Gameday Tampa Bay!

November 2nd, 2020

Game 8

Bucs (5-2) at Giants (1-6)

Kickoff: 8:15 p.m.

TV: ESPN; WMOR-TV Channel 32.

Streaming: Fans may stream the broadcast from Buccaneers.com or on a mobile device using one of the following: Buccaneers Official app, NFL app or Yahoo! Sports. Geographic restrictions apply.

Radio: Buccaneers Radio Network WXTB-FM 97.9 in the Tampa-St. Petersburg region; 97.9 FM ESPN Radio in Tallahassee (Transmisiones de radio en español en WTMP-FM 96.1 y WMGG-AM 1470 en Tampa); SiriusXM Channel 81 (Bucs broadcast) or Channel 88 (Westwood One national broadcast).

Weather: It will be a ch-ch-ch-chilly game in New Jersey. At kickoff per AccuWeather.com, the temperature is expected to be 39 degrees with wind gusts up to 31 mph. Skies will be mostly clear. Conditions should remain steady throughout the game with the temperature only dipping one degree by game’s end but still with gusty winds.

Odds: Per BetMGM, as of noon Monday, Bucs -12.5; 45.5-under.

Outlook: First, when is the last time the Bucs played a road game under 40 degrees in which they were a road favorite by 12.5 points? Times are a changin.’ Joe firmly believes this game is in the bag, barring a boatload of injuries. The Bucs are a good team. They look disciplined and motivated. They are loaded with talent. Teams like this don’t lose to rotten teams on the road. The Giants will be without Devonta Freeman, so stopping whatever is left of the Giants’ run game should be a cinch. It’s time for revenge against Danny Dimes. Last year the rookie Giants quarterback took a game that was handed to him on a silver platter and sliced up the Bucs defense for a midsection-kick-in-the-groin loss. The Bucs had that game in the bag the way the Bucs were throwing the ball. All of a sudden, Arians took the ball out of the hands of Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, and gave it to Peyton Barber to seal the win. Instead, a seal bit Arians in the tush. Let’s not let that happen tonight, guys. If Brady is hot, let him win the game. Likewise, if the Giants cannot stop RoJo, feed him until he can no longer eat. If the Bucs can get a big lead, Joe would be OK if Arians starts sitting starters to give them extra rest for Sunday night’s game with the Saints.

    QUESTION…

Where are all the posters on this site that were crying about giving up a 4th to the 49ers to move up one spot to secure Wirfs?

They sure are quiet now. Wirfs currently grading so far as the #1 OT from the 2020 Draft.

Yeah, I’d say the 4th rounder well worth it to guarantee Lynch didn’t trade the pick to someone that wanted to move up for the last of the top graded tackles in that draft.

  3. BradyBucs Says:

I still believe our #1 WEAKNESS is our Secondary.

Our young corners have struggled at times. I think our solid LBs and D-Line are helping ‘mask’ the problems in our secondary. I just hope that weak secondary doesn’t come back to haunt us.

Regardless of how the Packers game ended up, anyone that watched the game saw that Rodgers are unstoppable in their first two drives and ate our secondary up. It’s only once we got more pressure on him and rattled him a bit than the game turned around.

I would have felt a lot better if we had traded for a Vet Corner before the trade deadline. We’re a Carlton Davis pulled hamstring or hurt ankle away from being in deep trouble in that secondary.

That ain’t happening tonight. Bank on it.

San Fran is selling. I sure a backup could be had for cheap.

  7. Tampabuscsbro Says:

I have to agree with Boston on this one. Granted I am not worried about starters but more so there is nothing behind those starters that can play anywhere near a competent level.

For as much hooting and hollering there is about pass rush depth secondary depth is more important.

  8. Casual Observer Says:

Agree – A CB for depth would be nice.

  9. Boston Boy Says:

Ixnay Joe. The model above looks like Jints fan with all that blue. Surely we can find a Tampa Bay vixen to walk he plank in Pewter and Red for next game.

  10. 813bucboi Says:

defense will be good as long as we’re healthy…we gotta be sure we can outscore our opponents….

i wouldve liked to see a pass rusher…..but the additions we’ve made are solid…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

    Boston Boy….you’re so…….new!

  12. JimmyJack Says:

Pewter not on fox but it is broadcast on lacal channel. Channel 12 on my TV, WMOR. Just looked it up.

Its the same channel they put preseason games on I believe. You should get it.

  15. JimmyJack Says:

Yall talking about CB depth need to realize Bunting is our first backup to guard the perimeter……I know a few of you just had a minature meltdown when I mentioned Bunting but I would ask you to go please look at the Raiders game. When Catlton went down Bunting fill in his spot. He didnt become a instant liability. He actually seemed to do a good job. Couldnt see everything on TV but he didnt give up much guarding the sideline. Yall worried about nothing.

What I didnt notice was who played slot to cover Buntings spot. Im guessing we brought in a extra safety.

  16. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Right in Dewey!

“Going to be a close game

Giants def isnt bad and their strength is their run defense

Lame brain Leftwich going to run into the middle every 1st down

Brady is going to need Fourente in the screen game to loosen the Giants defense

If BA/BL plan is for Rojo to win this game Bucs will lose

Brady is going to have to cleanup leftwich incompetence

    Hopefully there is enough time”

    Pewter:

    Nope. Not on FOX.

  19. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Desmond King to the Titans for a sixth…………..No idea why we decided we shouldn’t do that. This is needed more then an extra pass rusher.

  20. BradyBucs Says:

    KOBER FAKER.

You have to have the WORST ‘prediction’ record of any poster in the history of this site. So much so that you made a bet you welched on when you were wrong.

Congratulations, I’ve never seen anyone more wrong than you. So it’s ironic that you’re some clown put your comments inside quotes too. ROFLMAO.

  21. BradyBucs Says:

    JimmyJack,

You’re NUTS if you don’t think we need depth in our secondary and that more experience wouldn’t greatly improve us.

Secondary is our biggest weak spot on the entire team BY FAR.

  22. 813bucboi Says:

    jimmyjack

i agree regarding the secondary and ive mentioned several times SMB is a outside CB playing slot….

    imo,we’re thin at DE/OLB….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  23. JonJohn Says:

    She can get it

  24. JimmyJack Says:

Brady Bucs…..More depth at secondary would greatly improve us? How would they do that? By keeping the bench so warm tonight our starters wont realize how cold it is?

Maybe ypur going a little to far with this?

Honestly if you wanna greatly improve our secondary it would make more sense for me if you said to bring in a starting corner who could outright replace Bunting and his role to help defend the run and move into the slot on passing downs.

But if we are talking strictly depth I have to go passrusher. Its very simple in mine opinion……..Just imagine how devestating a loss to Shaq Barrett or Carlton Davis would be……At corner we can bring in Bunting to guard the sideline. At edge we are talking Anthony Nelson.

Maybe you could argue Nelson is a better replacement. Its arguable at best. But your saying by far hes a better replacement…….excuse me……BY FAR. Give me a break.

“It is said that good NFL organizations get rid of players sooner rather than later, meaning before they lose their value.“ – the Patriots thought that of Tom Brady too

    ………..

You must not pay attention to Football much. Brady left them the Minute his contract was up. He is the one that left sooner rather than later. Or maybe you think he wanted to stay with a team with zero weapons and a horrible Defense.

  29. Jaycorr Says:

Was mad there was no game yesterday. But now thats it’s Monday night im ready to roll!! LFG TAMPPPPPAAAA BAYYYYYY

Agree…… BradyBucs I still believe our #1 WEAKNESS is our Secondary GO BUCS!!!!

  31. Jaycorr Says:

Wait until joe posts the girls for the panthers lol

  32. Leighroy Says:

I don’t think ‘improvements” are necessary in the secondary, but an insurance policy would be worthwhile. Nice 3 man rotations at both safety and cb could be blown up by injury.

  33. Defense Rules Says:

    @813bucboi … “imo,we’re thin at DE/OLB….”

EXACTLY bucboi. Bucs have very little depth behind JPP & Shaq. Thankfully both of them are true warriors & just about never come off the field. Wish we’d re-signed Carl Nassib; he did well in this defense.

  34. Defense Rules Says:

JimmyJack … Nelson is coming along, but slowly. In his 7 games, he’s only got 7 solo tackles (plus 2 assists), 0 sacks, 2 QB Hits & 1 TFL (in his 100 total defensive snaps). Our only other OLB, Cam Gill, has a grand total of 6 defensive snaps & 2 tackles. If Shaq or JPP go down for any period of time, our pass rush would be hurting.

  35. Buccystyle Says:

    @dewey hell yea! GO BUCS!!

  36. Baz Says:

“nd had his fourth-career rushing touchdown last week.”
Brady’s had 24 career rushing TDs.

  37. JimmyJack Says:

Defense Rules yes and I like Nelson. But I only like him in hos role. Agree with you that if JPP or Shaq go down we are hurting. I just dont see Nelson stepping up and playing big if hes taking 85% of the snaps……Furthermore if we add a good passrusher(Clay Matthews for example) he can have a immediate impact taking those rotation snaps from Nelson and he can probably do more with them. Also I can immagine we can use a guy like Matthews more then Nelson which can help keep JPP and Shaq fresher(in game and for the long haul). This can make the defense as a whole better…….One small move but can make a huge impact IMO.

  38. David Says:

I better take this Giants defense seriously. They are good.
The Bucs defense should be able to dominate the Giants offense though

  39. TheShaz Says:

    Thanks to Bucs team history

I fear this as a LET DOWN GAME

Last two week the Bucs showed the ability to close games out very good. So maybe the culture is changing there as well.

  40. #1bucfan Says:

Man everyone saying this is a cupcake game or a easy win. I really hope they are focused on the giants and not next week against the saints. Sorry I have ptsd from the lost decade and we lose against bad teams

  41. BradyBucs Says:

    JimmyJack,

I *did* say we need to bring in a Vet corner. That would be to play opposite Davis. It wouldn’t be to ride the bench. SMB and Dean are still a liability.

  42. Jmarkbuc Says:

Been saying it for three days, the Giants are like the Bears. We never seem to play well against them. Bucs better not look ahead, keep their eye on the prize tonight….

    Go Bucs!!

  43. Jmarkbuc Says:

    BradyBucs

If 23 starts out sleepwalking again, I hope they pull him and put Edwards in.

  44. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Moderation Joe ? Seriously?

  45. Jmarkbuc Says:

And now you just pulled it all together?

  46. Jmarkbuc Says:

Let’s try it again… BradyBucs…If SMB starts out sleepwalking again I hope they put Edwards in

  47. JimmyJack Says:

Brady if you wanna bring in a Corner to replace Bunting I will take some acception but you probably got a good point.

But your talking about bringing in a corner to play opposite Davis and teplace Dean thats not happening over my dead body. I am smashing the table so hard for Dean Ill break it in half.

No way no how you are replacing Dean after 20 career games. This kid can play and has proven it. I am continuing to let Dean keep developing and get better and better. Absolutely no chance Om letting you bring in some band aid journeyman and push Dean out of the pucture. Dean is part of the future plan here and a guy I want for the next 5-6 maybe 10 years. Your plan to replace him is more harm then good.

I could almost say the same for Bunting but he has not been solid the last few games….If you wanna upgrade his spot while stunting developement you can talk me into that one……But you trying to replace Dean? Get off the sauce bro. That option arent even on the table.

  48. JimmyJack Says:

  51. 813bucboi Says:

I think we get up early, stay up and run the ball throughout

    GO BUCS

  52. BradyBucs Says:

    LOL @ JimmyJack

Dean has been burned and out of position so many times it’s not even funny. He has upside potential but he like SMB are still liabilities. The secondary would be better with a Vet corner starting over Dean. Doesn’t mean Dean shouldn’t rotate in and play, but Dean has not proven that he’s a consistent NFL cover corner yet, not even close.

  53. BradyBucs Says:

    Dean already beaten multiple times.

  54. Wesley Says:

That was a first down on second down.

  55. Wesley Says:

Should have challenged that spot on the 2nd down run. That was a first down.
