Ugly Initial Report

October 9th, 2020

Brutal news coming?

The initial report made Joe want to throw up.

Per Adam Schefter of BSPN, the Bucs “fear” Vita Vea broke his ankle last night. If that is the case, he’s toast for 2020.

Vea will have MRI tests today to confirm the severity of the injury. Every once in a blue moon an MRI does not confirm worst fears. Cross your fingers.

If Vea is done, that is a major blow. He was likely having a Pro Bowl season. All of a sudden, that vaunted Bucs run defense doesn’t look so stiff without Vea clogging up the middle.

The Bucs drafted a big-bodied guy this spring in Khalil Davis out of Nebraska. Well rook, looks like you might be getting your shot in the very near future. Buckle up, kid. Bucs need you. And “Roaches,” eeerrr, “Nachos.”

  5. The Man Says:

Damn… The replay looked like a broken ankle… Hopefully he can be back for playoffs… if we make the playoffs.

  6. Youngbucs Says:

Yea thx a lot Ira had to keep talking about injuries we told you not to do it.

  7. D-Rome Says:

If Vea is done then so are this team’s Super Bowl chances. None of this next man up nonsense. There are no backups on this roster that can do what Vea does.

  8. Is it true Says:

Your only good if your available and for the third time in as many years Vea has not been available. Actually, Vea played 16 games last year. –Joe Injury prone is the word most would use for guys that are out as much as he is.

  9. Dewey Selmon Says:

I would label OJ injury prone before Vea. This is a much bigger loss than a TE.

  10. SB Says:

[Please don’t hijack a thread with a fully unrelated subject. Joe already wrote about this play you referenced. — Joe]

  11. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Poorly called games like last night where things like this happens because officiating crews have money on it/want to make it close make me want to stop watching football.

  12. WhoCares Says:

    Play should of never happened.

When are the refs gonna start getting injured. If nothing else defund…. I mean fine them heavily for bad calls. Bet they will start paying attention and not.be prone to the bribe no more.

And they get bribed. Trust me I know

  13. WhoCares Says:

I agree… Lets stop watching…. Like a boycott…. Better yet, let get Annnntifa and the other.hate groups to riot and go to the refs houses and intimidate them!!!!!

  14. Jersey buc Says:

Anyone seen D. White last 2 weeks. Come on man where you at? What a poorly played game that was. Better knuckle up. A Aron is coming up D needs to be a lot better!

  15. Miketb19 Says:

That suck to lose VV he was awesome last night up to that point

But let’s not forget Nacho has been playing extremely well to that’s why Bowles felt comfortable keeping Vea on a snap count to keep him fresh was because Nachos was waiting in the wings so I think he will do extremely well in Veas absence

Also I’m really excited to see what we have in Khalil Davis he had a really good training camp and the only reason he’s be inactive up to this point was cause Bruce wanted extras DBs and LBs for special teams play so I think a rotation of Gholston(whose having I think his best year so far), Nachos, and Davis will do just fine

  16. SB Says:

My bad Joe……..I missed that article I guess.
    Not trying to “Hijack” anything.

You literally called me one of the best commenters on this site ” in like forever” (screenshot) yet you say you have no control over your filters. You go into moderation automatically hundreds of other people. Joe has plenty of control of filters, but you are one of the few over the years that lands there for no reason Joe can understand. What else can Joe say? Joe cannot determine a reason. There is nothing more Joe can do. If you have to stop enjoying the site, that’s ok. Nothing Joe can do about it.–Joe
The one time I really let into Ndog last week I went into the corner. And you keep telling me ” I assure you this is not some premeditated stunt to fool with you” yet I can’t even type any letter of the alphabet.
I have enjoyed this site for 8 years! I tell others about it any chance I get.
Sucks to think I may have to forget about it.

  18. SB Says:

So..”Joe has plenty of control over filters”
yet ” There is nothing Joe can do about it”
Makes no sense. Makes a lot of sense. Joe has had running cars that had issues that couldn’t be diagnosed properly, despite Joe doing everything to fix them. Heck, Joe’s brother had a serious illness that took 2 years to diagnose because everything checked out medically — except for the actual problem. Joe can’t explain why some commenters go to moderation without Joe putting them there. Most have left over the years, obviously. Joe has the same quality and accomplished IT guy for the past 12+ years. Got no answer. Joe apologizes and has for a long time.–Joe
” If you have to stop enjoying the site, that’s ok.”
So thanks for 8 years of loyalty. Buh Bye?

  19. Mike10 Says:

    Season over.
    Bucs 2021!

  20. Joe Says:

So..”Joe has plenty of control over filters”
yet ” There is nothing Joe can do about it”
    Makes no sense.

Look, Joe’s written this may be a dozen times before. Will copy this reply so he can post it once or twice a week.

Yes, Joe can ban people or put them in moderation. There are some examples — and you are going through it right now — that for reasons fully unknown all of your comments have been triggered by the spam filter are being put into moderation (that is, unless you were placed there for being naughty in the past). Why this happens, Joe doesn’t know because unfortunately, computer codes do not like to respond to Joe’s questions.

Trust Joe: He literally spends all freaking day, 24/7 digging comments out of moderation queues. You think Joe actually enjoys that? The first thing Joe does when he gets up around 5 a.m. and the last thing he does around 1-2 a.m. is dig comments out of moderation. That is not an exaggeration. Doesn’t matter if Joe is sitting in a doctor’s office, at a red light, having a beer, trying to watch a ballgame, you name it.

There may be 5,000 things Joe would rather do than dig people’s comments out of moderation. If there was a known solution, Joe would have resolved this years ago.

Now all of this is predicated on if you were never placed in moderation — some people have been for being naughty. You have been commenting here for years so not sure what you may have done to be placed in moderation.

Joe understands it is a pain in the arse for you. It’s also a pain in the arse for Joe. While Joe is digging comments out of the moderation queue, he could be writing stories or doing research or talking to contacts or selling ads.

Joe doesn’t get paid a nickel for digging comments out of moderation. This is very much a two-way street. Sucks for you and sucks for Joe.

Rest assured so long as your comment doesn’t break one of Joe’s laws, Joe will eventually get to it.

  21. SB Says:

    Thank you Joe

  22. SB Says:

    That didn’t go into moderation

  23. Brandon Says:

I had a comment go into moderation on Ira’s story when I said that Khalil Mack ONLY had one extra stat that wasn’t due to his two sacks. Am I on the naughty list or do you know?

  24. Brandon Says:

And that comment is in moderation… not sure why.

  25. Brandon Says:

Everything i post goes into moderation. Not sure why. Don’t cuss on here, don’t lie or threaten. Weird.

  26. TOM Says:

Off the subject but at what point does Evans learn you can’t run down the field & push db’s out of your way to get open. This has been going on a long time.
