Ali Marpet Out, Two Receivers On COVID List

November 14th, 2020

The Bucs roster will be thinner than expected tomorrow — and hopefully it doesn’t get any thinner.

Per the Twittering of in-house Buccaneers reporter Scott Smith, the Bucs have placed returner/receiver Jaydon Mickens and practice squad receiver Cyril Grayson on the COVID-19 list. And Smith also reports starting left guard Ali Marpet won’t play because he hasn’t left the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Marpet didn’t play last Sunday for the same reason, and Joe Haeg filled in with poor results, per the eye test and Bucco Bruce Arians.

Joe’s really not too concerned about these losses for Sunday, but much more concerned about potential issues with The Sickness, especially in the wide receivers room.

I AM concerned about Marpet not being able to go. It’s no coincidence that Brady was roughed up, for the first time this year, when Ali was out.

Worried about marpet for long term. Pretty worrisome when a player misses multiple games due to a concussion. His health is paramount, and it is always at risk when your brain takes a longer time than normal to heal from trauma.

I was lamenting Joe’s “thankfully” comment about CAR’s lack of a pass rush and them not being a good team–as if the Bucs always beat lesser opponents. Well, here we are without Marpet. Watch out for that “lack of a pass rush.” This sucks.

    Grayson is out?
    We’re so screwed.

Marpet not playing does suck though.

Perhaps we will see AB return kicks…..

    Marpet concerning……multiple games….

Not the first time brady has been roughed up. Maybe some did not see the bears game. Fun fact…the bucs have lost 3 games. Brady was sacked at least 3 times in each lost. So again, not the first time brady was roughed up. Keep the qb clean. Even more imperative because brady is a statue and the dline knows where he will be every snap.

Going to have to get out to an early lead and lean on the run game. Hopefully, D Smith and Wirfs hold up or it’s going to be a nail biter.

Welp time to switch up my draft kings team😂🤣😂. Derrick Brown is gonna feast on the inside.

  10. Joe in Michigan Says:

The Ghost of Cyril Grayson is haunting the Bucs from the practice squad.

  11. SOEbuc Says:

Run the f#cking ball with Haeg or it’s Tom in the dirt all day on the left side again.

  12. Joe in Michigan Says:

If Haeg can’t do the job, put in Aaron Stinnie or AQ Shipley. The days of leaving someone in there like Caleb Benenoch are over.

  13. DaBux Says:

Agree with Joe. Put in Stinnie or Shipley. We can not afford to have our running game stuffed against one of the worst run defenses in the league. We need to get that ground game going so the play action works.
