“Death By 1,000 Paper Cuts”

November 28th, 2020

As a 13-year linebacker in the AFC with the Ravens and Jets, Bart Scott faced Tom Brady many times and even beat him in the playoffs.

Nowadays, Scott is a very outspoken analyst on New York radio and for BSPN. And it was on his TV gig last week where he went after Bucco Bruce Arians for having a bloated ego and being unwilling to best utilize Tom Brady.

Scott is appalled that the Bucs aren’t getting the most from their backfield and tight ends.

“Bruce Arians is so busy trying to throw the ball deep down the field, he doesn’t recognize that he has a quarterback that will slice you up, death by 1,000 paper cuts,” Scott bellowed.

“You have the ability to have two dynamic running backs, two great tight ends, but you’re trying to do the shiny new toy and throw down the field. That’s not what Tom Brady does.”

Scott noted Arians paid for his stubbornness last season with Jameis Winston throwing 30 picks. But fellow panelist Damien Woody, who blocked for Brady in New England for four seasons, defended Arians a bit.

Woody said Arians pointing out Brady mistakes publicly is just Arains just being his straight-shooter self, “what Brady signed up for.” And Woody wondered whether Brady has daily meetings with Arians about the game plan like he did with Bill Belicheat.

Joe thinks so much of this Brady drama is just a giant bag of hot air. The Bucs got beaten by the Saints (twice), the Bears and the Rams. All three teams have elite defenses. In Brady’s other seven games, he’s undefeated with 20 touchdowns and 2 picks, with extraordinary overall numbers.

Joe will reserve panic and freakout for when Brady slumps against a bad defense, and the Bucs don’t have a good one remaining on their regular-season schedule.

If you can’t beat a good defense you have no business being in the playoffs.

I say again, ALL JAMEIS fault!! The reason why the washed up GOAT is here!! right? He aint here but somehow I bet its still his fault! LMFAOWROTF Arians and Light have ruined what is the most talented team in the NFL with by far the most talented recieving corp top to bottom. And a more than competent slew of running backs. Worst coaching in the NFL considering the talent level!!

  3. Mort Says:

Aaron Rodgers was right. Everyone needs to R-E-L-A-X!

  4. Hodad Says:

Have to agree with everything Scott said. When Bruce signed Brady he said his biggest job was to not screw this up. Well if we get beat down by another good team, Bruce, you screwed up. This Brady, Arains marriage doesn’t work, who will the divorce lawyer Glazers represent?

  5. Frank Pillow Says:

This is setting up to be a real ‘Hindenburg’ of a stretch run—where the entire organization goes up in flames. In our case the spark will be caused by two enormous egos clashing over the game plan…

  6. Bob in Valrico Says:

It was not uncommon for Brady yo use ten or passes to backs in a game to move the chains wit5h the Pats. Fix this, and he might be more effective. I would like to see more focus on getting the ball to our proven receivers that were already on the team. His timing with them will not improve until he does.

  7. Bojim Says:

Brady is fine. BA and BL have not been inspiring confidence in me the last handful of games and the defense needs to adjust a lot sooner.

Chiefs are made of balsa wood and duct tape. Kelce is soft. Hill is a prima donna. Mahomes is afraid to run.

They had to keep coming from behind last year for a reason.

    Bucs win.

  9. Etzel Says:

If you had no problems with the coaching last year, but are throwing a fit about it this year…. YOU MIGHT BE A RACIST.

Mod- please let us know when you come back to reality

The man in charge of where the ball is going is the last man to touch the freaking football. Clue: That ain’t BA!

In some cases…rookies…guys hanging on…the coach gets absolute loyalty.

There were always questions about not whether but how often JW went rogue.

Tom Brady is the GOAT. He has six rings already. He has nothing left to lose. BA is pretty much in the same boat but not nearly the clippings and titles. But no matter what BA says…Brady is the guy on the field with the ball in his hands.

HE decides where it is going. Does ANYBODY here really believe that Tom “The Goat” Brady is being forced to throw the ball where he doesn’t wish to throw it? Really?

  12. Rod Munch Says:

Two great TEs? He does know OJ has been out for like 6 games now, right?

Brate isn’t great, isn’t even close, he’s a good pass catcher who brings nothing else to the table, and he can’t get open in one-on-one situations.

Also this fake news narrative about the deep ball being the issue is just tarded. These morons in the media get a narrative going then just repeat each other over and over again and then they actually think their fake narrative is true, it’s really stupid stuff.

  13. Sesteprenelicus Says:

three of those four games were also at night, as was the game against the Giants that was mercifully a win

  14. unbelievable Says:

So only being able to beat lousy defenses will somehow get us to the Super Bowl?

Bold strategy Cotton, let’s see if it pays off.

I’m pretty sure if Leftwich calls for a deep ball, and Brady checks down to pick up a first, nobody is gonna bitch. We don’t need a homerun hitter. We need a Brad Johnson. “Game manager” should never be a bad thing. I don’t care about passing yards, completions. Just win.
