Bruce Arians Is Warning Receivers

September 22nd, 2020

I’m warning you!

Be careful, Bucs receivers. Bucco Bruce Arians and park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady aren’t fooling around.

Arians coldly and directly told the local pen and mic club yesterday that if Bucs receivers keep putting the ball on the ground, the only targets they will get are from the IRS.

Arians was asked what he tells receivers when they drop passes from Brady. Arians didn’t blink.

“Don’t drop the damn ball or you won’t get another one,” Arians said. “It’s easy. He [isn’t] going to throw it to you.”

And “he” isn’t Blaine Gabbert, but Brady.

Joe could tell the subject of drops irked Arians. The quickest way for a receiver to get cussed out by Arians in practice is to drop a pass. Joe’s seen it, and more importantly, heard it. Lewd, crude and loud.

Arians’ stats say the Bucs had seven drops on Sunday — too many for Arians to stomach.

“Oh gosh – we dropped, probably, about 125 yards worth,” Arians said. “About seven drops [and] two touchdowns. Maybe three touchdowns, really. You put the ball right there and we don’t catch it – I don’t think I’ve ever seen Scotty [Miller] drop that ball. I know LeSean [McCoy] is going to catch it nine times out of ten. The wind did get Cyril [Grayson] a little bit – that ball moved a little bit – it hit him in the head.

“But, the guy’s got great hands and that’s an easy touchdown. That should have been three touchdowns. Tom [Brady] should have had a 400-yard day if we just catch it.”

To be honest, once the Bucs start playing tougher opponents, they cannot afford to give away plays like that, not even half as much.

With good teams, especially good teams on the road, a team pretty much has to play mistake-free.

Added Arians on the drops, “They’re never expected and they’re never accepted.”

They need to rectify this QUICKLY! That Shady drop was bad and uncharacteristic!

  2. AKicknTheBucNuts Says:

Finally, a coach with the correct answer.

Too many ex-Buc coaches would say: “We’re working hard to get better at that”

At this level, there is no more “working” to catch the ball.

You’re a pro at this point.

Catch the ball or you don’t get it thrown to you.

  3. Alanbucsfan Says:

If the Bucs execute on offense- no dropped passes, no underthrown passes, no stupid penalties, no turnovers – then they’ll score 30 points/ game.
    Just clean up the slop.

  4. Buc N A Says:

Love me some accountability! Should be something in EVERY receivers deal for every dropped ball a little bit of green is dropped from the game check. I know that would never happen but I bet it would drastically reduce drops.

  5. Roy T. Buford Says:

Great line!: “Arians coldly and directly told the local pen and mic club yesterday that if Bucs receivers keep putting the ball on the ground, the only targets they will get are from the IRS.”

Hate this part (old, redundant, needlessly negative, distracting): “…park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady aren’t fooling around.”

The Staint’s D is pretty darn good, and Panther’s is not too bad. They were good early tests to lay out work to do. Yes–don’t put the ball on the ground.

I was happy last night to see the Saints ripping the Raiders to shreds early on, as it made me feel like the Bucs are not so bad, and in particular, the Saints O was all over the Raiders, moving the ball with ease. Then the Raiders woke up. Clearly the Bucs have work to do on both sides of the ball if they want to contend. The next three weeks will tell us a lot (DEN, LAC, CHI).

  6. ModHairKen Says:

Calm don, everyone, including Coach Arians. These are the kinds of things that happen when the preseason is aborted. 1-1 and tied for 1st after two weeks. They’ve found the RB they’ve been seeking since Alstott and Dunn. Brady’s numbers don’t show how much has been done because of the drops, and the defense is getting greater productivity out of the middle LB and the Safeties.

And Suh is off to his best year ever.

    The sky is not falling.

  7. Buczilla Says:

I just about lost my voice from yelling after McCoy dropped that touchdown pass. I hope the rust fades soon.

  8. Ndog Says:

The biggest take away from last night is that the landscape is changing quickly in the NFC South when it comes to QBs. Below is the current QB rankings for our division in terms of the actual quality of the player:

    1. Winston
    2. Ryan
    3. Bridgewater
    4. Brady
    5. Brees

And it’s not even close as Brees’s arm looks DONE and Brady cannot deal with pressure at all.

  9. Roy T. Buford Says:

NDog….LMAO. You know darn well your list is 100% inverted…and so were you at birth, apparently.

So does Jameis pay you per line, or per ridiculous lie?

  10. DoooshLaRue Says:

What a delusional idiot you are ndog.

Have you ever been Baker Acted?

  11. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Hmmm…so how exactly are they being held accountable? The only accountability they will see is if one of them gets cut.

  12. ClodHopper Says:

Could be wrong but I noticed after his drop Scotty either didn’t get another pass or at the least not many more After that drop Watson and Greyson started getting more passes

  13. Allbuccedup Says:

    Wheres Tyler Johnson?

  14. Allbuccedup Says:

Face it the Bucs have no third receiver. Time to release one and sign who ever is available.

  15. Bradinator Says:

Message needs to be sent. Grayson cannot catch, and he’s a WR. There must be a guy out there that can. Easy call.

  16. Jmarkbuc Says:

They keep throwing it to Howard.

  17. Big_Buc$ Says:

Man nobody cares what BA says. I don’t trust anything that comes out his mouth. He is just a guy loves to hear himself talk. This is the same guy that said RoJo is a number 1 back but goes and sign Leonard Fournette not saying that not a bad move but he talked all training camp about Rojo being the number 1 back. So I don’t really take anything he says seriously. Its football receivers will drop passes. So he what about when its a bad pass? So IMO he needs to hold everyone across the board accountable from the players to the coaches including him. 2020 No Excuses.

  18. Bucsfan951 Says:

    The PUPPY isn’t totally incorrect.

Let’s check the numbers. Jw completed passes to a saints player when he was a buccaneer: 10

Taysom hill completions to a saints player in his career: 7

See, the third string, err, JW, has more completions to a saints player than the actual saints second string qb.

    You’re right again, PUPPY!

From here on out, I will be using numbers like I did above to prove the PUPPY correct.

  19. Bucsfan951 Says:

Let’s take a look at last years numbers to prove why NPUPPY is correct in his analysis.

    1. 380/626 60.7% 5109 yards 33/30 rate 84.3

    2. 408/616 66.2% 4466 yards 26/14 rate 92.1

    3. 133/196 67.9% 1384 yards 9/2 rate: 99.1

    4. 373/613 4057 yards 24/8 rate 88.0

    5. 281/378 2979 yards 27/4 rate 116.3

As you can see, JW clearly has more yards than anyone else. THIS is what truly matters! Can you move the ball? If you ain’t moving the ball, you ain’t winning! It’s as simple as that!

People need to open their eyes to the facts NPUPPY and myself are laying out for you.

    BINGO!!!!!!

BL will have the offense scoring 30+ a game if the players focus and execute….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  21. mark2001 Says:

Winston again? Who gives a flying fish? He is gone…

And yes…I could see him holding the clipboard on the sideline, during the SB this year…maybe.

  22. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Arians said the right things. They will practice catching more this week I hope.

  23. Allbuccedup Says:

By the time you make it to the NFL as a wide receiver and can’t catch why are still on the team?

  24. mark2001 Says:

Who was on the bench during GB’s last SB victory behind the future HOF QB Aaron Rodgers? Oh yeah…Matt Flynn, Second string. And next, Graham Harrell. Third String. So would that make Jameis the next Graham Harrell? Graham did end up being a good coach.

  25. Allbuccedup Says:

💡 trade Brate, Watson and Grayson to Pats for Eldelman. HAHAHA.

  26. Paul Says:

Hate this part (old, redundant, needlessly negative, distracting): “…park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady aren’t fooling around.”

  27. Bird Says:

Ndog cant stop thinking about those nuts

  28. dmatt Says:

Does anyone know the status of Tyler Johnson? Please share

  29. Jmarkbuc Says:

    dmatt

    I think he’s on IR

  30. dmatt Says:

    Thanks Jmarkbuc!

  31. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

From what I understand, the humidity was so bad that the ball was wet almost as soon as they dried it.

Not making excuses, but that could be a small part of it.

Some of those there is no reason not to catch.

  32. Bellingham Bucs Fan Says:

Stats are for losers. Exhibit A: Jameis Winston.

  33. Bucsfanman Says:

That post by Ndog might be the funniest thing anyone will read all year.
Who had any idea that Ndog was a stand-up comic?! Dude, trademark it before someone else does!

Hey WRs, catch the darn ball! OK?! It’s your FRIEND!

  34. Hoops Says:

Brate has great hands. It’s a shame BA n Lefty aren’t using him.

  35. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Allbuc…. Tyler Johnson has been a healthy scratch for both games!! He can’t even get on the field apparently!! … He had no speed in college and had a real hard time getting separation… He was able to get away with that in college but these DBs will be just as strong and agile as him on every level!!

  36. dmatt Says:

Sorryjackchuckiesback, r you implying that Tyler J is a bust already?

  37. Bucsfanman Says:

Tyler Johnson was injured through much of camp. The Bucs saw enough of him to retain him though.

    The best ability is avail-ability!

  38. SufferingSince76 Says:

It’s a pretty good feat when you can be the number one QB in the NFC South without ever playing a down after losing your starting gig and getting picked up for 30 times less than you thought you were worth.

  39. Ed Says:

Did washed up coach tell Brady if throw another interception, he would be throwing for the IRS. What a joke.

  40. Chris K Says:

Npuppy, your rankings 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂..You straight dumb bro. It’s officially time. You need to kick rocks!
