Tom Brady Quickly Ends Presser

November 29th, 2020

Bucs QB Tom Brady.

Tom Brady is about as professional as they come. He’s Mr. Cool. It’s one reason he is the poster child of the NFL.

But a question tonight about a former teammate seemed to make him uncomfortable or perhaps got under his skin after the Bucs lost to the Chiefs.

To his credit, Brady answered the question before abruptly ending his NFL-mandated press conference.

Last week, former Belicheats linebacker and former Brady teammate Rob Ninkovich appeared on ESPN’s “Stay in Bed” and said Brady needed a new coach in Tampa, claiming Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians was not doing Brady any favors.

Here is today’s postgame exchange between ESPN reporter Jenna Laine and Brady.

Brady was very professional and answered Laine’s question.

Jenna Laine: Hey Tom, as you head to your bye week, there have been some folks who have had some chatter about, you know, you still look like you are running someone else’s offense. One of your former teammates even said on TV that you need a new head coach. What do you make of all of that?

Tom Brady: Nah, it’s just external noise that when you are losing, that’s what you deal with. I love playing with the guys that I play with, the coaches, the whole organization has been unbelievable. I think I have to go out and certainly do a better job the last four weeks of the year. So, I appreciate it. Let’s have a good week.

And with that Brady immediately walked off the podium.

Joe was not involved in the Zoom call where Brady made his appearance. Joe spoke with the Custodian of Canton, JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman, who was on the call. Ira was trying to get in a question and felt he was stiffed by Brady when the Bucs quarterback left without warning.

Brady’s entire presser lasted 2 minutes, 21 seconds, which is extremely short for a starting quarterback of an NFL squad.

Joe isn’t sure if Brady was irked about Ninkovich’s statement being posed to him, or if he was miffed at Ninkovich in the first place for saying Brady needs a new coach live on network cable for the world to see and hear.

Joe found it more than a bit interesting Brady would abruptly end the presser right after being asked (and answering) a question on Ninkovich lobbying for a new Bucs coach for Brady.

Glad he walked off. Another dumb question by Lane.

  2. tmaxcon Says:

In fact, some sheep and goats, with good care, can be productive and profitable for more than 10 years.

The natural life expectancy of a sheep or goat is 10 to 12 years, similar to a large breed of dog. On average, productivity starts to decline when the ewe or doe is 6 to 7 years old. Much of this decline is related to soundness issues, such as in the teeth and udder.

  3. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Jenna getting a little too far out over her skis these days…boy do we all need a bye week.

  4. BucsBro Says:

Ira got in a good question to Arians.

Brady’s presser was short, but he made good points about offensive rhythm. And about the team’s progress on offense.

Rest up, beat the Vikings. If that happens, things will be looking good.

  5. Blackmagic00 Says:

  6. BUC CHEEKS Says:

Send in the clowns! Why why why cant we just smash everybody and let the joy ensue?! I’m sure everyone here can give me some reasons?!?!?!

  7. DBS Says:

Trying to start trouble? What did she think he would say with that? Yes I need a new coach?

  8. JimmyJack Says:

Hey the guys a sore loser. I dont blame him. I actually kinda appreciate as a bitter fan from that game.

But its Toms own fault. He has not been the consistent QB we thought he would be. He does need to get better.

  9. CChead Says:

Dumb ass question by Jenna. What do expect him to say, yeah our coaching staff is terrible.

  10. All lives matter Says:

How do you not plaster C.Davis and A Winfield Jr. or J.Whitehead on T.Hill? There were several instances where Davis had tight coverage while in tow but there was never any danger of help from the top. On everyone of Tyreek Hill TD catches he was greeted with an open lane. Never once did T.Hill have to contend with two defenders at the bottom or top of his route. Poor defensive planning and oversight to not give C.Davis help. Plus I also believe, if I had instant replay, that on several of T.Hills deep go routes he was a fraction ahead of the snap count. Just enough to catch Davis on his heels, but even so, had there been a double team with a safety on top it may have caused Hill to sit down on his route tree instead of all the uncontested TD catches.

  11. Of course Says:

That was a STUPID STUPID question.

And she’s a “reporter” what school did she go to?

    Dum bas s U?

Good lord. I would’ve walked off too. Of all the questions that could be asked about how this team is playing you come up with that one?

Have people write in a question and just let her read that question because clearly she isn’t competent enough to be asking her own questions

  12. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

LOL, Hill even mocked us on the Telephone, by calling for Help!

  13. NPRSageBoy Says:

Even TB12 has had enough of this $hitshow.

I’m pretty sure he never got his ass handed to him this consistently in NE.

Enough is enough already; let the dead rest.

  14. Of course Says:

Too bad the child abuser hasn’t had his arm broken yet like what he likes to do to kids.

  15. EEK Says:

It’s a great year but KC was toying with us.
Playoffs will be amazing but right now we’re not a Super Bowl team.
Brady isn’t a Super Bowl qb anymore either.
    Sadly.

  16. Boltsfan17 Says:

Ninkovich isn’t wrong. Either Tom needs to retire or get Arians the hell out of here.

  17. Ct Says:

Wasn’t that so original of Hill to pretend he was calling for help, extremely classy, something that I definitely know Mahomes and Brady would have done as well.

  18. Barlow Says:

It was definitely an entertaining game today. Fun to watch. Hard to watch at times with some missed serious tackles and blown coverage Hill but he is a stud. I hate taking Jones out when he’s running so good and putting Fornette in. I know they are trying to change it up but we need to feed the mother freaking beast. We competed today against a possible Super Bowl ball contender and had it within a touchdown. Knowing that we sucked in the beginning of the game. With that said we need to tighten the ship and smoke everybody in the way until the end of the season.Offense needs to get their crap together and be above avg.It was obvious see what happens when the pass rush makes a difference as opposed to not.

  19. Etzel Says:

Tommy thin-skinned can’t handle the questions when Daddy Belichick isn’t there to deflect. Of course you dweebs would hate on Jenna for doing her job.

  20. Pewter Power Says:

Well even with less talent last year he was rarely beat convincingly so many times in a season with 4 games left to go. You have offensive head coach getting outcoached on a weekly basis but the head coach keeps calling out the quarterback. If they lose any of the last 4 games the coaches should get fired.

The secondary is too young, the d line is too old and now the quarterback is too old. Arians won’t be around to fix this anyway. Licht just don’t be dumb enough to hire head coach from within. Dirk koetter should still haunt your dreams.

  21. sincethebeginning Says:

Interesting. Then you listen to Tony Romo calling the game and he thinks the Bucs are going to still be in the Super Bowl and that their recovery from the first quarter apocalypse is a great sign of things to come.

Maybe Brady has that same mindset. Maybe we need to just relax and trust him.

Jenna Lane is just doing her job btw. There was no way an ESPN reporter wasn’t going to ask about what an ESPN talking head blasted about Brady earlier in the week. I mean come on, that’s just TCB.

  22. Buc4evr Says:

Brady is on the downside of his career. This team is a total disaster. Our QB is a statue, unable to move two feet in the pocket. At least Jameis was exciting to watch. Lol.

  23. Fummer43 Says:

Don’t blitz Mahomes….dare them to run….but don’t blitz Mahomes….doubling Hill works as well

  24. ModHairKen Says:

The reason he ducked out is because Ira’s question was next, and Tom was afraid that Ira was going was going to ask him if he could present Tom’s case for the Hall of Fame.

Given Ira’s track record, Tom doesn’t want any part of that.

  25. T REX Says:

We competed…so what. That’s loser talk.

    Almost won…loser talk.

  26. SOEbuc Says:

This is a disgrace. Two words. Ro Jo. I would be pissed as hell at the coaches if I was Brady. Got guys in his face all day passing. RoJo got a long tip toe TD catch and a 34 yard run ending up with 9 attempts for 66 yards. Fournette got 13 attempts for 66 yards. Embarrassing and dumb equals BA and Leftwich.

  27. AlV Says:

It was a dumb question instigated by the drama starter Jenna Laine. He absolutely should have walked off.

  28. Bucfan81 Says:

Typical Jenna. Never really liked her as a reporter. She always asks dumb questions and she will also ask the same question over and over hoping for a different response.

  29. SOEbuc Says:

I don’t think Jenna Laine has asked one question about the Bucs without Tom Brady being mentioned. BSPN bandwagon.

  30. Augsut 1976 Buc Says:

How many people would handle well the situation Brady is in. No creativity on offense, to help give Brady tells, which Romo pointed out many times and finally just left it alone. There just is no way BL at this point of his career is cutting it. The Chiefs on the other hand have all kinds of window dressing. Tom is still handling Press Conferences with class, he could go off about a lot of things but does not. Ira may have felt stiffed, but that is better then losing your cool and going off on people. Probably a few people here can relate with that. lol I know it is the NFL and press conferences are huge for their brand, but whatever. Life goes on. GO BUCS!!!!

  31. View from 132 Says:

Hey Tom, how do you feel about Left Sandwich? Would you rather not run a gameplan that is a can of spam after having steak game planning for 20 years?

To: I like food. Let’s have a good week of practice.

  32. Buc1987 Says:

10-6 or 11-5 here we come.

  33. Joe Says:

I don’t think Jenna Laine has asked one question about the Bucs without Tom Brady being mentioned. BSPN bandwagon.

    She’s doing her job.

    ..
I vote Arians gone and take Leftwich with him

  35. Kobe Faker Says:

“Kobe Faker demands the Joes to bann all the posters talking false claims of Kobes girl Jenna L

Its all about accountability and addressing/fixing the problems to move on and make the playoffs

With the bye week, Is it not the perfect time to move on with B Leftover

Can BA finally admit he was wrong with his stepson BL and give the playcalling duties to if not himself than maybe Clyde Christenson or any of our 100s of coaches?

Is it not time for Jason Gump to tell the stubborn Grandpa Smurf Arians he has 4 games left or they both are gone?

All thru out the NFL, the #1 answer to change/correct/spark the offense is change the playcaller and you losers are talking down on sweet JL?

GMs and HCs are being fired thru out the NFL daily

Kobes girls questioning was off base?

Kobe Faker demand all the IP addresses of all the clowns on this thread making these false accusations”

    Kobe JL boytoy Faker

  36. Hodad Says:

Tom’s a sore loser like his golfing buddy T****p.

  37. Bucsfanman Says:

Buc fans are a funny lot. For a decade, we complained about star players not hating to lose (GMC). Now we have a QB that hates to lose, and he’s a “sore loser”?!
    GOOD! I hate losing too.

Laine is just asking the questions people want answers to. Did ME13 and Brady look like two players on the same page while on the sideline? Mike didn’t look at Brady once. That body language tells me that not everything is rosy in that locker room, or at least between QB and WR.

  38. BillyBucFan Says:

    New coach my A$$
You could tell when BA took over play calling.

He might say he didn’t, but I’ll never believe it.

Early in the season you could see his blue print on the 1st drive.
    Then that disappeared

BA at least knows WHEN to take a shot and it definitely shouldn’t be a 30 yard pass to Brown out of the backfield.

Like they didn’t notice it. LMAO

  39. BillyBucFan Says:

And that was on 3rd and 3 BTW

  40. BucEmUp Says:

I know for a fact Brady feels the offensive coach/coordinator of thus team is underqualified for his position but hes just being professional and knowing his place as a player.

Arians and his Protege better learn how to win 4 quarters and play based.on what the other team is showing vs just running the game plan.

  41. FairMinded Says:

If you see the video Jenna’s question was fair so don’t get the hate from some of these comments. She even framed it as “noise” and as Joe said he answered very professionally. I just think the loss stung and they’re happy to get into the bye as quickly as possible

  42. Sumosam Says:

Have faith Bucs fans. This team will gel at just the right time. Do you blame Brady for walking out? Now the hell does he answer that question? He knows he’s in a tough situation but he’ll work through it.

  43. The Saint Says:

This isn’t the cream puff AFC East Tom cryBrady
Nothing is handed to you. You have to earn it. Don’t be a little bitch got a testosterone shot

  44. Cobraboy Says:

Dude hates losing and it shows.

Dad CB softened opined: “Shoe me a good loser, and I’ll show you a loser.”

  45. PoundTheRock Says:

    Seriously! Seriously Joe!
Jenna doing her job!? That was a stupid question. Tell me how Brady supposed to answer that question? Truthfully was Laine expecting an answer? One of the most ridiculous post game questions I have ever heard.

  46. stpetebucsfan Says:

First I think Brady was smart. It wasn’t about being a sore loser it was about saying something that you would only regret. If you can’t say something nice say nothing at all and so I think Brady was wise not to take the bait.

But let’s be clear. Jenna was literally doing her JOB. This WAS a story before the game so why is it not a story after the game. What changed? In fact considering what happened on the field the question was very appropriate.

Jenna and all reporters do ALL people being covered favors when they ask them these type questions. It’s an opportunity to correct the situation.

Brady did that in spades…”Nah, it’s just external noise that when you are losing, that’s what you deal with. I love playing with the guys that I play with, the coaches, the whole organization has been unbelievable.”

Are we disappointed that Brady didn’t add…so you can see Ninkovic is full of manure? Do we believe Tom that he is as pleased as he said?

  47. Lenny Says:

Brady, Needs to stop being a baby and take all questions like a man. He’s getting good money. Don’t crawl away from mic. What a poor spirt.

  48. Jenmifer Says:

Tom very often keeps the press conferences after the 4:20 games brief. I think he just wants to get to bed by 9. Lol

  49. 941Boltfan Says:

Yep I’d a answered the question and 🎤 dropped. Why would you start off asking a guy coming off loss a question like that from the rip and expect him not to want and hear whatever inconsiderate question might be asked next. He could of been like another starting Qb and told her that was the dumbest question he had been asked! 🙄 🤦

  50. Carlos Alberto Suarez Says:

Jenna asked the question and Brady answered. Lane was doing her job. Brady did leave early but when you’re not in New England then Brady has to step up as a QB and win games.
