The Deal Is Done

October 23rd, 2020

New Bucs receiver.

It seems it is all wrapped up. Antonio Brown is your newest Bucs receiver.

This is a perilous move by the Bucs. It has just as much of a chance to blow up in Team Glazer’s face as it does getting the Bucs to the Super Bowl.

Joe would have much preferred the Bucs used the cash freed up by reworking Ali Marpet’s contract on a pass rusher.

    Hate the move

  2. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

This is a boom or bust move Joe. You are 100% correct. This means we either win the Super Bowl or miss the playoffs. Time will tell. I’m 50/50.

  3. B lzone Says:

Frankly don’t like it. Bucs look like a bit of a whore. I know they are win now, but don’t kill the locker room. Great talent but so far a horrible person. We shall see

  4. NYC Bucs Says:

I hope this dude had grown up.

  5. Bangkok Buc Says:

If he comes in to just ball and checks his ego at the door (easier said than done for this diva) this could be a monster signing.
    Best weapons in the NFL.

  6. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Joe the only pass rushers on the market right now are cooked and old.

none of them are worth the money or depth. There aren’t really any good trades to make either.

  7. ATrain Says:

I think this will be a Great Move

Brown is trying to play in the NFL again

This is his one chance and he will go all out

  8. Trm2021 Says:

    HELLLLLLLL NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  9. NOLES Says:

All chips in… w Godwin & Evans hampered. I understand

  10. Christopher Schiefen Says:

What magical pass rusher is out there right now.

  11. Wesley Says:

Dear god nooooo. This guy is a freakin scumbag!

  12. Rico 210 Says:

I’m all in man. Let’s fu©king go! I called 12-4. Bucs just made sure of that. This will work because TB12 has the team bought in to what it takes from practice to game days to win it all.
    Go Bucs

  13. Wesley Says:

    Boooooooooooooooooo!

  14. CPN Says:

Rework Marpet’s contract for a pass rusher?

    What do you mean, Joe?

  15. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

With this signing, we are either going to win the Super Bowl, or we are not going to make the playoffs. You heard it from Alvin first.

  16. admin Says:

Rework Marpet’s contract for a pass rusher?

    What do you mean, Joe?

    Think it was rather clear.

  17. Rayjay1122 Says:

But does he have a helmet? Lol. No, seriously, I am fine with it. If he takes this serious and behaves, he instantly makes our offense more lethal.

  18. orlbucfan Says:

This troublemaker comes into the offensive locker room and he will get his butt kicked if he stirs up any trouble. Talk about stupid. Who conned the Glazer Boys into this idiot move? Hopefully, not Methuselah. If it was BA, he needs to be retired out to pasture. Bucs do not need another receiver especially a joke like this guy.

  19. Jmarkbuc Says:

Hate this move… dude is an Ahole with a capital A.

    ABsolutely hate it.

  20. AwshBucs Says:

Considering Evans and Godwins hobbled status for most of this season this move at least makes sense.

Hopefully we get the humble and driven version of AB and Brady can keep his ego in check.

  21. NPRSageBoy Says:

    WTF?

    Peace, out

  22. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Didn’t like this move at first glance…warming to the idea for a few reasons:
-He WAS the best player in football at one time
-This is his last chance…he must know that
    -Brady really must like him
-This is an all in year…he can return punts

    Hope it works out…

  23. WyomingBucsFan Says:

Welcome Mr.BigChest. Some of you fans and Joe sound like whiny Joe Biden supporters. Lol probably get banned for that…

  24. ToesOnTheLine!!! Says:

Another all in move. Dude seems nutty but no denying his football skills.

  25. August 1976 Buc Says:

In the words of Herm Edwards ” You play to win the game” This is not the lost Decade anymore. BOOOOOOOOM! That is the sound going off in Sean Paytons office right now. Come on down Drew, and get your woopin behind the Rajay woodshed. GO BUCS!!!!!!

  26. WyomingBucsFan Says:

Some of you Bucs fans sound like your already tired of winning..

  27. Kgh4life Says:

This is the same guy who got pissed because his teammate Juju was balling out, what the hell is going to happen when you have Evans and Godwin also catching balls. Not only that, it will stunt the growth of our young receivers, don’t like it.

  28. Ron says Says:

This move helps us from being too injury prone on the offensive side of the ball as he will demand the respect of the opposing teams as long as he is close to what he was so we will have a consistent threat if one of the other WR are out. Hopefully everyone will realize this is not a team of prosperity but a team of destiny and know that their parts will feast at times and distract at other times, but in the end it will be a team win. If Brown looks at this as a stepping stone and a resume not to his greatness but to his ability to be a part of a team, it will be hard for any to defend us, as we are strong in WR’s RB’s and TE’s and at times some areas will be overlooked until the end and all will succeed.

  29. August 1976 Buc Says:

If WR’s were actually able to suit every week and play like we all thought they would, maybe you do not do this. They are not leaving anything to chance. The coaches know Mike ans Chris, and were not willing to chance a repeat of last season when Mike and Chris were gone. Same as why they signed McLendon when Vita went down. All in to win. After 17 years of mostly crap, It is fun to be a Bucs fan again. SUPER BOWL OR BUST. GO BUCS!!!!!

  30. Rayjay1122 Says:

All of you who are squirming are very entertaining.

  31. Chris Says:

Unfortunately, only time will tell if this was a smart move. Looking at it from an advantage standpoint, the Saints have Michael Thomas out and Emanuel Sanders is out. Could there have been a potential with the Saints? If there was one, we just handcuffed it from the Saints or a potential NFC matchup later in the season. Do I like the move, no. But was it a smart play for the Bucs, yes. With Evans nursing a ankle injury, Godwin a hamstring, and Scotty Miller a groin, along with the aforementioned…this was a good move.

  32. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Yeah, team chemistry doesn’t mean a thing.

  33. RSJCheapSeats Says:

    Brady gets what Brady wants.
End of story – and those who second guess can kiss one of Tom’s rings.

  34. BUC CHEEKS Says:

THIS IS CANT LOSE MOVE!!!!!!! IF HE’S A HASTLE, DEUCES!!! IF HE’S AWESOME AS HE CAN BE, LFG!!!!!!! ♥️ OUR MISSION!!!!! WIN THE DAMN SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!! BRADY WANTED HIM, HE’S COMING!!!!! ALL YOU WHINERS AND WEENIES CAN STFU, LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! WELCOME ABOARD MATE!!!!! SUPER BOWL OR BUST

  35. $acbuc$ Says:

So now Couch Coach say run Brown in the dirt and get Chris and Mike healthy for the playoffs. He’s another deep ball threat. At one time he was the best deep ball threats. We get all these receivers going post season who gonna stop us. We can come off the bench and never miss a beat. We are stacked when we are at full strength. All levels including the Practice Squad!

Tom can win with Scooter, Tyler, J.Watt, Hudson, Sneak, Shady and Auclair. That’s how much faith I got in Tom and our depth.

Wells can take Donnie spot and Joe Hoeg can play guard and Sac believes the Bucs will still compete with any team in the league. We ready for that Super Bowl push.

  36. Patrickbucs Says:

Ugh. He would of come here if JW was here, QB here lol!

    Not my fav.

  37. Coburn Says:

Kinda have to wonder why… Are Godwin and Evans injuries still expected to linger a while? Feel like this was a position we had talent on and didn’t need to gamble like this

  38. August 1976 Buc Says:

Hey Sean Payton what was the loud boom that just happened in Nawlins, lol. BTW Seattle move over, hollow 5-0 record, you used to have a D, but not now!!! The GB already put the league on alert. This sends shockwaves throughout the NFL. This year BEFORE this signing the Bucs were the only team that beat the Bucs. But that crap got cleaned up in a hurry, didn’t it GB. It is a GOOD DAY TO BE A BUCS FAN!!!!! GO BUCS!!!!!

  39. Clean House Says:

    He’s a blocking receiver

  40. Buc4ever Says:

Thought Mohamed Sanu would have been a better backup.

  41. Davenport Says:

Nothing to lose here. Brady runs the offense and AB will fall in line.

This move lowers the reps that Evans and Godwin will take so they can get healthy. Come the playoffs this will be a deep, scary offense.

Looking forward…would you rather AB be playing with us (or on our bench) or have him lining up against us?

  42. Athlete Says:

Impossible for this team to lose the rest of the way. Almost the best team on paper ever jotted down besides the Chiefs. Hmm look at Mahomes for example,,,,he cannot fail with the best offensive line, best WR, top RB’s best TE. Curious if Mahomes would have gotten that contract from the Jets if he was drafted by them……My guess is free agent. Way too many people to blame if the Bucs lose more than 2 games the rest of the way!!!!! I think back to the 97′ Marlins for some reason here.

  43. August 1976 Buc Says:

Lol That was classic, Cean House lol your on a roll today. GO BUCS!!!!

  44. RICHARD weeks Says:

Every fan bitching now will say it was the greatest move ever when the bucs win the superbowl..

  45. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Take a very deep breath (with your masks on, of course)…….

Let this play out…….there is no question regarding his skills.

He’s certainly not coming for the money, he’s coming to win. He knows he can’t screw up……Tom will keep him in check.

I can’t help but believe that this was in the plans all along….or ME13’s injury is worse than we are being told.

    I’m all in on this…..until I’m not.

  46. Reach87 Says:

If he keeps his head on straight you have instant crazy route runner always (always) in the right spot, great speed, x/y/z proven, stupid hands. Go Bucs!

  47. Joe in Michigan Says:

I wonder if this move will cut into Cyril Grayson’s playing time. 🤔

  48. orlbucfan Says:

Let’s hope yahoos like 1976 are right. Brown comes into the locker room and even Methuselah can’t protect him if he shows one inch of his azz. So hopefully, he’ll park it. He can’t even touch ME13 and Ungodly in class. What an insult to the team and us fans. Screw you Methuselah.

  49. Bucamania Says:

Good move with Evans and Godwin limping around out there. If all three are healthy it’s a crazy potent passing attack.

  50. Tackleblockwin Says:

Am I dreaming? Is this real? Hopefully this doesn’t turn into a nightmare.

  51. Nate1111 Says:

Go big or go home its a bucs life 4 me!! Bring black beard brown to the pirate ship!!

  52. Pewter Power Says:

Not very many of any selfish players on this team.

Does anyone think this guy is not that much of a diva that he can follow covid rules. He might bring more wins but also might bring a covid outbreak to the locker room, it’s a toss up with this guy. Not a smart move and we’ll see if the risk was worth it

  53. August 1976 Buc Says:

Lol orlbucan, just keep the AXE in plain sight. Diva = axed baby. AB the church mouse version is showing at least for this year. After that all bets are off. He is only signing a
1 year incentive laden deal. Breath wrong and the Axe fall buddy! GO BUCS!!!

  54. catcard202 Says:

NFL Films – Bucs 2020 segment will be named; “The isle of misfit toys”.

  55. 1Gr8Buc Says:

Saints and Seahawks were looking at him. We deepen our WR group with top notch talent while taking away from potential playoff opponents. Smart move.

  56. SOEbuc Says:

Its a one year deal. Really don’t think he’s coming into this locker room to throw a hissy fit. Hopefully that’s in his contract. Bucs didn’t sign all these other guys to WIN NOW and not make it cus Evans and Godwin couldn’t get healthy. Very hyped.

  57. jcscycles Says:

Fortune favors the bold. With Evans and Godwin hurting, this is a good move. AB has been calculating about his career, but he really wants to play with TB. He worked the Steelers and the Raiders to get to go to the Patriots. And I’d rather see him in Pewter than suiting up for the Slimy Saints. Word has it they were slithering around in the background looking to nab AB.

  58. Nate$Buclife Says:

    AB NATION BABY!

  59. MtBucsfan Says:

Do I like the move no. Do I understand this move yes. As a couple people have said. Imagine Sean Payton right now. I dont think the Glaziers, BA, and even Brady would approve if there wasnt an understanding of him coming in and being professional. The bucs weren’t the only ones looking at him either. I’ll give him a chance. I just want to win! Just hope he pulled his head out of his ass.

  60. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

1 year deal. If he blows or is a cancer, you cut him. If he’s what he can be, Bucs win the Super Bowl. It’s as simple as that.

  61. Jarrett Says:

I’m sure there will be very generous language in the contract for the Bucs… They know AB is a headcase and it can blow up. I’d imagine a lot of the money is in incentives, and AB is coming to play with Brady and win a championship, not for a payday. It’s a one year deal. If he’s a big issue then just cut him. I like the move.

  62. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

Well we finally got rid of the most divisive player in Bucs history, only to sign another one. This makes it harder to cheer for my favorite team. Stupid move. Ain’t no way this guy doesn’t hurts then team, despite his WR chops.

  63. BA > Licht Says:

Dude ain’t played football in a F Ing year. Blows hammy or something.. Wong be a factor

  64. 123urout Says:

Cool! just in time for the Saints game… GO BUCS !!!

  65. Steven007 Says:

The fact remains a healthy AB, in game shape, is arguably the best receiver on our roster now. Boom or bust for sure. Obviously we all hope boom. If it’s a bust he’ll be gone. Simple as that.

  66. Darin Says:

    Alvin harper.
Are you Alvins son? Too young for a dumb comment like that. They already have the talent to win it. In case you’re new to football defense wins championships. Always has always will.

  67. alaskabuc Says:

I don’t care if he is a saint his entire time as a Buccaneer. Dude is a world class a-hole.

  68. Hank Rearden Says:

remember ladies….it is only entertainment. don’t like it? stop watching or shut up. Go Bugs

  69. Bucsgotachance..todonothing Says:

If you don’t like it yourba loser and i don’t like you… Go bucs

  70. Crack3rK Says:

Yikes! Watch out Ladies at One Buc Palace. This doesn’t feel right. No Diva zone?

  71. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

I just can’t believe they would make a mistake like this!! This team is barely ready for success much less a guy like this!! This is shameful and I have lost a TON of respect for the Glazer’s and Arians for this!! This guy may still be suspended for rape accusations!! He showed up to raiders practice in a hot air balloon!! The Steelers and raiders lost a combined 4 picks and millions of dollars JUST TO GET TODD OF HIM!!! This is a horrible move and A.B. if you’re reading this just because you have money and play football doesn’t make you special!! You will pass away just like the rest of us one day! Only difference is everyone will be happy when you’re gone because money can’t buy you true respect!! You are A HORRIBLE person and there’s NOTHING you could ever do to convince be otherwise!!! I can’t believe they would make a mistake like this!! You are a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE human being, man and teammate!! You just run fast with a football man.. That’s all!! Everything else you are is trash!!!

  72. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Horrible move… There Joe erase that!!!

  73. Gencoimports Says:

I like the move, under the circumstances. If he acts up, cut him.

  74. Women of Tampa beware Says:

I wonder if his contract includes legal fees he incurs for future “allegations “

  75. Buczilla Says:

I don’t like the move, but I’ll wait to see how it plays out before I criticize it too much. Anyone can change for the better, but now many chances is too many?

  76. Dano407 Says:

Evans & Godwin are clearly hurting out there. This is a major need for the offense. I think Brady is the only guy that can keep him in line. And you know his contract will be full of clauses.

  77. BigMacAttack Says:

Casey Phillips interviews AB with 4 armed guards in the room 😂

  78. RipperRoo Says:

20+ yr die hard fan here …. Between a gimped season due to Covid19 and especially the politics in the NFL I was solely only watching the Bucs games. Adding this idiot, Antonio Brown to the team has pushed me over the edge and I am turned off completely not just by the NFL, but more specifically the Bucs!

The majority of this team is now “bought” and not as much developed and deserving of any success. First it was Brady, then Gronk, then McCoy etc. and now selling any future this team could have by adding the cancer that is antonio brown – I am disgusted!

Win or lose, doesnt matter. This Bucs fan is outta here, and no the door wont hit me on the way out!!

  79. Ftmyersbuc Says:

    Hmmm

    Clay matthews or Antonio Brown?

    This is a no brainer.

  80. BigMacAttack Says:

Betcha a dollar he keeps watching 😂

  81. Drunkinybor Says:

I dont know about this move. The dude just seems like such a arrogant weird A-hole. I would rather lise with dignity than win with a scumbag women beater. I hope this doesn’t fracture the team. Could it all be a manufactured show on his part all the weird crap. I hope so.

  82. Clean House Says:

    Hilarious Big Mac!!!

  83. Bush's Coke Spoon Says:

    Hank Rearden Says:
“remember ladies….it is only entertainment. don’t like it? stop watching or shut up. Go Bugs”
    .
    .

LOL I bet chicks dig you.

  84. Bucsfan29 Says:

    Lovvvve ittttttt

  85. Allbuccedup Says:

Team chemistry is getting flushed down the toilet.

  86. Jeagan1999 Says:

I wonder if the Bucs would have made this move, if there wasn’t so much chatter about the Seahawks being interested in AB? Could that have at least played a small role in this? Make sure your enemy doesn’t add anymore weapons!

  87. FearTheFlag Says:

Clearly the mass consensus is AB super talented A hole. I’m in that group. However, I feel like there might be a small chance that with all the leadership on this team & our head coach being a take no sh*t kind of leader combined with the chance that maybe Brown was humbled a little during all this Brown might end up being a little better version of himself. A lot to wish for I know but I’m just saying it’s possible.

I think this team’s higher ups likely did a deep dive on Brown, his situation, all of it…and concluded we could make it work. I sincerely hope they were right. Maybe, just maybe AB can humble himself, while helping us win. Jason Licht has basically batted 1000 so far this year with all his free agent signings and overall decisions. So right now I’ll hold my nose at this decision while hoping his trend continues. I really hope we don’t regret this.

  88. Dapostman Says:

This a great move. What’s the downside? There is none. If he doesn’t buy in which he knows his career is winding down he will be done. If he plays well he’ll be looking for a contract somewhere next year.

These are the kind of deals that can put you over the top. Remember this is a 1-2 year window to get it done.

    Excellent move.
