Bruce Arians: “I Hate When People Get On Donovan”

November 29th, 2020

Bucco Bruce Arians put his foot down on the Donovan Smith haters after tonight’s game.

Smith messed up his ankle Monday against the Rams on the Bucs’ first offensive snap. The polarizing left tackle exited the game but returned soon after and gutted out a strong performance.

That left Smith in a boot all week and not practicing. Arians detailed on the Buccaneers Radio Network how Smith came to the stadium before today’s game in a boot and told Arians, ‘I know I can play at least a half.” … Smith played every snap.

It wasn’t his best game, but Smith certainly was ok for a guy on a bad wheel.

“I hate when people get on Donovan,” Arians said, noting Smith’s toughness.

Arians added that he was “really proud” of Smith and left guard Ali Marpet, who was cleared to play today after three missed games in the NFL concussion protocol.

Another bad game from A weak pass blocking OLine – under pressure early and often

The play calling was horrendous again

This team just isn’t very good

One and done maybe in the tourney

  2. Roy T. Buford Says:

Sounds like what said about Winston early last year. 10,000 golf cart miles later, he’s got a new man to protect.

    Retire please just retire

Lots of teams are doing better with less so what does that tell you about this team?

Ahhh if that happened I would drive to ur house shake your hand and drive back. No well in hell this team looks like this with Bill as a head coach.

    BA,

I’m still hanging on to hope that you can turn this sh!tshow around, but if you keep defending the worst LT in the NFL then that’s it…..

  9. JimmyJack Says:

I dont need to get on D.Smith. I can save it for when we play the Saints. D.Smith gets destroyed each and every time we play them. He is the most reason why we cant beat them. You are 0-4 Bruce. We fans have been seeing it for much longer the 4 games. So sorry Bruce you are wrong if you dont think Smith is a problem.

But i got no problems if this is just lip service. I get it. Just do whats right and get us a new LT in the offseason that can handle our own division.

This is a good team. Not a great team.

It’s a good team despite severe problems: Poorly coached at times. Poorly prepared. Poor play designs. Predictable playcalling. Inexperienced DBs. Spotty pass rush. Inability to extend drives during the shank of the game.

Still, likely to make the playoffs. But who expects much? What can we expect, a valiant effort in a loss?

  11. Wee Willie Winky Says:

I’m only gonna say this once: Donovan Smith is gonna get TB12 killed.

  12. Beastman Says:

Donavans a big waste of a roster spot.

  13. Pewter Power Says:

This guy is absolutely insane. We’ll resign Donovan to another big contract knowing these idiots.

  14. gotbbucs Says:

Best thing he did in this game was let Clark through twice for roughing the QB penalties. Had Donovan Smith been worth a damn we never would have gotten those extra yards.

Donovan Smith is in the line of other putrid Buccaneer tackles, i.e. Anthony Collins, Charles McRae and Kenyatta Walker. He sucks and I give less than a sh@t about his “toughness”. I’m done listening to drunk Santa Arians and his sorry ass coaching staff, especially his tall elf Byron Suckwich. Go drink some more scotch and keep living in fantasy land Brucey.

This team sucks as a whole and I’m done with them this year. All I’m looking forward to now is a complete house cleaning starting with Jason Gump, the entire coaching staff and MOST of the roster. I can’t wait to start the rebuilding process and start moving forward into the future. It’s just too bad we can’t purge the Glazers as well.

Toughness doesn’t mean good, Bruce! How hardheaded can you possibly be?
