Antonio Brown Says He Is A Better Person

November 4th, 2020

Bucs WR Antonio Brown.

Antonio Brown spoke for the first time as a Bucs receiver this afternoon.

If his point was to demonstrate he has changed, he did a good job showing that image. Brown came across nothing like the videos that are on YouTube of him going berserk in his final days with the Raiders.

Rather, Brown was soft-spoken and introspective. Dare Joe even add, “humble?”

Joe could tell he’s spent a lot of time with park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting Bucs quarterback Tom Brady. There were a couple of questions Brown didn’t want to answer so he offered up answers that had nothing to do with the question.

For example, he was asked about his little dustup with Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians on social media last year. Brown claimed he couldn’t remember and later said he simply doesn’t pay attention to what is said about him on social media.

Brown did say Arians was a key figure in his development as the best receiver in the game dating back to their Pittsburgh days.

“I know we have a great relationship.”

When Brown was asked what he would say to those who have significant doubts he has changed, Brown said, “Hopefully I can change their perspective.”

Asked about Brady, Brown lauded the Bucs quarterback.

“Nothing I had done in the past mattered,” Brown said of the way Brady treats him. “He always gets prepared day-in and day-out.

“I learned a lot from him. How he trains; how he takes care of himself professionally. His discipline; his work ethic; his approach. He’s been a great guy in my corner. And he is one of my close friends.”

Brown thought one reason he and Brady hit it off so well in limited time with the Patriots is that he and Brady are wired similarly. Both were sixth-round picks and due in large part to their crazy work ethics, each reached the top of their profession, Brown said.

Brown did acknowledge he’s been working with celebrity self-help guru Tony Robbins “for a couple of months.”

When Brown was asked why he chose to play for the Bucs (there is chatter out there the Packers wanted him), Brown said simply it was a chance to play again with Brady.

“It was a no-brainer,” Brown said.

  2. '79 Defense Says:

Just like Jameis, you want to pull for this guy, hope for the best and that he turns his life around for himself. He did sound humble.

  3. Dewey Selmon Says:

iIce hat. Brady made a deal with him and his branding continues. Genius. Unless he falls off the rails again.

  4. Shecky Says:

Anyone else out there wanna play with the GOAT? Aaron Donald? Jeez, signing a legendary QB is one thing but the fact that other HOF-level talents wanna go wherever he goes is an unanticipated bonus.

  5. Ftmyersbuc Says:

Uh oh Will Gholston on Twitter just said he os self quarantining sue to covid exposure. However he said he already had covid months ago. And is doing it as a precaution for the next few days.

  6. Mike Johnson Says:

Brown is a bonifide and certified Nut case. Funny what organizations will do for a good player. Ohhh, and he is a criminal also.

  7. SOEbuc Says:

Yes, he’s gonna answer Jenna Laine’s questions about how f#cked up he is. Let’s talk football. Hes gonna bring his game to play on this SB contender team with his boy the GOAT. Showing he’s still got it and go half a season without going crazy. Healthy Evans, Godwin, and AB? Watch out for Gronk, Miller, Brate, Johnson.

  8. yeah Says:

Donald Trump thinks he is a great person too. He says it all the time!

  9. stpetebucsfan Says:

I’m still having trouble believing it. Joe is not guilty of hyping the Bucs. They ARE good. Currently they sit third in the three power rankings I saw.

Being considered one of the top three teams in the league and now thought more highly of than the Saints? As someone else said here…pinch me…unbelievable.

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

He was extremely reserved & calm….likely on his meds……..hopefully, he didn’t toss some chairs and end tables after the interview…..

He’s a monster receiver….hope this works out…..he may be the best value (talent-for-money) in the history of the NFL.

  11. Jersey buc Says:

His presser was impressive. I was totally against this signing just for the fact of the chemistry this team has. But if he can stay humble and hungry like he sounds like. This is a total grand slam! Let’s go AB!

  12. rrsrq Says:

  13. Koryc Says:

  14. Mitch Says:

I just saw Ali Marpet may be out this week with an injury… noooooo!

  15. SlyPirate Says:

Mitch … Followed up on that report. Ali Marpet has a concussion. No bueno.

  16. mark2001 Says:

Well Joe… I guess that is our conference. Glad to see him approach it in a good demeanor. And glad he waited a week or two, to avoid all the hoopla. No rand announcement. Now it is time to win the belief of the team and the fans. And helping to win and staying a level course on and off the field should help accomplish that…if he is sincere.

  17. bojim Says:

I hope you are AB. Fingers crossed.

  18. Lokog Says:

    I just wanna win

  19. Mike Johnson Says:

Better person? Gimme a break. I’d be a better person too if I was facin the chain gang. Put him in a concussion protocol for that statement.

  20. Anonymous Says:

    Again. Again. And Again.

  23. Clean House Says:

Sounds like Brady hired Tony Robbins to Hypnotize or Brainwash him. Looks like it worked for now!!!

  24. Craig Says:

It seemed like he just pulled out the speech he used when he joined the Raiders and changed the names. Remember how that worked out, maybe this time it will be extreme sunburn instead of frozen feet.

A leopard can’t change its spots.

  25. Caleb Lee Says:

Well, I guess better he’s with us than in GB with Davante..
