Panic Rankings

December 3rd, 2020

Joe is personally in full-on crisis mode.

But panic? Not quite there yet.

But Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com says Bucs fans should have their paper bags handy just in case.

The Bucs have lost three of their last four games and in the five games they played in the month of November, they looked more like a 4-12 team than a playoff team, which has Joe on the verge of freakout.

In a list Rosenthal compiled called “Panic Rankings,” teams are named that should be hyperventilating right now because their playoff chances are circling the drain.

Rosenthal has the Bucs at No. 6.

The Bucs and Browns should both end the longest playoff droughts in the NFL this season. Tom Brady in Tampa has been a big value add in entertainment this year. The Bucs were aiming higher than being the team no one wants to face (or trusts) in the playoffs, but there are worse fates.

Rosenthal explained there enough wrong things going on with the Bucs to keep an eye on them for a freefall collapse. But he thinks the Bucs will luck out and back their way into a wild card berth.

In other words, Rosenthal is insinuating what others have said. The Bucs are not playing good football right now but they have the talent to overcome.

“This Joe” is still nervous as hell.

I will not read another post from you all year with this attitude. I live in Idaho used to live in Tampa and all I hear on the Ira cast is no giving up, things can and will get better. If this is the joe I believe it to maybe stop holler in like that SAS on BSPN and provide us all with some hope. Funniest thing I heard all week is when in the 2nd half Brady is almost laughing off the play call and doing his thing which is great. Cant wait til next podcast when you you turn coat then praise the team. Good god boys get it together. Brings us all together. That’s what the team needs

  2. Calm it down Says:

Agreed with Koryc. Joe being extra dramatic rn.

  3. Architek Says:

Joe (we know which one), I thought you were being over the top but the last two games happened so I won’t knock you for your concerns. However, I think we know who there my are now and they’re a good not great team.

    That’s okay for year 1.

They can turn it around. They have the talent. The way the Bucs have played the past month has really spooked Joe. Not the month you want to play your worst ball.

Gotta take advantage of this soft schedule in December.

  5. Clean House Says:

I think they can and will turn it around. These guys are all stars and have got to have some personal pride. The only thing holding them back from playing hard close games is themselves. The coaches need to take their heads out of their arses and simplify things. Do what has worked, the team has already shown it can be dominant.

  6. Anonymous Says:

When they win the line of scrimmage, then we have hope, If they do not, then simple, painful thing to see. The way they have been handled for the most part since the Giant game, does not offer hope. We know they will be addressing the lines in the draft, specifically the Oline. Clean Jersey Brady, competitive, manhandled again, and a painful thing to watch. GO BUCS!!! TIME TO MAN UP!!!!

  7. Clean House Says:

Go Bucs!! We have the goat now and Gronk and AB and Fournette and Mcoy on top of our own guys- We should crush it and I’m ready to roll in the playoffs!!!

    Playoff football!!!!
    With Tom Brady!!!

    Let’s go!!!

  8. UKBuccaneer Says:

You know why things feel so bad? Because everyone believed the preseason hype – everyone accepted the Lombardi in August.

This is a good team suffering growing pains. They’ll make the playoffs, and we’ll see what happens. Relax.

  9. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

Why be nervous??? You’re a Bucs fan, expect the worse so you don’t lose your mind! They are what they are. The talent is there but coaching and execution is not. There’s a very good chance they will go 2-2 down the stretch and go 9-7 get beat out of a playoff berth while the 7-9 Giants get in as NFC East champs.

  10. Pewter Power Says:

Didn’t need media hype to tell what I already knew this should be a great not good team. Not talking undefeated or one loss great but that maybe this wouldn’t be a team always playing catch up like last year. the season is almost over can’t be figuring things out against playoff teams we’ve only beat one of those so far and that was an anomaly game against the packers. Unless BA stubborn arse changes his philosophy at least for this season one and done. Everyone one in the league knows Byron leftwich play calling sheet by heart, he uses the same one every week.

We’ll make the playoffs yea but we already know what will happen. Defense will be on the field more than offense just like last year. Don’t see us getting past the Saints I mean how could you see that if you haven’t since fitzmagic week one start? Can’t run or throw or coach against them.

  11. ClodHopper Says:

I know we’ve been a horrible team for a really long time but every time we get hyped the “doom and gloom” Joe is always there to point out flaws that will hurt us. Heres the thing, hes usually been right.

This also shows many people out there dont want any media person to be honest with their opinions. They want to hear their own opinion mirrored back at them. Speaking for myself, that’s not why I come here.

People asking Joe for hope must not know Joe’s feelings on that word. 🙂

  12. Rayjay1122 Says:

I just can’t figure out how a team can get worse as a season progresses instead of improving? Not as if we are in a bad situation on the injury front. It is as if the team quit buying in with Brady and the coaching while just going through the motions now.

  13. NPRSageBoy Says:

I thought JayMiss was the reason for missing the playoffs?

Circling the drain and headed to an 8-8 record.

Wait, the GOAT would only be worth a single win over last season?

Looking like JayMiss wasn’t the problem after all

Could it be BA and his massive staff of idiots?

    Peace, out

  14. SlyPirate Says:

    NPRSageBoy … Wait, what?

    Record After 12 Games
    2018 – 5-7
    2019 – 5-7
    2020 – 7-5

    Where did you get 8-8?

  15. NPRSageBoy Says:

    SlyPirate….

1-3 in final four games gets you to 8-8.

Wake up! This team is playing like crap and circling the drain.

Kirk Cousins will light this secondary up like the Rockefeller Christmas Tree and then it’s panic time.

    Peace, out

  16. ClodHopper Says:

    Sage

Yep. We must not forget Kirk Cousins is a thorn in our side just like Nick Foles and Case freaking Keenum.

KISS… the reality is that they CANNOT LOSE ANOTHER GAME THIS YEAR!

  19. RealBiucFan Says:

To answer your question Rayjay. It’s called adjustments. Opposing teams have film and prepare and their players execute the game plan. They get paid too. Its up to bucs coaches to adjust to their adjustments. Fans thought all the team had to do is just show up and they would go 14-2, have home field throughout the playoffs, and win the SB at home. It doesn’t work that way. How do I know? I was one of those fans and I’m sure a vast majority of bucs fans 99% of them felt the same way.
