“I Am Glad We’re Not Playing A Game Sunday”

August 6th, 2020

“Good to see you. What’s your name?”

While park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Bucs quarterback Tom Brady spoke about how 2020 is not the ideal situation for football, he’s not pressing the panic button.

Just the opposite. Either Brady is so schooled in the Belicheat Way of holding a poker face in press conferences (quite possible) or he doesn’t sense the need to freak out just yet.

We all know the offseason was wrecked by The Sickness. And in the weirdest training camp anyone can remember, the Bucs will have spent the first two weeks in conditioning more than practicing.

Everything is new to Brady. And while the situation isn’t perfect for a new quarterback on a new team, Brady said there’s no reason to sweat.

“You learn your way to work; learn guys’ names,” Brady said of his transition from New England to Tampa Bay. “I didn’t even know where the quarterback room was. Your brain is trying to figure out a lot of different things.

“I am glad we’re not playing a game Sunday. So we have time to prepare.”

Is that just coming from the steely cool demeanor of a six-time Super Bowl champion or a guy to fear when he strolls up to the poker table at The Mirage?

    Have no fear….Brady is here!!…😳

Brady is just a rare individual who gets it. He’s in the moment, only worries about things he can control, not things he can’t. He is the personification of FOCUSED!

It’s truly our good fortune to be able to see a GOAT close out his career here in Tampa. If we make the Super Bowl being a Buc’s fan will never be the same.

All the TV appearances…all the great stories…Brady and Gronk…ME and CG and D Whites infectious smile leading the D…we will be the new America’s Team!!!

    Nothing Ndog?

Somebody was saying something on an earlier thread about ‘confidence’ being the difference in the QB change we had.
I had to reflect on that.
I was an instructor in Hand to Hand for years! Even though I am in my 50s I Honestly don’t believe anyone can best me. Wife and kid don’t believe it could happen either.
I think that carries into the Entire Team when they know Brady is leading the fight.
Not a spot on analogy I know, but it fits in a way

    BOTH!

I’d love to play some poker with Tom but can’t afford the table he’d be sitting at

I’m still in one piece because I assume that anyone who want’s to fight me has at least similar training.
Even though I’ve seen every Bruce Lee and Ip Mann movie I still bow out if at all possible!

  9. SB Says:

    Ain’t that right gp!!!
We have live poker here in Montana and I leave the table when the owner of the Bar pulls up a seat. The guy is my friend but let’s get real, he is playing with house money.
I have a feeling TB would be playing with house money All the time too

  10. SB Says:

I Always bow out gp. That is kind of the point. I lost the need to prove I am better a long time ago. I think TB has renewed his need tho. Dudes can feel his confidence.
    Just my opinion

  11. Buddy Says:

Was that a commercial for TB12 sports that I watched today? Kinda felt like it.

As I’ve been saying through most of these threads.

    Confidence/experience + Talent = Perfect Storm!

Asterisk or no. This team is set up to kick some serious a$$

  13. Craig Says:

Still think it will be Brady to Gronk for a couple of games. Brady does need time to get sorted, to know where his receivers will be, and so they will know how to react when it hits the fan.

They will be fine, the rest of the league is also all messed up.

  14. SB Says:

I have seen your ‘Perfect Storm’ reference a few times.
I would totally occur under “normal” circumstances. If we even know what that is anymore

  15. SB Says:

    Dam Auto correct.
    Concur not occur

  16. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

SB – spot on analogy. I made that “confidence” comment earlier and am glad it caused reflection as I do believe it is a major factor, if not the biggest factor, in how we will approach each snap. Having a mentality that we can not, and will not, be beaten changes everything.

And by the way – anytime you want to challenge your hand to hand skills – call Ndog. lol

  17. SB Says:

    LOL 74!
