Still Not Buying

October 16th, 2020

Non-believer. Still.

When everyone was jumping on the Bucs bandwagon this offseason (partly because everyone was locked in their house and got tired of cleaning up kids’ puke), one person stood on the sidewalk laughing maniacally while throwing rocks at the bandwagon as it rolled down the street.

And that was Dianna Russini of BSPN.

If you read and listen to enough of Russini’s explanations of why she has been so adamant that the park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting Tom Brady would fail in his first year with the Bucs and not reach the playoffs, you realize someone (or some people) on the roster of the Belicheats told her it would take too long for Brady to learn the Bucs offense because Brady is a creature of habit and flipping to the Bucs is such a radical change for him.

Yeah, here we go again. It takes time!

If you want to sell Joe that the Bucs are 3-2 because of injuries, Joe will listen (this is not insignificant).

If you want to sell Joe that the Bucs are 3-2 because too many Bucs are overrated, Joe will listen.

If you want to sell Joe that the Bucs are 3-2 because Brady is not a good fit in Arians’ offense, Joe will listen.

If you want to sell Joe that the Bucs are 3-2 because the Bucs are overrated, Joe will listen.

But this nonsense that Brady needs more time to learn — stop it! Stop it now!

Please inform Joe in great detail how much time rookie quarterback Justin Herbert needed to transform the Chargers’ offense?

Please inform Joe how in the world rookie Joe Burrow looked like a seasoned pro in his very first game with the Bengals?

Please inform Joe why Teddy Bridgewater didn’t need five games to learn his new teammates and coaches in Carolina?

Please inform Joe how much time second-year quarterback Kyler Murray needed to get used to DeAndre Hopkins?

Please inform Joe how much time a young quarterback playing in his first year with Arians needed when he led the league in passing and became one of only eight human beings who ever walked the earth to throw for over 5,000-yards passing in a season?. YouKnowWho.

Is Russini suggesting all of five of those quarterbacks are better and/or smarter than Brady? That sure as hell is what she is implying. How else to explain Brady needs more time than those five quarterbacks?

Joe also remembers a fortysomething quarterback not that long ago who flipped to a brand new team and won 10 of his first 11 games en route to an NFC title game. You know, Brett Favre?

Please quit insulting people’s intelligence that Brady needs time. Or if you really believe that, go ahead and take the next step and say Brady has some learning disability.

To the best of Joe’s knowledge, Brady is not afflicted with any sort of malady.

You can see Russini’s full take in the BSPN video below.

    Would.

  2. DBS Says:

Are you still crying about this Joe. You are worse than a little kid. Oh but Joe doe not cry. The hell you don’t

  3. Lamarcus Says:

Only JW haters bought into the most. Now they’re sucking their thumbs and making every excuse in the books.

  4. Swampbuc Says:

Joe — the thing you are dismissing is that the other young quarterbacks you’ve mentioned have been in at least a few systems over the last few years. They are more accustomed to change and being young, they are good at adjusting to change. Or at least better at it than an old geezer.

Brady was in one system for 20 years and is now learning a very different system at the age of 43. It takes longer for the old dog to learn new tricks, especially if he knows the old ones so well. And he did know the old tricks so well it may be inhibiting his learning the new tricks. He was used to doing things by habit. He is now clearly thinking too much a lot of the time. He may never really get comfortable with the system and that would be too bad for the Bucs and we fans because that smells like 8-8 or 7-9.

  5. JimmyJack Says:

Umm Joe Im really confused here because your looking for the answer to 3-2, 3-2, 3-2……..So why in the world are you talking about Burrows and Herbert for? I dont understand the correlation…….Not when your asking for the reason we are 3-2. Them guys are losers.

Kyler Murray? Hes been on Arizona 2 years.

Teddy also has a 3-2 record so hes done the same. And lost head to head.

Now this is just me talking but when I hear people talking about needing more time I take it with a higher meaning then just one player……….if I had to defend the point about more time I would say what it means is we need more time as a team….more time to become a true contender……And Joe I think its hard to argue that it does take time to build a Championship team……..So if you flip it back around can we say definitively that Burrows, Teddy and Kyler are Championship QBs that flipped losing franchises into contenders….Doing what Brady cant? I dont think so.

  6. Joe Says:

So why in the world are you talking about Burrows and Herbert for?

Did those two guys need a five-game learning curve with their new teams and new coaches (and new leagues)?

Joe thought this was all fairly obvious. 🤷‍♂️

  7. TampaTown Says:

Joe! *slap face right, slap face left* Snap out of it! You’re the captain of the ship and we need you here! Get ahold of yourself man! What you think is defeat, I think is gonna be our finest hour. Packers? Pfft. Bring it on.

  8. Joe Says:

Are you still crying about this Joe.

You see Joe on BSPN’s set claiming Brady is too dumb to learn a new system in five games?

    Would.
    ……….

I see what you did there

  10. JimmyJack Says:

Joe concerning Burrows and Herbert they apparently need more then a 5 game learning curve. Last I checked both are hanging out on the basements of their divisions.

What do you think Burrows or Herbert could be here in Tampa and we would be 5-0? I find that just a little hard to believe.

But hey maybe your right. Burrows and Herbert might be playing in Janurary while we finish 8-8. I wont count that out. I just wont be betting on it.

Brady vs Green Bay? I like my chances.
Herbert leads the Bucs vs Green Bay? P.U.

  11. DBS Says:

No I see joe doing his same crap crying because people saying they had no pre season and so on. Same thing he has been crying about everytime someone says opens their mouth he has a stroke.

  12. Bobby M. Says:

Our problem is pretty simple…..Leftwich is in his 2nd year play calling with a completely different QB then he had last year. I personally dont think he’s that great of an OC, he did nothing with Rosen in Arizona….He couldn’t get Winston on track, now he has Brady and we’re waiting for this offense to dominate. I just dont think he’s very good at his job or needs more experience. He just doesn’t seem ready for the role he’s in.

  13. danr Says:

i guess joe just cant comprehend that the injuries that he allows as a valid concern, can compound the timing thing, which he says should be no big deal.

it’s ok joe, we don’t expect all that much out of you.

  14. Lamarcus Says:

    Bobby M

You beat me to it. BL and his play calling has been underwhelming since he been a OC both in AZ and TB. Time for us to realize that all QB under his realm has declined

  15. Ndog Says:

JimmyJack are you serious? You’re sitting here calling Herbert a loser? This is THE EXACT same narrow minded thinking everyone here had about Jameis.

LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR QBs CANNOT WIN FOOTBALL GAMES ON THEIR OWN!!!!!!

Herbert is playing outstanding football! Is it his fault his kicker missed in NO? Is it his fault his defense fell apart against the old man, spolied QB here?

And oh yeah the Bucs have so many injuries how can Brady possiblity put up points? Well Herbert has been missing Williams, Allen, Eckler 2-3 olinemen and his offense is plenty productive.

Get outta here with that nonsense.

  16. Chris Boyd Says:

the reason why we are not 4-1 is because we are beatingourselves! the stupid penalties at the worst time, inconsistent effort defensively, no real identity on offense, dropped passes here and there. top it off with the fact that we haven’t had our full arsenal of weapons, and i would say we’re lucky to be 3-2 right now. we have a rough stretch coming up, and then what looks like a relatively easy back quarter of the season, so if we fix some of the stupid stuff (that has plagued us for years, so I’m not sure I’m convinced that we will), we should be primed and ready come playoffs time.

  17. chris L Says:

it is completely stupid i agree.

  18. JimmyJack Says:

Ndog calm down. Im not namecalling like a baby Im labling them as losers based strictly on record.

My whole reply was in direct refrence to the 3-2 record Joe mentioned and how to sell it to him.

You wanna join the argument dont start a new one.

So go head big shot. You sell me how this team would be 5-0 with Herbert.. ..You cant cause you wont. And you couldnt even sell me how Herbert could be 3-2. He would not be able to rally a historic comeback win like Brady done.

Herbert looks fine but hes a rookie. Hes not ready to lead a playoff run.

  19. Buddha Says:

Herbert is 0-4. Stats are overrated, you think.

Hey Paul, it’s kind of funny he didn’t use the moniker this time… After asking him a question. Hmm! Interesting, I’m sure he’ll use it again tho! That train is never late!
The archives are here for all to view. Joe doesn’t used the moniker even close to every time, (only 50% right JOE) but feel free to continue to pretend Joe does if it makes you fulfilled. –Joe

  21. ArmchairGM Says:

I don’t take national commentators seriously. Most saw their first or second Bucs game last Thursday. They probably didn’t know Evans and Miller were hobbled while Godwin and Watson were out. On top of that, Bears were getting pressure with only 4 rushing. Most QBs are going to struggle vs. that. I’ll be concerned if the offense sputters this week or if Carolina lights up the Bears’ D.

  22. danr Says:

not all the archives. he definitely deletes some stories, (at least the morning joe ones)

  23. SB Says:

    @JimmyJack………….He can’t handle rational discussions.
    Don’t waste your time

  24. Shaun King Says:

    >>> Herbert is 0-4. Stats are overrated, you think. <<<

    I agree!!!

  25. BigMacAttack Says:

All refs suck. Cheaters. It was criminal what the stinking cheating refs allowed the Saints to do to Brett Favre in that playoff game. Never seen so many giant bruises on a quarterback. Again, like last week, that game was decided before they got off the plane.

  26. Mike Johnson Says:

Well if Russini is not buying, I certainly am. What you drinkin sweet cakes?

  27. BigMacAttack Says:

We will see if the refs do the same thing to the Bucs this week. Hopefully it’s a different officiating crew. I hate to say it but they’re going to stick it to us again. The Packers are one of their pet teams.

  28. Cannon Says:

I don’t really place any of these losses on Brady… so her argument is kind of invalid. Yes, he hasn’t been perfect, but he’s been more than adequate, even above average.

Our problems have been mostly playcalling, penalties and drops. Mix in some periods of soft defense, and you have a 3-2 team.

  29. Bucsfanman Says:

So, raise your hand if you didn’t think that the Bucs would be, arguably, the most scrutinized team in the NFL this season because of the Brady signing.
    Yeah, didn’t think so!
Raise your hand if you feel more comfortable with Brady at QB vs. the Pack than the previous QB.
    Yeah, I thought so.
Rodgers is a great QB. OK. So is Brady. Now, go down the roster at each position and tell me how much better the Packers are than the Bucs.
See, this is why they play the games. We’ll see on Sunday, won’t we?!

  30. Ndog Says:

Let’s see how did Herbert do versus Saints and how did Brady do versus Saints this year?

Herbert threw for 264 with 4 touchdowns zero turnovers.

Brady threw for 239 for 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, including a pick 6.

Let’s also keep in mind that Herbert did that without his top receiver whereas Brady had his full compliment of players available.

So yeah with a quarterback who’s not scared of getting hit and doesn’t turn the ball over we would have beaten the Saints in game one.

Also last time I checked I don’t think I’ve seen Herbert forget what down it is so if we had a quarterback who knew it down it was we probably would have beat the Bears as well.

I know none of you will admit it but we have two losses this year both because of the quarterback!!!!

  31. Ndog Says:

One clarification Bucsfanman, Brady is not a great quarterback!

He might have been a great quarterback but I don’t care we did the last 19 years I care about what he’s doing now. He’s anything but great! He’s scared, he’s timid, he’s inaccurate and he’s undecisive and by the way he doesn’t even know what freaking down it is.

    Yeah really flipping great!

  32. REDZONE BA Says:

Curious to hear thoughts from posters on Brady’s sacks and what that may mean for wins going forward. Yes, I know 76 stinks, yada yada. It seemed like during the Bears game, Brady “quickly” dropped to ground when he felt pressure and/or knew obvious sack was coming. Some of my thoughts:

    1. Given immobility, Brady quickly gave up without a fight to avoid injury and or TO
    2. Maybe BA told Brady to drop to ground and take sacks to avoid injury, given our backup QB does not inspire confidence to win if Brady is injured.
    3. Packers D does not seem to have a decent pass rush. So this game should be better for less or no sacks, but Brady’s immobility and panicky throws during pressure seems to recipe for opponents.
    4. How much do play calls contribute?

I like our Oline, and especially Jensen’s nastiness, and they are opening up running lanes better than ever and seem to be jelling as a unit. Other than 76, who is the SAME PLAYER he has been for 5 yrs and will be for the rest of year.

Finally – I 100% agree with Joe’s that the “learning curve/getting used to each other” is total BS.

    So what is the answer?

NDogTurd, remind us again how many TD’s your QB has thrown?

  34. Ndog Says:

⬆️ only if you remind Brady how many downs there are in each possession.

  35. El Buco Realisto Is a Dicko and NDogTurd is a Crybaby and TheBucsAnus and LovesJameisTighties are Trolls Says:

I guess 0 is too high for NDogTurd to count.

  36. Anika Guldstrand Says:

I have no idea why you’re using two rookie QBs who have combined for 1 win all season as examples. Tom has 3x the wins of the two of them combined. Tom has a 5 TD game – neither has done that.

Tom lost the opener at NO – uh, yeah, like almost every other NFL does every year

The only other loss is on a short week road game with the entire receiving core either out or injured.

That’s it – those are the two losses. Get a grip, people.

  37. Mirrormirroronthewall Says:

    Ndog,

You killing him with the truth bro. He crying and having fits saying that pesky Ndog. He can lie to others, but he cannot lie to himself. When you hit him with the truth, it burns like 🔥

  38. BuucccNASTY Says:

Joe if your already back to the bash out QB part of the season I’ll tune in next year.. come on man chill with that BS. Would rather have your write nothing at all than this page stuffer BS

Mirrormirroronthewall, you are in good company with your fellow #3 NutHugger. You two make a nice couple. Don’t get too jealous over his #3 blow up doll though!

  40. Brandon Says:

Favre wasn’t in a brand new offense. Even N-dope’s beloved #3 took a few games to really get heated up and round into classic pick 6 throwing form.

  41. Aaron Says:

This is a joke right? Lol I’ve never seen so much hate for a 3-2 team. Does this article even get written if they pulled it out against the Bears and are 4-1 instead? Brady would usually be 3-2 right now with the Pats too
