Antonio Brown Out For Sunday

January 22nd, 2021

Bucs WR Antonio Brown.

Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians made it clear.

Furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing Bucs receiver ANtonio Brown will not play Sunday in the NFC title game in Green Bay.

Brown suffered the injury last week at New Orleans. The Bucs as recently as yesterday held out hope Brown might be able to lace up the cleats for the NFC Championship game. Now it is up to Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson.

Arians said that with the expected swelling of Brown’s knee from flying, the swelling likely would not decrease enough for Brown to play.

“I talked to [Brown] this morning,” Arians said. “To put him on the plane and fly up there and have it swell more doesn’t make any sense. He wasn’t as close as we hoped. So we will get him ready for the next [game],” Arians said.

    GO BUCS!!!!

  2. Frankinthe813 Says:

As long as Miller Wil fight for contested balls it’ll be ok. Johnson is a star in waiting

  3. DerrickBrooksGOATLB Says:

Would rather have a healthy Scotty & Tyler out there than AB gimping around if he’s that hurt. Both have filled in admirably throughout the year.

  4. USMC-BUC Says:

would be better with him in but we are deep. Scooter needs to get at least one deep ball and Johnson needs to keep the magic going, lets not call him a star in the making, he has made one great play.

  5. Jmart2470 Says:

Why do I feel like if Evans had the same injury he’d be playing…

  6. 813bucboi Says:

yeah..lol..lets not crown him just yet…lol..

    GO BUCS!!!!

  8. JimmyJack Says:

The only thing that really bothers me with this is that our #2 WR has been awful so far these playoffs. Chris Godwin has gotta step his game up right now.

I have previously said that Chris is a a perfect football player so I do love the kid. But the truth is the truth. Chris has been terrible. The silver lining is its all mental so he can get over ot quickly and put those drops behind him.

Secondly Ill give Mike Evans a pass since its the Saints. They always shut him down. But hes gonna have to figure that one out in the offseason or something. Sorry, bug time game. You gotta show up. No excuses. I would like to see him make amnends for vanishing this Sunday.

i just want to win i dont care how

Huge loss, AB could be the difference of L vs the W. I don’t care what happened first game that was then, this is now. Brady’s last int off Millers arms and that great catch Johnson made he curled in when Brady thought he was curling out which tells me because of the low amount of reps they are not fully on same page.

  12. Bucamania Says:

That’s okay. It’s Tyler Johnson time!

  13. Nick2 Says:

Lets pray there is a next game! Go BUCS!!!!! Scotty Miller to the rescue!!!

  14. 813bucboi Says:

VV looks like he’s put on a few…lol…and not in a bad way…he looks even bigger and stronger…

    GO BUCS!!!!

  15. Buc1987 Says:

    Scotty Scotty Scotty!

  16. Nick2 Says:

USMC-BUC check out the Hall of Fame bowl catches he made thats why we got him. He destroyed Auburn and BA was there in person. I know its college but Auburn has always had great defenses.

    jimmyjack

    cant disagree…

    GO BUCS!!!

  18. PolkFan Says:

as much as i hate to see AB go down, i think scotty adds that important deep factor element to this offense. that little hesi he did on janoris jenkins was a thing of beauty.

  19. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Just the THREAT of a speedster like Scotty Miller, makes us hard to game plan for, with all our other offensive threats.

  20. alton green Says:

an extra week to heal right?

  21. alton green Says:

lokog; As the late Al Davis (Raiders) said “just win baby” Or the late Vince Lombardy said “winning is not the most important thing, it’s the ONLY thing”

  22. Bucfan81 Says:

  23. Robert Says:

    take the bus!!!!!!!!!

  24. David Crum Says:

  26. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I’m thinking more 2 TE sets…..with Brate catching more balls……Gronk Blocking…….pound the rock…..as Chuckie would say!!!

  27. Topgun Says:

All BS, Im thinking slight tear in ACL or he’d go

  28. Tom M Sumner Says:

AB,,REST UP FOR THE SHOW IN 2 WEEKS! LFG.

  29. WillieG Says:

Throw the dude in the back of a van and drive him to Green Bay. Two or three drivers can share the driving responsibility as AB lies down in back with his leg elevated.

You know, this isn’t that crazy of an idea. If the swelling from flying is the lone concern, put him in the back of a tricked out van with two or three security guys and drive straight through to Wisconsin. After the game, he can hitch a ride on the team plane. If his knee swells, so what? He’s got two weeks to let the swelling subside.

  31. Jmarkbuc Says:

About 24 hour drive from Tampa… better get started.

  32. Pete I Says:

Could have used him as a decoy like the Jets did with Maynard in Super Bowl 3 but it’s not like there aren’t plenty of weapons.

  33. The Saint Says:

It’s not going to matter . It’s the Packers time.
