“I Don’t Care What Year You Are”

Bucs rookie Ke’Shawn Vaughn

Friday Fumbles!

The Bucs kick off at New Orelans in 16 days and no, don’t expect the Bucs’ drafted running backs to contribute much to the offense.

Today was the first game-action, intrasquad scrimmage of the wacky offseason, and lowlights featured third-round rookie RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn coughing up the rock, as well as seventh-round pick Raymond Calais.

Joe asked Bucco Bruce Arians after practice whether he tries not to go overboard on a rookie fumbler who’s had little work, or does he lean on them hard.

The head coach had some bristle in his reply.

“Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah, you be real hard on them,” Arians said. “I don’t care what year you are. You’re not fumbling the damn ball and be a running back here.”

Arians went on to praise Ronald Jones for his hard running on the mushy turf at the Den of Depression, though he got injured, and he said LeSean McCoy played well, too.

Joe hopes the rookies can keep grinding away and grow from today’s events. Plenty of time still to impress coaches.

Were they fumblers in college? LVD can make the best of them fumble, the question is who caused the fumbles.

Well, we’ve had a QB that threw interceptions constantly. Now we have the GOAT and that interception maching, Jay Miss, is now trying to hold down a 3rd string job.

They will be ok. Just rookie jitters I think.
