Dotson To Earn Up To $3 Million In Denver

August 12th, 2020

Demar Dotson

After 12 years in Tampa, and 12 freakin’ years of no playoffs, right tackle Demar Dotson got the call from Broncos GM John Elway.

The deal is official, per Mike Klis of 9News in Denver, and it’s worth up to $3 million with incentives for this season.

Joe wishes Dotson well. Hopefully, he’ll get worked over by Jason Pierre-Paul when the Bucs head to Denver in Week 3.

Demar Dotson was a good Buc and a very nice person…..I wish him the very best….except against us.

  2. Bucfan81 Says:

Damn love Dot he has always been a home town favorite. He is nothing more than a backup though at this point in his career. Wish him luck though.

  3. Marine Buc Says:

Good for Demar. Another $3 million in the bank. Good luck big guy…

I guess Denver won’t be running the ball much this season. Lol.

  4. zzbuc Says:

Love the guy….The very Best for a great person great teammate ….The very best big man!!!

  5. SOEbuc Says:

Good for him. He was a good Bucs oline for whatever that means before his leave. And $3 million with incentives. I thought he would retire not much get that much.

  6. All lives matter Says:

The only reason Dotson gets the gig is because Broncos starting right tackle Ja’Wuan James opts out of season. And even so there’s no guarantee Dot will be the starter with up and comer Dalton Risner to get his shot first. But goodluck to Dotson. 3 million is not chump change to be an alternate.

  7. SOEbuc Says:

Another player picked up by a team on our 2020 schedule.

    Good guy.

  13. SlyPirate541 Says:

JPP vs Dot? In Week 3 before the OL has any chemistry and JPP is still fresh?

    Yikes.

  14. Buc1987 Says:

    3 million dollar turnstile.

  15. DoooshLaRue Says:

The super nice penalty machine on 3rd and short!

  16. DBS Says:

In deed they can count on this nice guy to kill some drives . That should be to the Bucs advantage when they play them. They know when and how he will do it.

  17. mark2001 Says:

Compare that to Jameis’s salary…and the might tell you the comparative current value of both guys.

  18. DoooshLaRue Says:

    ^^^^^^

Now that is a ndog dagger to the heart right there!

Certainly accept your point…money talks and the rest…

But for NDOG and the boys there is light at the end of the tunnel.

ESPN’s depth chart of the Saints has JW 2nd and Hill 3rd.

Another fan chart had that reversed…but the plot thickens when you go to the Saints site…they have Brees…Hill..and a blank space for 3rd string. Perhaps it’s an old depth chart that staff have been too lazy to update.

Bottom line we don’t really know where Payton has JW slotted in his mind. Payton did pretty well spotting Hill for Brees in the right spots…perhaps he might be thinking of using Hill to spot whomever is the starting QB…Brees or if Brees is hurt…JW. Perhaps Payton is not looking at these guys in the stereotypical first second and third string…well except for Brees of course.

Sad that during Demar’s long tenure in Tampa, he never tasted the playoffs. I sincerely hope he gets to go to the Prom his Senior year!

  21. Rod Munch Says:

Kind of hoped the Bucs would bring him back at the vet min — he could be a mentor or if the kid turns out not to be ready he could maybe step in for a short period of time.

  22. Wesley Says:

Good guy. I can’t believe he’s playing another season though.

  23. Mike Johnson Says:

Dodson is living proof nice guys do not finish last. I wish him nothing but the very best.

  24. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

    Bless his heart!… a warrior!
But I hope he doesn’t regret another year of wear and tear..

  25. Bojim Says:

Glad you got a gig Dot.

  26. Clw JB Says:

Good for him, but you know we are going to exploit him week 3 – he can’t reach block or seal the backside anymore – decent in his pass sets still, but grabs on when he gets a kick-step behind or sets too far inside – he is going to get roasted by Shaq and JPP

  27. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Congrats Dot!!!
    Wish you well bredren.

  29. adam from new york Says:

Dot might have gotten lucky that we’re in a covid type season…

    more players needed everywhere…

he fits the bill for “one more season” under the current conditions

  30. adam from new york Says:

you can literally carry a vet lineman like Dot on the practice squad this year…if you had to

  31. adam from new york Says:

Dot is so old…in his presser he said he was super happy to be protecting john elway

    🙂
