This was a sh@tty half of football from our Bucs. Not impressed on either side of the ball. Donovan Smith looks like they put the 60’s singer Donovan at LT. Brady not real impressive, which I guess could be somewhat expected with no preseason games. Arians tried a FG outside of Succop’s range. Is Leftwich/Arians aware that the team has the best TE set in the entire NFL? I remember exactly one pass going to a TE, that was on the opening drive, to OJ, when he was lined up outside. Other than that, the TEs are doing nothing but blocking for Leftwich’s 2 yards up the middle calls.
Absolutely terrible playcalling by Leftwich, but the lack of using the TEs is all on Arians. Really really terrible planning and scripting. Evans is injured, Miller is a midget, and not even a look at Gronk… Just stupid offensive playcalling.
With that said, it’s a 10-point game and the Bucs get the ball first. So the sky isn’t falling. Also the Saints have one of the better defenses in the NFL so this is a really tough game. But Jesus Christ, open up the damn playbook.

Alvin…they watched Succup kick before the game. It wasn’t his fault at all. A FG that long has to be especially well blocked, as the kick is generally lower at such a distance. It was horrible blocking. Honestly. I have to wonder if some of you guys know anything about football.

I’ll be honest we are letting the Saints get away with playing scared. They won’t throw the ball down the field and the few times they do you can see why.
Both teams bailed out by garbage PI that resulted in Touchdowns.
The Bucs are getting beat because we are making more mistakes. What else is new?
Scotty Miller had his head up his ass before that garbage FG attempt. Vital makes a unforgivable error. Some idiot on ST doesnt know what to block and ends up doing nothing on the play. Bucs all in all played a bad half of football. Very unimpressive.
White looked good at the start……And then looks like a rookie. He straight out sucked on 2 plays and both resulted in TDs. I’m starting to question if this guy will turn out to be a total waste. We cant win with these rookie mistakes. Overall Devin White sucked that first half. Your only as good as your worst play. And he was terrible twice.
Donovan Smith is terrible. He’s ruined 2 drives. This guy played like a loser in the 1st half.
My only bright spot is the secondary. Bunting Dean and Davis all look solid.
I hope to see a better form in the 3rd quarter. We look like a sucky football team right now. Saints beating us without having to even throw the ball. You are a disappointment so far Bucs.

JimmyJack – Both PI’s were legit, and the Bucs did throw deep twice on the opening drive and got a PI and a long play to Godwin.
The issue is those first plays are scripted – and once the Bucs got off the script, we got Leftwich going ultra conservative, which he always does if Arians isn’t yelling at him to open things up.
The defense was what you’d expect, they’re playing in NO in their toughest game of the year.
It’s frustrating since we’re literally just Scotty Miller leaning forward for a 1st down away from having a completely different game. The Bucs can not be so stupid in the 2nd half as to not use their TEs. Arians needs to chew Leftwich out or take over the playcalling. This is the same garbage we saw last year early on until Arians called out Leftwich publicly..

BUT, with that said, if Fournette is productive when he’s in, then I’m fine with that too. I really have no issues with who is playing so long as they’re getting yards. Fournette did look really good on that pass catch earlier, then he looked like he was running in mud on the next play, which was his issue in Jacksonville. But if he can is our pass catching guy, sounds good to me.

I’ve said it for years, the team and coach you play for determines your career as a QB. Much more so than any other position.
It’s the difference in being remembered as a decent QB and a HOF QB.

The Saints couldn’t move the ball down the field on us all day. They done nothing special on us today.
We lose because we make to many mistakes. Just like always. And one of the biggest ones was on Brady. 6 the other way. He played like crap today and made a bad mistake. Brady doesn’t impress me at all. Neither does Evan’s, RoJo, OJ, Donovan, Miller, Godwin, Devin, Dean or our entire Special Teams.

All in all, I’m sourgrapes on this game, but the reality is that the Saints are one of the strongest teams in the NFL. Their offense is consistently top 10, and their defense has grown very strong. Combine that with a limited offseason and Tampa Bay bringing in a new QB (regardless of who that QB is), and the result was quite predictable.

Alright, enough complaining about this game.
Next week, to me, is when the season starts. If the Bucs don’t win, then the season is over, but it’s not over this week, this is what should have been expected by anyone with common sense.
Remember in 2002 when we played the Eagles in Philly and they easily won… it was what changed the entire season and kicked the team into high gear. I don’t think it’s too early to see this team kick into high gear (not that they’re in league with the 2002 team – but very very few area).
