SAS To Bucs Fans: Calm Down

December 10th, 2020

People overreacting on Bucs.

Joe isn’t sure if these words are just real talk or the kiss of death.

There are more than a few Bucs fans wondering if the team may collapse after an awful November in which the team went 2-3. One BSPNer believes this is hogwash.

And that talking head is none other than Screamin’ Stephen A. Smith. He took to one of his hollering shows this morning (it was either “Stay in Bed” or “First Take”) and SAS reassured Bucs fans that the November record of the Bucs is misleading.

“I want to remind y’all that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that lost three of the last four, who are those three losses to?” SAS said, suggesting the Bucs lost to three of the best teams in the NFL, two of which are heavy favorites to reach the Super Bowl.

“If you are going to lose to some teams, those are the kind of teams you need to lose to,” SAS said. “I’m not saying it’s a good thing. But ain’t no shame — it was a shame how they lost to New Orleans — but there ain’t no shame to lose to the Saints, Rams and Chiefs.”

SAS is confident the Bucs will make the playoffs, given what he believes is a cupcake schedule the rest of the way. But SAS did have a catch to his boosting of the Bucs.

“If the Bucs lose any of those games,” SAS said of the remaining schedule for the Bucs, “they don’t deserve to go to the playoffs.”

Joe won’t go that far. If the Bucs finish 3-1 they win 10 games and that certainly should get them in the playoffs.

But Sunday is a very real test. If the Bucs cannot beat the Vikings, not only is a playoff berth in peril, how can we expect the Bucs to have a shot of any playoff win?

Is very very hard to admit it, but I have to say that I agree with this clown

As others have said, this team can beat anyone and they can lose to anyone. The Vikings are a team they can beat, and I think they will. However, if they can’t beat the Vikings at home, I don’t have much confidence they’ll go very far even if they do make the playoffs. We need a strong performance this week.

Alas, Stephan A. Smith looks like he belongs to Goon Island from the Popeye the Sailor Man cartoon.

I feel so nervous for this Sunday, that I’m scared I may hurl by kickoff.

The past 9 months of the highest expectations could all be crushed in three days. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

The Rams and KC was close and Sean Payton once again has Bucs gamebook in his pocket. We need to aquire a not so expensive Saint in FA.

If we don’t beat the Vikings on Sunday I seriously doubt I can watch another game this yr. This coming from a fan that was in the stands on Sept 12th, 1976. And was there in New Orleans on Dec 11th the next year when we finally won our first Flippin’ game.
I have been putting up with losing for so long that I don’t think my old ass mind can take much more.

Funny though that we got Hank Stram and Don Coryell fired that same year. 🙂

If we are who we say we are? Then Run The Table.

@SB : Your comment is awaiting moderation.: I remember Stram burned the game film for that 33-14 whipping the Saints took from the Bucs. McKay sent a game ball to Johnny Carson and I think lots of fans sent copies of the next day’s Tampa Trib out to NBC in Burbank as well for Carson. Interesting fact I remember: Stram used to do commentary for the Bucs preseason games on WTOG back in the ’80s with Willie Joe Namath….

@SB, totally agree with you bro

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain….

BS. Great teams play up to the level of competition, and occasionally get caught napping by lesser opponents. There was some truly bad coaching this past month against good teams. They got exposed.
