Arians: It’ll Get Real On Friday

August 25th, 2020

Tom Brady was dropped at practice yesterday.

For real.

By an edge rusher.

Joe was told it was unintentional, but still, that’s doesn’t excuse rookie outside linebacker Cam Gill, an undrafted rookie, for potential crimes against Bucs fans when it appeared he caught Brady’s thigh and the legendary quarterback fell to the grass.

It happens, but dangerous moments like that are expected on Friday. Per Bucco Bruce Arians, that’s when the Bucs will head across the street to the Den of Depression for a scrimmage.

Last week, Arians told CBS Sports Radio that hitting your own teammates is the worst thing in football, sometimes leading to guys holding grudges and an erosion of team chemistry. Yesterday, Joe asked Arians if he was reconsidering what his scrimmages would look like.

“No, I think we’ve got to block and tackle. Defensive linemen have to play low blocks, linebackers have to play cut blocks by the [running] backs,” Arians said. “It’s a catch-22. You have to do some of it – you don’t do a lot of it, [just] enough of it. Friday, hopefully the storms don’t take us away from the stadium, so we can get in there and get some good work and we’ll go from there.”

Joe understands the team must practice real football to be ready for real football. They would have done just that this summer against the Titans and Jaguars if not for The Sickness cancelling joint practices, in addition to preseason games.

Joe just hopes Arians finds just the right balance. No, Joe isn’t worried about grudges, just injuries.

Foir someone that professes to know everything it sure seems like you know nothing. It was a week ago, do you not remember or too lazy to go back and check?

If Brady goes down before the season begins (please no), we’ll be the front runners for that Fabio looking dude from Clemson. Gabbert is certified atrocious.
