Ultimate Endorsement For Shaq Barrett 2020

September 1st, 2020

Still drinking Cam Newton’s Gatorade.

For those concerned that NFL sacks leader Shaq Barrett was a classic one-hit wonder last season, this should ease your angst considerably.

This morning, Joe asked Bucs future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski a simple question that wasn’t about Barrett. And Joe got a very direct and detailed response.

JoeBucsFan.com: What’s one big thing or player that stands out for you on this Bucs defense?

Rob Gronkowski: I like Barrett’s quickness. It definitely stands out; I go versus him all the time. His quickness is unbelievable. If it’s in the pass game or if it’s in the run game, you gotta be on your toes at all times. And you gotta be super aware with him at all times, because in the run game he can slip right by you; in the pass game he can rush right around you. And it’s very, very difficult to get him because he’s so slippery like that and he’s so quick. So that stands out. I go versus him a lot and he’s gotten me. I’m not going to lie; he’s gotten plenty of times. I’ve gotten him a few times, but I think he’s gotten me more than I got him. So I gotta say, that stands out tremendously, man.

Great stuff there from Gronk, and it’s got Joe wondering/fantasizing. Might Shaq be better this season?

More likely that old retired Gronk has lost the heart to block!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sheep will finally notice this once they really start to “shelve” Gronk’s playing time by game four due to his liability blocking!!!!!!!!!!!!! So in “reality” the bucs got fleeced for a third round pick, and 10 million for a taller, slower, no heart blocking version of C Brate that will be limping on and off the field, if he can even stay off IR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey UB are you defending your title this year?

  4. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Hard to believe Shaq was a backup before moving to the Bucs. Hopefully we lock him up for a long term contract after this season,

the one hit wonder nonsense was BS….

SHAQ will get 14+ sack this year…JPP will get 10+…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

    Suh-Vea-Gholston
    JPP-White-David-Shaq

2nd year together so they will be playing fast.

Saints should preserve Brees and play JW week 1?!!!

  7. Red Skeleton Says:

Shaq performed well in his backup rolls in Denver. Once starting here he showed that wasn’t just flashes but the real stuff. He may not equal or pass last years numbers but he will be in the same park.

  8. August 1976 Buc Says:

Shaq will get double digit sacks again this year. He may play better than last year overall and still not total what he did last year. Shaq is the real deal. 2 Things about Shaq, he was buried and hidden behind V Miller in Denver, and he is in a system that makes use of his talent. Todd Bowles defense is a perfect fit for Barret. He is going to be meeting at the QB with JPP and the White many times this year again. GO BUCS!!!

    Agreed!
    Except for the numbers
Based on his interview a few weeks back, he won’t be completely satisfied unless he improves on his numbers

Lets see… Suh gets one, Veah gets one, White and David get one each, JPP and Shaq each race for two each…

We might just see JW on the field!
    SMOTHER EM!

The crazy thing is that they were not expensive!!!! and most were basic 1-year bridge player deals with a second year option!!!!! The exciting part to me is that we ( by all looks) appear to be drafting in the bottom finally!!!!! This is what will separate average GM’s with very good GM’s!!!!

***those “1-year bridge players” didnt do anything for us!!!!!***

Can you smell the change Buc fans?????? Can you smell the change in the air sheep????? We fans are so glad to have the “Coaches” that promote and foster that change!!!!!!!!!! That hold this team and players to a very high standard!!!!!!!!!! Last year was about the “changing the culture” and they succeeded in changing the losing culture!!!!!!!!!!!! Now they are implementing a “winning” culture!!!!!!!!! It is all pretty amazing when you remember that they were “coaching the lovie out of them” last year and fixing all the mistakes and bad coaching from 2015!!!!!!!!!!!

***we smelled the change alright!!!…lol…we finished 5-11…***

***but my favorite was in 2018 while dirk and smitty were enroute to another 5win season!!!!!!***

813, wow, Realist smells like lighter fluid now…

  12. Brad Says:

I hope it shows week 1, because the Saints had their way with him last year.

  13. Jason Says:

If JPP is healthy all year, our d-line could be legendary.

  14. Dano Says:

This is great news coming from Gronkowski.

  15. JimmyJack Says:

Brad, I wouldn’t count on a ton of passrush against the Saints. They got like 4-5 AllPros. Hat tip to them but not a great matchup.

We might gotta win another way on defense. I’m looking for Devin White to be the key. He only played them once last year and it was bad. He’s gotta step up.

If White can take away a couple of them quick passes well be looking good………and it’ll aid the passrush….If he can make a big splash play it might just clinch us the win!

  16. JimmyJack Says:

    Thats gold 813….solid gold.

My favorite past was our high standards in 2018…….I close my eyes and all I see in 2018 is our handpicked leader on defense, Grimes, running away from tackles while sticking a arm out there as to give the appearance of effort.

  17. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

813bucboi calling out the Realist! It’s another Realist report! Nice job 813!

  20. Clean House Says:

Realist for you to say Gronk has no heart is a bit much.

  21. Caleb Lee Says:

Shaq earned a place in my living room with his outstanding season. Looking forward to rubbing his autographed helmet for luck when we need a big play! Tom Brady’s face as a “saint” candle ready to go for our offense. How can we lose now? 😀 lol
