners vs our wr. Hopefully DSmith can bring some former buc Donald Penn nastiness to CJordan. Please someone put him on his rear end. My belief is while all eyes r on ME, AB will be the forgotten man n will take advantage of their blind spot. LET’S GET CREATIVE BA!!!

  8. Joe in Michigan Says:

I hope the Bucs O-Line brings the same tenacity to this game. It was Smith’s first playoff game, and he did great. It’ll be harder without Cappa, but there’s some positive momentum in their favor.

  9. VABucfan Says:

Put up or shut up time! Bucs are 0-5 against the Saints since Fitzmagic lit them up opening day 2018. So in other words, BA has not beat them as a Buc. Come out and set the tone early!!!

I wonder if it actually pains Realist and trollmax in their lady parts watching the Bucs win a playoff game? Pup too.

  11. 123urout Says:

Just a warning to our beloved Bucs players to keep their heads cool. Saint’s players like to go in your face and provoking you to hit them just like what they did to Chicago yesterday….. please stay cool and be focus on the task at hand.

I have drooled over Kay Adam’s since she was working with Tom Curran a.news writer in Boston. After next Sunday she will burn her Brees jersey and change to Bucs #76

TBBF has props for Kay Adams…….Joe has “props” for sacks…..

  14. MamaP Says:

Wirfs is the most underrated rookie in the league, imo. IIRC, he’s only allowed one sack on Brady all season. That’s beyond impressive.

  15. Jmarkbuc Says:

Not to take anything away from DS76..

But I’m pretty sure Gronk helped him out.. a lot. Good thing Gronk was signed to block. He had what ? 1 target at Washington?

  16. VABucfan Says:

MamaP, Agreed! He is a beast!!

  17. Seemore Bucs Says:

This game sets up like the 2002 season NFC Title Game against Filthadelphia. They beat us constantly several games in a row, including a big regular season win. All the experts had us losing and those clowns in Filthy were talking about who they wanted to face in the SB just like I hear the Aints debating now about who they will take on in the NFC Championship. This game has that same vibe. Just like Jurevicius’ long gainer was the punch in the face the bully didn’t expect and turned them into the punks we knew they were, AB is going to light up the Aints and lead Tampa Bay to a dominant victor. WE finally retiring that bigoted garden gnome wearing #9 for katrinaville once and for all. GO BUCS!!!!

  18. An Erection For Sacks Says:

    “…….Joe has “props” for sacks…..”

No. Joe has an erection for sacks. An important distinction.

    GO BUCS!!!

  19. gp Says:

We may retire Drew Brees (don’t agree that he is bigoted) but all that means is that he enters the hall ahead of Brady

  20. Dapostman Says:

According to Kay Adams, Bird is definitely NOT the word!

  21. gp Says:

Maybe Joe will let us talk away from the crowd?

  22. gp Says:

    BTW
I think the line crossed is when anyone uses defamatory descriptives and accusations against someone you don’t like.
Tone it down a little and maybe we won’t get nuked as often
