Officially “Fingers Crossed” For Chris Godwin Against The Saints

November 4th, 2020

As of yesterday evening, there is real hope at One Buc Palace for Chris Godwin to play Sunday against the Saints.

Eight days ago, Godwin had surgery on a fractured finger but, per Adam Schefter of ESPN last weekend, Bucs officials were hopeful after talking to doctors that Godwin could return within two weeks, aka for Sunday’s huge division game against the Saints.

Last night, Bucco Bruce Arians kept the optimism flowing during his visit to Bucs Total Access. Arians, ironically, described his mindset as “fingers crossed” for Godwin to be back on the field as soon as Sunday.

The silver lining in Godwin’s busted finger is the rest time it forced or Godwin’s injured hamstring.

Remember, Godwin caught all nine targets that came his way against the Raiders two Sundays ago. And that was on a hamstring Arians characterized as 80 percent.

In this all-in season, Joe has no doubt that the Bucs would welcome Godwin on the field immediately if he gets medical clearance, even if his finger isn’t fully healed. But the Bucs also have Antonio Brown ready to play, assuming he doesn’t have a meltdown at his first official practice today, so there is less pressure on a Godwin return.

If the Bucs can finish the season with Godwin, Evans, AB & Gronk healthy this could be a fun end of the year…

I’m a big fan of Godwin but dude has gotta get and stay healthy

  3. Casual Observer Says:

With Evens, Godwin, AB, Miller, and Johnson, has any team ever had a better set of WRs? Three all-pros and two budding stars. Oh my, indeed.

this is the beautiful thing about having tom brady…

godwin will just be out there decoying and causing match up issues and just when the saints think he’s not going to do sheet out there, tom brady will deliver a big pass to him as the saints slack off chris…

i really think godwin is out there a bit, and it is completely under brady’s jurisdiction weather the ball is throw his way or not…

you can really throw to him much if at all…can’t risk that finger or hand for the ret of the year…

expect godwin in the mix with no real designated plays…

but if someone will catch the saint’s sleeping it’s tom

Hope the offense remembers who the culprit was in the cheap shot that concussed Ungodly. He hasn’t been 100% since. ME13 is getting up to full strength and fruitcake AB may start. Give Ungodly another week to heal.
