Antonio Brown The Mentor

Antonio Brown

Joe hadn’t realized this nugget previously and fresh comments from a Bucs player make it fresh news tonight.

The man the Buccaneers put on their radio network this evening is cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting, the second-year man out of Central Michigan University.

Furniture-hurling, bicycle-throwing Antonio Brown, the seven-time Pro Bowl receiver, also played for Central Michigan. And Murphy-Bunting said tonight that the two have a three-year relationship.

That was news to Joe.

It turns out Brown followed Murphy-Bunting’s play in college and used to tell him “see you soon,” referring to Murphy-Bunting eventually landing the NFL. And Murphy-Bunting added that they stayed in touch until Brown arrived in Tampa.

Brown is a highly energetic and positive presence in the Bucs’ locker room, per Murphy-Bunting, and the Bucs corner said he was pumping up Brown to teammates when the Bucs signed him midseason. It’s obvious Murphy-Bunting is a big fan of Brown and he added that Brown’s heralded and storied work ethic measures up in person.

Joe found it a little uplifting to hear a good thing about Brown that was outside the realm of coachspeak and a judge giving him a light sentence.

Can someone explain to me how JPP was the ONLY Bucs player to make the pro-bowl team?!

    What a freaken joke!!!

How is DW45 or LD54 not there as ILB??
They took Fred Warner & Seattle’s MLB..

White has much better numbers than either of them???

Stupid popularity contest instead of who balled out.
Warner’s on a losing team this year??

Gee, maybe Brown can coach Murphy Bunting not to get faked out by the first feint move a receiver throws at him. Lousy man for man coverage he was beat badly and often especially in the first half.

I also heard smb interview this afternoon. He sounded extremely confident for a guy that looks lost and continues to get abused week in and out. Maybe be should be focusing on film study as opposed to a radio spot.. just sayn

  4. Jmarkbuc Says:

Maybe AB would play some corner.

SMB looks horrible! Bowles not recognizing the limitations of his secondary is why we keep starting so bad. After SMBs last several games, he should be on the bench, not the radio. The way our corners are retreating from the receivers it looks an awful lot like Mike Smiths defense. Then they play the second half.

Unfortunately u do not see AFC games to often. Put all Browns antics aside and I know not an easy thing to do but he is one of the best at his position, ur not a 7 time pro bowler by mistake. That includes the locker room. There have and are a number of bad men in the NFL, Haley, Hunt, Peterson, (slap on the wrist) Tyree Hill, etc. Give him a chance he will help take u to the promised land.

  11. Beeej Says:

Lol, SMB conjures memories or Rod ‘Toast’ Jones. (As I recall, he eventually had a long career)

Man-O-Man!!! Have you all ever watched a football game? CORNERS GET BEAT !
IF you want proof look how many teams score points .
