Key To Bucs Success

October 28th, 2020

Enjoys watching Bucs tape.

Yes, it is nearing giddy times for Bucs fans.

The halfway mark of the season is next Monday night when the Bucs travel to New Jersey to face the bungling Giants.

(Anyone who remembers that debacle last year should know the Bucs probably want to kick the crap out of the Giants.)

A victory puts the Bucs at 6-2 halfway. Raise your hands if you wouldn’t have taken that record before the season began?

Of course, the Bucs blasted the Raiders on Sunday and NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger took a deep dive into coaches’ tape to see what working for the Bucs offense.

Baldinger, a former NFL offensive lineman, believes the Bucs’ offensive line is the star of the show stuck in the shadows. He boasted how, thanks to the Bucs’ offensive line, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting Bucs quarterback Tom Brady didn’t even need to get his uniform laundered.

Baldinger just raved about the offensive line and how all of Brady’s weapons were clicking on Sunday.

Then Baldinger asked, what do the Bucs need mercurial wide receiver Antonio Brown for?

You can see Baldinger’s take in the video below.

Hope “rolling the dice” gamble w this mercurial talent and personality pays off for the Bucs.

Me – I see a disaster on the horizon.

  2. Jason Says:

With Godwin inability to stay healthy having another player that many view as a top tier receiver doesn’t hurt.

  3. JameisAlmighty Says:

Antonio Brown is the key to success for the Bucs. That’s assuming that Brady can still throw the ball by game 9. Brady looks really bad and is getting very lucky. His luck will run out just Ike the Falcons fortunes will turn around. The positive is that any QB could look good right now. Johnny Manziel would be a superstar for the Bucs if given the chance and lead off BSPN. Plus Tom Brady jinxed the Rays with his World Series intro. Brady needs to do the honorable thing and quit.

    ^^^^^^

there’s your new troll guys…have fun

  5. adam from ny Says:

wow that baldinger tape was great…

i smiled ear to ear watching the whole way thru…

the only thing good about these all white color rush unis we seem to wear every darn week is it shows just how clean tom can remain during a game…

  6. Coburn Says:

Love baldys colourful commentary. Bad a certain entertaining flavour to it. Gisele isn’t doing laundry, this is like a tide commercial…. Another spike.. I don’t think that ball ever came down… He’s got this real deep meat head sorta voice too lol

  7. REDZONE BA Says:

Fact are that Bucs need Brady to be healthy QB to compete for playoffs or SB. I hold my breath every game when the Oline breaks down. Brady instinctively FALLS to the ground to avoid HITS, which is smart. So the odds of Brady getting injured are minimized by his actions.

We only face a couple of teams with great pass rushes, so we are in good shape to have Brady for the entire season.

  8. D1 Says:

    2019 Winston: Completed 153-of-263 for 2,072 yards, with 14 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a 2-5 record.

2020 Brady: Completed 176-of-268 for 1,910 yards, with 18 touchdowns, four interceptions and a 5-2 record.

Oh yes Brady is looking bad. I have doubts about his arm lasting another week. If He’s lucky , then He’s got going for him.

  9. Rio de Janeiro Bucs Fan Says:

The Bucs Oline was very underrated before this season. We all were confident that Marpet and Jensen will do their part, but the other three….
I always trusted Alex Cappa. It still puzzles me why in 2018 he was kept benchwarming for Caleb Benecoch, even when the season was lost. Sad times…
Wirfs was my favorite OT in this draft and I could’t believe that he’s fallen to the Bucs. The big guy is a Pro Bowler already, great pick.
And Donovan Smith is doing ok. He’s overpaid, but slightly above average, imo.
Overall, they’re doing a great job, only Khalil Mack managed to beat them more than a couple of snaps.
    Go Bucs!!!

  10. REDZONE BA Says:

GEEZ – Why the JW comparisons? We are in 2020.

Focus on BRADY….Brady is NOT competing with JW. Brady is competing with our opposing teams.

  11. D1 Says:

    Redzone,

I only put it out there because of a ridiculous post by a Jameis enthusiast!

But to your point, 100% agree!

  12. Kobe Faker Says:

“Lol the misled Buc Sheep football IQ

    Very simple

The ball is coming out fast

Brady is not holding the ball and alot less continuous unnecessary BL deep routes

You cant blitz and sack Brady when he doesnt have the ball”

    Kobe Faker

  13. August 1976 Buc Says:

Keep Toms Jersey clean = Winning. Bradys numbers to WRs right now are better than his 2007 numbers to WRs. He hits the recievers in stride consistantly. Brady dropped a pearl from heaven to Scotty Miller. You see such a difference in the way Brady throws with touch and other QB’s do not. It is pretty cool to watch Brady just flick the bàll with touch and basically hand the ball to somebody 30 yards down the field, just like the one to Scotty in the corner of the End zone. Other QB’s here in the past like Josh Freeman and Jameis just did throw like that, with consistant accuracy and touch. Sure Jameis and Josh could make alot of throws, But since the Master got here, it has been a sweet reminder in how an accurate QB will just carve up defences up if you do not hit them. Clean Jersey for Tom and legit defence = Championdhip Run. NFC CHAMPIONSHIP ROLLS THROUGH TAMPA BABY!!! GO BUCS!!!

  14. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

D1, I believe the Jameis post was satire.

  15. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Thank you Jack just about to say that! It is a little obvious. Once you really look at his posts. Last year this line was deservedly maligned because opposing linemen lived in the backfield. It’s why the qb had to run around so much avoiding sacks absolutely the run game was so lousy getting hit in the backfield. That’s why some thought that Brady wouldn’t last the year. They gave up 47 sacks easily could’ve been 77. This year it has been the unsung hero. Against Chicago was a different story even though the run game was good. They keep getting better each game Tom will put up some big numbers big wins and hopefully a big ring and a few trophies

  16. james west Says:

what’s up baldy, sing it brother loud and proud!

  17. Joe in Michigan Says:

Since the Bucs are ALL IN for 2020…How about Quinnen Williams of the Jets for a draft pick or 2?

  18. Alanbucsfan Says:

Then Baldinger asked, what do the Bucs need mercurial wide receiver Antonio Brown for?
Like it or not, because of what happened to OJ and Vea , Bucs want talented receiver depth.

  19. Paul Says:

Still showing no CLASS in how you treat the GOAT!!

What a Joke still using that disrespectful Moniker!

Hey JOE do you think it is showing Respect to Brady or it’s just so darn funny and witty that you keep using it?

Pathetic and CHILDISH and UNPROFESSIONAL and CHILDISH!

  20. Bird Says:

Yah. Jameis almighty is a straight troll

    Not a buc fan
Not sure if someone else’s fan in division or just a seminoles fan so he is butt hurt
    Dont even need to comment

Yah. Anyone could put up these numbers here. Jameis never did. 18 Td and 4
    Int

Brady will be at 5 to 1 td to int ratio by next game. Its not even close between this year and last year. We wouldn’t be .500 team right now.
Who cares about yardage but watch brady yardage and what is is on for
And win at the same time.

369 yards and 4 touchdowns with no picks and a rushing td
If jameis did that the winstonnites would be at one buc licking the flag pole

  21. Bird Says:

The most impressive throw above was when the defender and olineman are 2 feet from brady and he doesnt ever flinch. Talk about pocket awareness.

  22. Gofortheface30 Says:

What do the Bucs need Antonio Brown for? Oh I dunno – maybe because Godwin and Evans are ALWAYS hurt? Hey couple of great dudes, it time to call it like it is. Evans does this thing where seems to wince every time he gets tackled. Godwin has had FOUR injuries since last yr. is it selfish of me to be annoyed by it, sure. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s getting really old really fast

  23. Defense Rules Says:

I could listen to Baldy’s play breakdowns all day long Joe. His enthusiasm is totally infectious. I’ve never heard anyone get so excited about a ‘delayed spike’. I was roaring at his “Look at that spike. The ball never came down”. And it was even funnier when he used it the 2nd time.

Baldy’s point about the Bucs OLine is spot on. They’re playing lights-out; their run-blocking has improved considerably, but their pass protection has REALLY become special. Keep the GOAT clean and he’ll eat you alive with the weapons that we have. Our OLine (and our DLine) are making this machine purr.

  24. Youngbucs Says:

Redzoneba and jameisalmighty the last trolls left😂😂😂 Ndog scared you show his face and oneilbucs on other platforms still crying about jameis it’s pathetic.

  25. orlbucfan Says:

If you study the great offensive lines like the Redskins’ Hawgs, one fact emerges. Once the players are there, they have to have time to develop chemistry and jell. Wirfs may be the final piece on a line that is doing so. This offense…..I can’t get over it. It is the best one Tampa Bay has ever fielded. Kudos to Baldinger on his accolades for Ungodly Godwin: “complete player.” No sh1t! BA knows it and is letting him rest and heal.

  26. #1bucfan Says:

I said before in one of my comments that all the pressure is on the Oline. If they give Brady time then he will literally pick apart defenses with all the weapons. If they don’t give Brady time we are going to be in trouble. Pretty simple the game is won in the trenches. Keep it up Oline y’all playing some great football. Let’s go Bucs

  27. ClodHopper Says:

    That was a fun video

  28. Defense Rules Says:

Gofortheface30 … Look at both Evans & Godwin’s career availabilities prior to this year and they’ve both been studs. BOTH have averaged 15 games played each year of their career PRIOR to this year. That’s fantastic for #1 & #2 WRs. What’s even more remarkable is that both of them are on the field each game for about 80% of the offensive snaps. IOW lots of blocking in addition to their route running.

One thing I’ve noticed this year is that almost all of our WRs have been beaten up, as well as out TEs (and even our RBs). Lots of hammys in there, as well as other leg issues. It would seem logical to assume that SOMETHING DIFFERENT has transpired since last season. Hmmm, makes one wonder if the lack of a real off-season has had an impact on guys in those particular position groups.

    ———————————————————————-
They really should call his show: ‘Lovable Meathead.’

  30. Hodad Says:

So the only difference with this O line is Wirfs replaced Dot, and they’re playing that much better then last year? Well yeah. Dotson had been a penalty, or a sack waiting to happen. Think Cappa is playing better because he has a good RT next to him for a change. The biggest difference might be who’s behind center, you think? Brady doesn’t waste time back there. That check down to Miller was a perfect example.

  31. Gofortheface30 Says:

Defense rules – good take. Agree 100%. My own justification for the frustration is that Brady came specifically for those 2, and while Brady finds himself in MVP conversation again – he’s still 43, it’s still all about this yr (next yr isn’t promised) and this is a really really bad time to be unreliable as far as availability. We are THE team this yr. Turn on first take, undisputed, get up, the herd, any nationally syndicated sports show you can think of and they’re talking Tampa Bay Bucs. This is the yr, I have low patience to wait around and hope the 80% health magically turns to 100% and I am guessing so does Brady and Bruce, which is why they got Antonio Brown. They aren’t f’ing around

  32. 813bucboi Says:

    oline coach needs a raise!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  33. Jersey buc Says:

Lot of Godwin highlights. Sucks he’s out again. DAM! Hopefully mikes getting better. Should def have enough to beat the giants. Bucs are deep but still sucks Godwin is out he’s a straight baller!

  34. Dano407 Says:

Need AB because out receivers can’t stay healthy. Godwin is out AGAIN.

  35. Dano407 Says:

If our receivers could stay healthy Bucs would avg 40ppg

  36. Cobraboy Says:

I like Scott Miller, but he still doesn’t get much respect. He is still single-covered and often not even a safety over the top. That’s kinda weird considering his damage.

Of course, that also means a double is somewhere else. Evans? Godwin? Gronk?

Adding a Brown to the mix, depth notwithstanding, makes the doubling issue even more pronounced.

I really like Miller, but fact is he’s no Antonio Brown. I suspect Miller will be a Buc long after Brown and maybe one other star WR are cap casualties.

  37. '79 Defense Says:

Poor Baldinger. He probably didn’t know that it’s pretty much illegal these days to suggest that a wife be one to do some laundry. I hope he gets out of this okay.

  38. jcscycles Says:

I think JameisAlmighty is a plant from the Falcoholics blog. Who else would think that the Parakeets will turn their season around? Rumors had them shopping Julio and Mattie Ice around, but no takers. That’s the ultimate White Flag waving move.

  39. Dapostman Says:

My god it’s always been about the offensive line.

When they have been good the offense has been good.

  40. BA Redzone Says:

@D1 – no worries, all good here.

The moral compass of this country is gone!! It’s why useful idiots and sheep are fooled into thinking there’s a racism problem in this country… It’s why the song W.A.P. was number one in the country for so long… It’s the reason for the movie cuties!!! I don’t know if we’ll get it back because people don’t even realize what we lost!! … It started in the 60s when the elite created a movement that said tune in turn on and drop out!! The hippie movement was not grass roots!! It was manufactured to pull the family unit apart!! Man what a job they did!! Now they can sell your kids toy dolls that look like whores so they’ll grow up to be little whores and spend all that money on little whore dolls for their kids!! And blast immoral songs on the radio!!…. The A.B. thing and the reaction by people in the comments here makes me very sad for what we have lost in this country!! You people need to find God and find your morals and not accept anything less than the highest of standards for our leaders, heros and role models!!! … I don’t think any of you have the balls to go against the grain tho!! All these people think they’re different and fighting for the little guy while being funded by Facebook Twitter and big tech companies that just want to sell you immorality!!!! You people are lost and the A.B. issues is proof!!!
