Comfortable

Wait a minute! Hold the phone! Pause the TV! Put down the Big Storm beer!

Through four games Tom Brady is on pace to absorb just 20 sacks this season.

Over the past 10 seasons with the Belicheats, Brady took an average of 28 sacks per season.

How could this be? If you listen to a sect of Bucs fans, the Tampa Bay offensive line is a steaming mess.

Brady also is on pace to eat 76 quarterback hits this season. That’s not too shabby, either, though the Bucs would prefer that number land under 70.

It’s just four games, but this is exactly what the Bucs needed to accomplish this season given Brady’s age and immobility.

If this keeps up, not only will the Bucs win games, Brady will be so fired up about coming back next season. No matter what Brady’s contract says, Joe will believe in Brady 2021 when The Goat says it’s a done deal.

It’s called no holding calls this year and a RT that was not both undrafted and on his last legs. Also helps to actually have a running game to keep defenses honest.

  2. Mike Johnson Says:

I just hope Brady can absorb all of the hits coming his way. He is going to take quite a few more as the opposition studies holes in our O line. I dreAd aLL WORLD gABBERT HAVING TO STEP IN. hE IS A DISASTER IN THE MAKING.

  3. Steve Campbell Says:

As Chris Landy said when they signed Brady,

“The Bucs OL just got significantly better.”

  4. Paul Says:

Hey how about putting a Nice Moniker in front of Tom Brady’s name when you refer to him? I know that you used to do that for JW.

    Why not the GOAT?

  5. Joe Says:

    Why not the GOAT?

Joe never liked that moniker. Plus, Joe is a Joe Montana guy.

  6. WhoCares Says:

Hummmmm, so you mean having QB that doesnt run around like a sucker wont get sacked and turn the ball over as much. And he wont get hit and make the OL look horrible.

    Who Knew???

  7. Bird Says:

    Ndog

This is awesome folks. Another ndog sighting
He is so sad. So many tears. Sleepless nights thinking about jamei whamie. So frustrated the bucs winning
He wished he wasnt a bucs fan. I mean this is the end for the 50 year old man acting like he is 5

First it was brady is lucky
Then it was brady can only beat bad teams
Now its holding penalties kept jameis from winning

These are great times people. What a loser.
Dude. There are several articles about penalties on oline that need to be cleaned up. So wirfs is solid. Absolutely . I have commented on that before. So one rookie is reason bucs winning. Dotson was jameis kryptonite

And now we have this amazing run game which jameis did not have – according to nsob
What a joke. It was rojo’s second career 100 yard game. What am i missing. Other games bucs have struggled to run Under brady

Oh and defense gave up over 30 and bucs missed kick and brady Threw pick 6
    Yet bucs win

    Hahahaha

    😂

    Ndog Looks horrible again.

  8. Guzzie Says:

Carolina Denver and Chargers, not exactly powerhouses, but looking good against bad teams is how you build confidence

  9. Looking at You! Says:

    Well Said N Dog

  10. geno711 Says:

Ok with Joe liking Montana over Brady – a good debate.
Johnny Unitas was just as great as either.

  11. ModHairKen Says:

Donovan Smith. Wirfs. Jensen. Marpet. Even the RG Cappa. Good game Sunday.

BTW, Jensen’s face got so red it looked purple. The dude is scary. He had a slow start in Tampa but is now the Dean of the O Line.

    Joe….STOP!!!, HALT!!!……this could be considered a jinx article…….

  14. Bird Says:

    Looking at you

Is that you webster? Changing name again

    Go noles!

  15. geno711 Says:

    Glad we got Wirfs.

I think of the offensive tackles only Wirfs and Wills Jr have worked out. Not as much Andrew Thomas and Mekhi Beckton taken before Wirfs.

    Austin Jackson
    Isiah Wilson
    Robert Hunt
    Ezra Cleveland
    Josh Jones
    Lucas Niang
    Matt Peart
    Shaadiq Charles
    Ben Bartch
    Charlie Heck

Were the next 10 tackles taken after Wirfs last draft. None able to provide any value.

Wirfs a huge upgrade over Dotson.

  16. BillyBucFan Says:

I’ve never heard an adult male cry and make excuses for a backup QB.
    NDOG is probably female IMO

  17. Aceofaerospace Says:

Don’t acknowledge the trolls then they’ll only have themselves to talk to. This is a Bucs fan sight not an “I’m so upset I may period all over myself site”. Go Bucs.

  18. Lamarcus Says:

Hate the “Goat” term. Its demon and Satanic symbol

  19. Buc1987 Says:

    Aceofaerospace…you just described Ndog to a T.

  20. Youngbucs Says:

Ndog Brady is helping the line also just like Brees and manning. Y’all get so caught up in all the running around that y’all are blind. Get rid of the ball faster throw the ball away know when to take sacks it’s called QB IQ.

  21. BucEmUp Says:

They better let Brady take some checkdowns this week or that D will get him a couple good times. Hopefully Leftwich has been handcuffed by now

  22. Youngbucs Says:

And by the way ndog and other excuse makers we’re 27th rushing. Guess what Brady is throwing a lot and we’re winning something y’all screamed he couldn’t do and wouldn’t be ask to do. You look more like a fool everyday Brady don’t need excuses made for him he’s 3-1 tht ends all the debate right there.

  23. Bucamania Says:

    RIP Eddie Van Halen

  24. Youngbucs Says:

And Brady is taking the deep drops in the offense everything you say is proven wrong so far.

  25. Bucsfanman Says:

    “I’m a Montana guy!”
    Amen Joe! Never sell out!

This is complementary football folks. It’s akin to discovering Jimmy Hoffa’s body in a shuttered Ybor cigar factory! Don’t be scared of it folks.
We’ve watched a one-sided ish-show for so long that we don’t know what we’re watching!

  26. Fartman Says:

Jameis preferred to just do a scramble drill than run the offense.

  27. D-Rome Says:

It’s no surprise. The mouth breathers out there blamed the offensive line, running backs, tight ends, and Byron Leftwich for all the sacks and QB hits Jay-Miss took.

I said it for years that the primary reason Jay-Miss was sacked was primarily his fault. His inability to throw accurate passes and make smart decisions is why teams blitzed him so often. With Jay-Miss teams could blitz and rattle him. With Brady if they blitz he makes them pay.

  28. Bird Says:

Who would you rather party with at a bucs game?

    Fartman

    Or

    Buc cheeks

    Tough call
    😂

  29. ManzielMadness Says:

Jameis also had a tendency to hold onto the ball for far too long… the addition of Wirfs has definitely helped though.

Um we’ve had a 100 yard rusher in 2 of the 4 games this year whereas last year we had 1 in 16 games.

Yeah your right it’s not better.

    🥴

  31. Ndog Says:

BTW there are no excuses they are FACTS.

I love the people that come on this site and say it’s the same defense as last year, the offensive line is the same it’s just the quarterback’s better so at the same time you’re also telling me you don’t think Tristan is better than Dotson, you don’t think our defense in a second year of White, Bunting, Dean, Edwards and a second year defense is better than last year is that what you’re telling me cuz if you people are saying that in your bigger fools I even thought you were.

  32. Joe in Michigan Says:

The Bucs are a better team with Tom Brady at QB, period. Any other gibberish is just people who are in denial.

  33. Ivan The Insider Says:

WHERE YOU FOOLS AT THAT WERE CRYING ABOUT THE BUCS GIVING UP A 4TH ROUNDER TO MOVE UP A SPOT TO SECURE WIRFS?

    LOL.

  34. Ivan The Insider Says:

    Ndog,

    You’re making STRAWMAN arguments, bud.

Improvements in the team don’t mean Winston would have played that much better and won that many more games. They wouldn’t cure his TURNOVER problem.

Winston would still be sacked more because he holds onto the ball too long. Brady often throws it away quickly when the play isn’t developing.

Winston also fumbled the ball quite often.

There’s no way the team this year would be having the success they are with Jameis Winston at QB. The players LOST FAITH in Winston. They often quit on games. They got tired of playing their butts off only to see him giveaway games with a bone-headed play everyone knew was coming any moment.

    AGAIN…

How come the entire NFL doesn’t believe Winston is a great QB but YOU somehow secretly know he is?

He TESTED THE MARKET and the market proved he was barely worth a minimum salary.

You’re telling me all the NFL Scouts, Executives, and professionals in the league are wrong but you’re right?

LOL. GIVE IT A REST. Join a Grief Support Group.

  35. Ivan The Insider Says:

    ONE MORE THING…

People are undervaluing another thing Brady has done very effectively…

    AUDIBLE.

How often did Winston audible? Brady is a MASTER at reading Defenses pre-snap and making any audible adjustments necessary. And it’s paying off big time. Winston was NEVER capable of consistently making necessary pre-snap adjustments.

  36. JimmyJack Says:

Any fan that wants to talk bad about our OL this year needs to get put on their place.

Tom Brady has not only stayed clean but has been given ample time in the pocket. Consistently.

Pass protection has been great……Run blocking. I dont se what you cpuld possibly complain about. Positive yards all day & we are seeing backs hit the second level often.

For now(key words) the OL has stepped up big time. Big test on Sunday. I expect another good game

  37. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog you are right we improved. But you didnt mention our upgrade at QB. Kinda a big position guy.

Of course you will say it is not a upgrade and my only reply will be to ask you when we can expect Brady to meltdown and give us a pathetic game? Because we all expected it with the last dude and he always delivered.

  38. JimmyJack Says:

Ivan great point about the fumbles. Im pretty sure Brady has no fumbled in the pocket this year. Saying in the pocket meaning on pass attempts and not the fumbled handoffs.

Im wondering if the last guy ever went 4 games without fumbling? I doubt it.

  39. Jeagan1999 Says:

Check this out….thru the first 4 games, TB12 has nearly identical stats with Patrick Mahomes!

    Mahomes….1,134 yds, 11 TD’s, 150 ATT, 101 Comp, 67.3%
    Brady……….1,122yds, 11 TD,s, 155 ATT, 101 Comp, 65.2%

Not bad for a 43 year old QB, with a brand new team, with very little training camp and no preseason games!

If everyone can stay healthy, imagine what the next 4 games could be like!

    GO BUCS! TB12 the GOAT!

  40. lambchop Says:

    @Joe,

I’m a HUGE Joe Montana fan. Collected over 200 of his cards, except that rookie card. Will get that at some point down the line. I was a young 80’s kid watching Niner games in Florida while going to the occasional Buc’s game at the Sombrero. We need to bring that name back along with the Thunder Dome.

  41. geno711 Says:

    Things we can smile at:

Tom Bassinger saying that Tom Brady had slipped because of his age.

  42. Ndog Says:

Brady fumbled at NO in game one. Know your FACTS. We did not improve at QB we improved around the QB that is it plain and simple.
And yes I would love to see Brady play QB with Wells starting at RT, no running game and kicker that misses every important kick and a defense that can’t stop a leaky faucet. Then maybe all you brainwashed puppets would shut the f up.

Also everyone ripping Jameis, just a year ago in the exact same week in the regular season, Jameis on the road destroyed a much much better Rams team coming off the flipping Superbowl. That might be more impressive than barley beating the 1 win Chargers with a rookie QB, missing 3 olinemen, their # 2 WR, two starting CBs, their All pro safety, the beast DE opposite Bosa and lost their starting RB in the first quarter.

But you know bias hate and all.

  43. Bird Says:

  45. Greg Says:

@Ndog you lost me at we did not improve at QB…

  46. Joe in Michigan Says:

The FACTS are that the Bucs are 3-1 with Brady as QB, and the other guy is a third stringer. Can these FACTS be ignored?

  47. Greg Says:

@Ndog its like comparing an exceptional teacher that is consistently evaluated as the best of the best regardless of their year and continues to improve their craft and a fifth year teacher with promise that keeps on repeating their first year. A good teacher that doesn’t capitalize on their experience.

    ______________

Jason Peters was undrafted and among the better tackles in the game for a long time. Dotson was fine for a large portion of his career. Just because you weren’t drafted and utterly useless as a human being doesn’t mean undrafted players can’t be good. Trent Brown was a 7th round pick and is among the highest paid in the league.

  49. El Buco Realisto Is a Dicko and NDogTurd is a Crybaby and TheBucsAnus is a Troll Says:

NDogTurd, the biggest FACT you’re missing is nobody here gives a F what you think. We’re Bucs fans, you’re the saints 3rd string QB fan.

  50. Joe in Michigan Says:

For someone to say that Dot wasn’t a good NFL player (he’s played 11 years with 107 starts) because he was an undrafted free agent, well, it shows that said person knows very little about football.

  51. Hahahahaha Says:

Yeah bucs fans are predominantly morons. I agree with you wholeheartedly ndog. Everyone acts like Jamies threw 30 picks every season when he never had more than 19 ever before. They expect a 25 year old to read defenses the same way a 43 year old vet does? Probably not gonna happen but to say that Jamkes will not succeed in this NFL is simply incorrect. Im glad you guys got your great qhote savior and I’ll root for him and the bics but this fanbase ALWAYS did jamies dirty. And he will definitely come back to haunt us like so many qbs in the past have. People forget we are a 10 win team last year if we ONLY fixed the kicking game. Not even the terrible first half defense and absolutely NO running game. You know that means ypu can just play dime defenses and play max pass pro right? Probably not though because you all have tunnel vision for a qb that got railroaded by the media every chance they got. But not people like Ben Roethlisberger right? Whats the difference between those qbs? Oh that’s right, pigmentation.

  52. Soggy Says:

@ HJAHA wow you got to use Ben and a race card to justify jamies on and off field suckage, jamies railroaded himself and was mostly a embarrassment to everything related to the bucs org.

  53. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog Brady is proving you wrong and proving he is a upgrade.

The last guy imploded game1 last year. Imploded later in London. Imploded multiple times down the stretch…………

The upgrade we needed at the QB position was not throwing games away like the last guy did several times every year his entire career. The upgrade must be measured by games not ruined. No other metric matters. It about games not stats.

So tell me about Brady melting down on the field? Show me his London game? Show me his game losing INTs? If hes not doing that hes better. Very simple.

  54. El Buco Realisto Is a Dicko and NDogTurd is a Crybaby and TheBucsAnus is a Troll Says:

Hahahahahaha, go jump in the crib with your buddy NDogTurd. You two can whisper #3’s 2020 stats to each other and cuddle.

  55. Joe in Michigan Says:

Yes, it has nothing to do with one guy who has a record 222-65 as a starting QB, the other guy has a 28-42 record. Nothing to do with it. Eye roll.

  56. Sauron's eye Says:

We do not know now what the outcome of this season will be, so we cannot yet compare it to the last one. But we can say that without Brady, we would not have signed the new vets we have, and kept some vets, they wouldn’t play here. Also come from behind wins used to be very few and far between around here. I am so excited about winning at the end of the games. We are a team coming together and getting it done. The team has potential to compete at the highest level.
