#BlameBrady

August 26th, 2020

Blame in a good way.

Remember the hashtag #BlameJameis? It became popular because YouKnowWho became such a punching bag for the haters.

It seemed everything that was wrong with the world was somehow Jameis’ fault. The cost of healthcare, the price of pork belly options, lack of a train system in the Tampa Bay region or the China Plague, it all was somehow in someway Jameis’ fault.

#BlameJameis.

Might we someday be starting a #BlameBrady hashtag? At least in one respect,Bucco Bruce Arians did just that with his future Hall of Fame quarterback when discussing the lack of picks by his first-team defense.

But all of this is in a good way, Arians pointed out.

The reason why Bucs corners aren’t coming away with many picks is that park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring Brady is so damn hard to pick off.

In other words, Arians said he has no concerns over the lack of picks by his corners thus far in training camp.

“No, because they’re going against a different quarterback (Tom Brady) most of the time and he’s putting balls in places that you can’t intercept,” Arians said. ” You really can’t cover much better than they’re doing. I’m happy with where they’re at. [Parnell] Motley has done a good job catching balls that have been thrown to him. He’s making most of his balls down the field or overthrown balls. I’m not concerned at all with where our corners are.”

Yesterday was a good example of what Arians spoke of. Twice in goal line offense Brady would have had a coverage sack because the secondary was covering Bucs receivers like a blanket. Of course, only Joe Judge is dumb/insane enough to want his quarterback hit in training camp.

And there are also examples from yesterday’s practice on the Bucs’ Instagram stories account of Brady’s passes just missing defenders’ fingers that went for touchdowns.

(Instagram stories only last for 24 hours so better click while you can.)

If anything, Brady is making the corners better.

Is that something to #BlameBrady with? If so, that’s a good thing.

““No, because they’re going against a different quarterback….”

I’ll stop right there before I really invoke the wrath of Clean House, Realist!!!!!! and et al.

  2. Bucsfanman Says:

Well, if not for #BlameJameis, we wouldn’t have #BlameBrady now would we?!
I’d happily trade one for the other, all day long!

  3. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Blame Jameis wasn’t just for haters Joe….it was for the entire Bucs organization!!!

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Bowles stated that Brady know how to throw a great incompletion…..he put the ball where only the receiver can catch it…..

  5. Clean House Says:

Tom Brady is Tom Brady, hard to argue with that…
BS wants to keep running his mouth, but football karma has a funny way of catching up with such comments, either in the form of another 7-9 campaign with the Goat or perhaps a Blaine Gabbert campaign due to injury. Who knows what fate has in store- it’s a wild league, not inconceivable that Jameis is somehow thrust into a backup role for the Saints on a playoff run, culminating with a victory in Tampa Stadium. You never know. Backups have won it before.

  6. SufferingSince76 Says:

Yeah. You never know if Clean House will actually say and feel something positive about the football team known as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even when he tries to say something positive it comes off as cheap and insincere. We know you want the Bucs to lose. Regardless of what you say you are a Winston fan only and no one is really sure why you are still here other than for trolling reasons.

Why do peeps like Sam get offended when peeps like Joe and I call it the Chinese virus or plague?

    It’s where it came from.

I absolutely do not hate Jameis Winston nor blame him for all that went wrong here. I still contend that with an excellent defense and better running game he is another Favre, and that’s not necessarily a great thing. I rooted for him to succeed for five seasons and he often frustrated the hell out of me. But we’re comparing a undisciplined QB with perhaps the greatest and most disciplined QB of all time. He is a generational talent above the shoulders. Not since Montana has someone accomplished nearly as much with less. God forbid something would happen to Brady, his ethic, tempo, attention to detail, and enthusiasm are making this team better even if he didn’t play. Matt Cassell led the Pats to a 11-5 record the year Brady missed almost the whole season. Belichek definitely gets the credit but perhaps Brady was a major reason as well.

It’s like golf. You look for your target spot by also considering the repercussions if you are off the mark. Basically, make sure you’re safe even if you miss.

Wake up people! The virus was created in a bioweapons lab of US origin and released in Wuhan China back in late 2019 during the World Military Games. The University of North Carolina was instrumental in this development of the virus. The US barely won any medals, no gold, and was near the bottom of the list. The American people need to dig deeper as to the real designer of the worldwide pandemic. It has Made in USA written all over it.

  21. Bucsfanman Says:

Who cares where the virus is from anyway?! I’d say it’s made itself quite at home here.
    Ahem…178,000 and counting!

  22. Clean House Says:

I’ve just finished watching the series All or Nothing on NFL Game Pass in which they followed Arians’ Cardinals for a whole season. I’m warming to him and beginning to understand him and his complete impatience with Winston. I saw how frustrating it was for him when Palmer made even way less mindless mistakes than Winston but equally costly with clear mental lapses.

I also watched the whole 2017 Hard Knocks and Winston doesn’t seem to have the capacity to stop being boneheaded with his decisions.

I also watched some Patriots documentary footage.

    These thoughts arise for me.

#1. We were sold this idea that Winston had an extremely hi football IQ during the lead up to the draft. Every analyst and coach familiar with him as a prospect raves about his off the charts intelligence. All of them. So either everyone was wrong, or there is another component to Winston’s mind that fails to work properly under pressure, I don’t know if it’s stress, or OCD, or just dumb, but he clearly had a part of his game that was showing itself as a failure.

#2. It seems BA has a certain way of leading his team in which he has to draw the line or he loses everyone by lowering the standard. I can appreciate
this and understand him not being able to abide Winston’s continued
    Boneheaded plays.

#3. BA’s a pretty good coach who the guys seem to want to rally behind. He’s not a Bill Belichick by any stretch, and he seems to give the players a lot of room to either figure out how to win or how to fail on their own.

I want to root for BA but where I am lost is when he casts blame and makes backhanded remarks and little public digs in the name of team psychology. Maybe Winston really rubbed him the wrong way somehow personally? Maybe he took the poor part of Winston’s performance personally? I don’t know.
But if you are going to write a public book about whispering to qb’s, then some of us will hold you to that. I don’t buy what you sold I’m terms of being a qb developer/guru. It seems you just want a certain an to work with and that is just fine, but don’t portray yourself as this great teacher, which implies patience and hands on sorting through issues and problems.

I am excited to see what BA can do w a guy like Brady. I do want to root for BA, and having watched that show, Its more personalized and easier to understand the guy for me.

I don’t like the way he deals with players once he’s down on them. He says it’s not personal but I think it is. It’s classless. Hard to get behind someone who lies and throws people under the bus for me.

Holy Crap ! Did clean really write that ?

Finally you get close to a truth! It was actually transferred to China by the Obama administration after US law made it illegal to create chimera (splicing two different viruses together) viruses! Then, the Obama State Department also sent millions of dollars to finance the Wuhan lab which was working with the chimera virus.

Then, the American “doctor” who ran the Wuhan lab became a supervisor at twitter, censoring people who spoke about the virus!

Don’t forget that they have admitted to inflating the numbers. The tests show positive for anyone who has had the regular coronavirus or the flu in the last several years. They include anyone who has died for any reason (including gunshot and motorcycle accident) as long as they test positive for coronavirus.

    Welcome home, Brother.

I sympathize with Jameis, because I have the same problem. You can have a high IQ, and still lose your spit in the heat of the moment. I’ve tried training in wrestling, and it doesn’t matter how much I understand leverage and holds–once the match starts, my mind goes blank. I don’t even hear my own coach yelling instructions to me.

I see this happen to Winston. I think that’s why he doesn’t do well reading defenses or checking down from a covered receiver. He just doesn’t perform well under pressure.

  33. Oneilbucs Says:

clean house I think you are saying that because you want to enjoy the season . And that’s cool but one thing you have to understand is he’s not the future of this team . This is a one year window the second year is not garoteain . To me this was still a bad idea but we are stuck with this short term situation so I’m going to just set back in watch and see how this thing play out .
