“I Don’t Worry About Him. He Knows What He’s Doing”

Bucs rookie right tackle Tristan Wirfs

Manbeast Bucs rookie right tackle Tristan Wirfs, the No. 13 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, qualifies as one of the team’s handful of question marks.

It’s uncomfortable for Joe to type this, but first-round picks can be big disappointments, even can’t-miss, plug-and-play offensive linemen like Wirfs. It happens. It even happened to Bucco Bruce Arians in Arizona.

But Joe is very hopeful. There’s no evidence that Wirfs is working through a difficult learning curve.

“I don’t worry about him. He knows what he’s doing,” said the guy playing alongside him, starting right guard Alex Cappa.

“He’s really mature, and he’s smart and he’s obviously very physically talented,” Cappa said today. “So he’s going to have a much smoother transition than I did, for sure. He’s a guy that’s really ready to go, understands things well and is obviously a good player. He’s going to be good – you could see it early.”

Please be right, Cappa. Please. Joe doesn’t want to overdose on TUMS.

Kickoff in 12 days.

my biggest worry on the o line is cappa. perhaps its him coming from a small time school. i hope he proves me wrong.

this o line has the potential to become above average which would be great!
