“Last Year We Would Have Had Our @ss Beat By 20”

October 4th, 2020

Would have been proud.

Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians once worked for famed Alabama football coach Bear Bryant.

Arians gets emotional when he speaks about Bryant. Arians was on Bryant’s staff for his final year as a coach and he died very shortly after coaching that final game. Arians has a portrait of Bryant in his office.

Bryant was big on his players demonstrating “character” and having a sense of pride. Arians said on the Buccaneers Radio Network after the game his team showed its character by rallying from a 24-7 deficit to win.

“We found out how much character we have,” Arians said, noting at halftime they were eager to get back on the field.

“Last year we would have had our @ss beat by 20,” Arians said.

Whoa! What does that tell you? That tells Joe not only did Brady grab this team by the youknowwhat and show leadership and carry the team.

And it showed that the defense both saw Brady lift the team and saw Lavonte David balling out to get critical stops late in the game to help preserve the win.

“Character.” That was Bryant’s big talking point. And his former assistant took that to heart. And it seems it’s finally rubbing off on his Bucs team.

The Bucs showed pride when they needed it the most.

  5. Swampbuc Says:

I was thinking the same thing. Jameis would have thrown more interceptions and tried too hard. I didnā€™t expect what we saw. Bravo!

  6. ElioT Says:

    Absolutely.

    Go Bucs!!!

  7. Leighroy Says:

I mean any doubt about Brady should be put to bed. This is why heā€™s the GOAT, despite not being an all-athlete.

Now retiring the 10-yard out pass after another pick6 in 2 years of this failure of a route is a immediate necessity.

  8. NaplesBucsFan Says:

Iā€™ll take the win, you need to win the games you ā€œshouldā€. Still concerned with this team overall once we start playing good teams. Chargers got a good rookie QB, but they have a decimated team with injuries. They had a lot of backups and we barely squeaked it out. Gotta take the ā€œout routeā€ outta the playbook…it ainā€™t working and itā€™s been 2 pick sixes this year. BOTH on Brady, NOT the receiver or play all…he made those throws when he shouldnā€™t have.

  10. D-Rome Says:

The biggest reason for today’s win is that this team has leadership and poise at the QB position which was missing for the past 10 years.

  11. EA Says:

    Sorry J-Dub.

  12. tampabaybucfan Says:

I know the Rojo article is on the way.

Rojo 20 carries for 111 yards..5.5 ypc……..yep, he dropped a couple but had a great game…….runs very, very hard.

Chargers…..23 carries for 46 yards…….our run defense continues to stifle teams.

  13. August 1976 Buc Says:

    Right on D-Rome says – It is good to have TOM BRADY – G O A T

  14. NaplesBucsFan Says:

Great that we keep stuffing the run, BUT if the opposing team can move the ball through the air then that keeps them in the game…today is exhibit 1

  15. Red86 Says:

Coach took the words out of mouth. Great comeback. Now to get Rojo to stop trying to catch the ball like a non athletic 4 yr old.

  16. Ndog Says:

What’s ridiculous is that if Jameis played this exact same game and did several times BTW Giants and Seahawks) and we lost everyone blames him but if the defense blows in the 4th today NO ONE would have blamed Brady.

It simply shows how much hate there was and nothing he did was going to be good enough. You people should be ashamed of yourselves.

  17. August 1976 Buc Says:

Winning football is fun, losing is not. GO BUCS!!!!

  18. 123urout Says:

Great Day Tom-pa Bay ! Thank God we have Tom ā€œthe GOATā€ Brady in our team!

  19. Bellingham Bucs Fan Says:

There it is, folks: your obligatory NDog straw man. Last one out, turn out the lights.

  20. Eric Says:

NDOG gets a boner thinking about Jameis

  21. Rayjay1122 Says:

No, Ndog. We are all ashamed of you.

  22. August 1976 Buc Says:

I have watched this team since 1976, that means I have watched many more losses than wins by far. The worst won loss record in the NFL since the Bucs started playing. I do not care what the name of the player is. Losing S*cks and winning is fun. Just win baby!! GO BUCS!!!

  23. DoooshLaRue Says:

Ndog, if we all just agree with you about the Jaymiss hate conspiracy being a real thing………

    Will you finally STFU?

  24. Brandon Says:

    Will you finally STFU?

Yeah really, go blow up the boards of the other 31 teams that didn’t sign him to be a starter. Peyton Barber got more guaranteed cash then JW lol!

  26. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Yeah they know they can win now!! They won’t have Winston throwing the pick 6 with 54 seconds left 3 time outs and down by 3!!! Amazing what a good QB can do for a team!! I believe this is the most team game in the world… But when Brady was marching down the sideline telling them all to get their head out their butts it meant a lot!! Not just because he says it but because he backs it up!! Winston NEVER had a game you could point to and say they won that game because of Winston!!!

  27. Youngbucs Says:

Iā€™m loving ndog meltdowns this is classic stuff šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ¤”

  28. RICHARD weeks Says:

NDog ashamed??? We finally have a quarterback that will not lose the game for us..How many games did you ever feel jameis was going to win? We always knew in the 4th quarter he was going to give the game away..Tell us this Ndog, why isn’t jameis starting for another team?

  29. Walter Says:

Jameis is pure dumpster juice. No progression in 5 years.

  30. Bird Says:

    No hate here at all

We think you are funny. This is bringing us all together We like winning
Sorry you dont . Your comments right now are amazing. Please keep them up. I mean i think your 50 plus anf you are acting like 50 months.

And you were so happy at halftime just waiting to pounce. Brady thru 5 tds

    Get real N. Puppy!!!!

  34. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

    Ndoggystyle. You are absolutely delusional!

  35. Boltsfan17 Says:

Games like this have been unnecessary losses that defined their season. Brady pulled them back from the brink. As long he can stay healthy this team has a chance.

  36. bojim Says:

    dog boy. Move on.

  37. Buczilla Says:

We’ve never (duh) had a quarterback like this before. I’m going to enjoy this while I can since Brady is old as hell. I really hope that he sticks around next year and we get a young dude like Herbert (next year’s draft is packed with quarterbacks) to watch and learn. Awesome season so far.

  38. 813bucboi Says:

    Ugly wins build character

    Keep stacking Ws…,

    GO BUCS

  39. 123urout Says:

ā€œIf this was last year, we would have been beaten by 20 pointsā€…. OUCH !!!!

  40. Cannon Says:

This was a game that Jameis would of lost.

I say that as a fan who enjoyed watching Jameis play.

  41. Waterboy Says:

Jameis would have come back out after the 3 and out stand by the defense after half-time and given the ball right back to the Chargers and killed all momentum.

  42. lambchop Says:

People talking about has-beens after a victory are no Bucs fans. Straight casual AF losers.

  43. Nolesman Says:

Being an FSU grad I was a huge Jameis fan and was extremely excited when we drafted him. Letā€™s face two undeniable facts:
1.) As of this off-season, 31 teams did not want him
2.) offensive and defensive weapons were not clamoring to come to Tampa to play with Jameis
Heā€™s essentially a third string QB on one of our biggest rivals. Nothing left to talk about. Losers lament how things shouldā€™ve or couldā€™ve been. Winners take their situation and improve those around them to overcome and persevere. Itā€™s a harsh commentary on professional sports and life, but thatā€™s the way it goes.

  44. Jackie Jenkins Jr Says:

Last week @BruceArians tried to throw Jamies under the bus! This week the GOAT @TomBrady forgot how many downs there was & it cost them the game Haha! Can’t wait til @Saints make FamousJamies QB Nxt Yr & he get Arians FIRED! #Karma #FootballGodsSaySTFU #TNF #WhoDat
