“You Are Way Underestimating Tom Brady”

May 21st, 2020

Sees monster season for Brady.

How does 40 touchdown passes in 2020 grab ya’?

That’s what Skip Bayless of “The Undisputed” believes park-violating, home-invading Bucs quarterback Tom Brady will throw for this year.

And why is that? Bayless is a big believer in Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians. In fact, Bayless said Arians is the sharpest offensive mind in the NFL and will find a way to craft an offense around Brady to make him look like a 28-year old quarterback.

Joe’s research shows nine quarterbacks have thrown for 40 or more touchdowns in a season. It’s happened 13 times. Only Dan Marino with the 1986 Dolphins (8-8) and Drew Brees with the 2012 Saints (7-9) didn’t make the playoffs when tossing for 40 or more.

So if Brady pulls off what Bayless predicts, it’s a damn good bet the Bucs are in the playoffs.

Finally.

You can see and hear Bayless’ take in the FS1 video below.

I literally pray every day for an end to this pandemic, and for a normal football season. (Training camp, and regular season, and even preseason games)

    Just 40 TDs.

    I was hoping for 41.

i mean one step at a time here but the bucs need to make a run in the playoffs. even if we had jameis anything other than playoffs would be a failure. i mean are we saying that we were going to be ok with mediocrity from jameis? this team is built to win and they were with or without jameis. we have the greatest QB in history and a much more competent one than winston. i think we are setting the bar too low. playoffs would have been the bar with jameis, division titles and making a run through divisional and super bowl weekend need to be the aspirations. the bucs went from a young team to a veteran team.

Johnny Manziel loving Jameis messiah touting Joe Bucs Fan doesn’t think that park-violating, home-invading Bucs quarterback has it left in him.

    JW had 40 last year!!!!!!

    Winston had 40 baby!!!

Most he had was 33 and that came last season.

  9. Joe Says:

    JW had 40 last year!!!!!!

Most Jameis has thrown for was 33 and that was last year.

    I think they are counting the 7 pick sixes. 33 + 7 = 40

  11. Tnoles Says:

You Joe’s really need to give the moniker for Brady, how about the real America’s QB? Lol!

  12. Marine Buc Says:

Normally I can’t stand Skip Bayless.

Some of you clowns make me laugh. It’s not throwing TDs that matter most. It’s throwing TDs while not throwing 30 plus interceptions. Throwing TDs is great but not if your constantly turning the ball over and losing ballgames.

  13. Rod Munch Says:

I have Brady for 4400 yards, 39 TDs, 14 INTs.

I think I had Winston penciled in for around 4800 yards, 38 TDs and 16 INTs.

The only real concerning thing is that every QB in their first year in Arians system has abnormally high INTs. Manning had 28 I think, Palmer had 24 I believe, and there’s some other examples I can’t remember off the top of my head. After year 1, they generally settle down and the teams take off.

Brady’s career high in INTs is 14 – so I only have him tying his high – but I do wonder if he has some clunkers early on and ends up higher than 14 INTs. In particular if you have OJ doing around the world dribbles in the air and the Angry Ginger knocking down the scrub 3rd down back on screen plays.

To be clear I’m not down at all on Brady, but I don’t think from a stat and even regular season record standpoint he’s going to be any better than Winston would have been (had the team 11-5 with Winston). But what I hope is that Brady makes a difference once we get to the playoffs.

  16. Tye Says:

If the last qb, as bad as he was, threw for 5000 yards and 33 tds, then surely it is no stretch of the imagination for Brady to exceed that with FAR less ints…

    WINNING!

  17. Matt Says:

I think we’ll be more balanced this year now that we have a RT who can run block and I wouldn’t be surprised if were a top 10 rushing attack. The more rushing yards we have the more wins we will have.

  18. stpetebucsfan Says:

Jeebus Rod you’re better than that!!

I always read and generally respect your posts even when you are insulting me personally. I’m flattered.

But you’ve totally lost your way over JW. He’s been in the league for FIVE years!
Comparing a journeyman, 3rd string QB to an all time great is just sacrilegious!

You love JW perhaps you can explain. Why did the Saints extend Taysom Hill to include 2021 for 21 million…JW gets a little over one million.

So much for Sean’s JW love. JW is nothing more than an insurance policy in case both Brees and Hill go down.

OH and please…JW would never have outplayed and produced results as good as Brady. Brady is HOF…Manning HOF….JW 3rd string and close to be out of the league.

  19. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

Haha- they were counting the 7 pick sixes! Awesome catch!

  20. Knuckle Sandwich Delivery Service Says:

Jameis is trade bait for the Saints, when he’s outlived his use. They’ll get a 3rd or 4th from a desperate team after a few injuries.

Then he’ll lead that team to the Super Bowl and win multiple rings, they said.

  21. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Knuckle

That’s certainly some reasonable speculation. If a team…besides the Bucs…loses a starter and fear their backup then JW could perhaps fetch a mid round draft pick…as long as it’s not the Bucs! I’ve seen enough.

  22. 541BucsFan Says:

What’s crazy is 40 TDs is only 2.5/game. I would have guessed it was more frequent. I’d get on board with 40.

  23. Rod Munch Says:

stpetebucsfan – You mean the 25 year old QB that just threw 33 TDs and lead the league in passing and has set every offensive team record for passing (except for INTs) and points? Also if you bothered to actually look up Arians history with QBs, you’d see what I said is 100% accurate. I was for the Brady signing, but the fake news dopes pretending Winston was responsible for having the worst defense and kicking game in the NFL for the last 5 seasons, they’re just morons.

  24. Marine Buc Says:

    @ Rod

I guess all the other teams who didn’t want to touch Winston with a ten foot pole were also all wrong…

He signed a $1 million dollar deal and was dam lucky to get that…

  25. Buczilla Says:

If we can get 33 with an average, turnover prone qb, we can sure as hell get 40 out of old man Brady. 60 td’s would not shock me either. Thnx for the video.
