“I Think Tampa Bay Can Win That Game”

May 5th, 2020

Bucs chatter.

Joe’s going to offer up morning juice to aid your cup of coffee in kick starting your day.

Former Jets and Bills coach Rex Ryan knows Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski all too well.

His teams faced the Patriots 17 times over eight seasons (including a win over the Belicheats in the playoffs). And while Ryan doesn’t think Brady and Gronk are the players they once were, Ryan believes the Bucs’ supporting cast will help hide from warts from old age.

In fact, Ryan believes John Lynch, the former Bucs great and current shot-caller of the 49ers, better be watching out for his old team as Ryan stated recently on the notorious “First Take.”

“He’s not the same guy,” Ryan said of Gronk. “And neither is Tom Brady. But together with the [additional] weapons you’ve talked about, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, [Cam] Brate, [O.J.] Howard, all of those guys, yes, I see it. Is it going to be an impact on the game with Brady and Gronk? Heck yes it is!

“Hey, I’m going to tell you a matchup. This team right here [the Bucs] matches up with the Niners. I love the Niners, but watch out. If these two play each other in the playoffs, I think Tampa Bay can win that game.”

Joe hopes people aren’t getting too carried away in early May (or when this video was recorded in late-April).

This sounds very cool, but Joe would rather make the playoffs first and worry about the 49ers once the playoffs are clinched.

You can see the full conversation in the BSPN video below.

Who says the 49rs will make the playoffs?

  2. Pewter Power Says:

If not for Winston constantly throwing three ball up for grabs we would have beat them week one last year. That defense had one good year last year but but the year before had zero interceptions. Had a good year but doesn’t mean they automatically repeat

  3. Buc4evr Says:

Preseason hype is fun, but it means nothing. It’s even more dangerous with a new QB that has not practiced with the offense yet and may not get enough time to learn the system due to the Rona.

  4. ModHairKen Says:

The hype is getting a little ridiculous. Let’s start by winning the opening game. Next, how about having a winning record in the first half of the season? Can they avoid three losses in a row? Fourth, can they make the playoffs?

All this crap about playing in the Super Bowl in Tampa is just porn.

  5. Pryda...Sec147 Says:

We out played them last year in all categories except for turnovers -_- I ain’t worried bout those choke artists

  6. BrianBucs Says:

Bucs played well enough week one last season to beat the 49ers.
However, SOMEBODY kept throwing the ball to the other team

  7. SC Bucs Fan Says:

TBBF care to wager they don’t?

  8. EA Says:

So many unknowns going into this upcoming season, Brady on a new offense with an uncertain training camp and season for that matter. The one thing that concerns me is the defense, will the secondary take that leap this year ?? Brady had a solid defense last year and still excited in the first round of playoffs.

  9. Youngbucs Says:

Well technically we should’ve beat the 9ers week 1 but you know 🤷🏽‍♂️

  10. doolnutts Says:

We weren’t that far off last season we played the 49ers close. Brady aside we are a better team than we were last year. The depth on the team right now on offense is the best I can remember. Defense we did lose some depth guys but the core group remains which is great. We shall see

  11. Hodad Says:

That game was the kickers fault! No actually it was the MVP of the 9ers, Jameis Winston that lost the opener with two pick sixes. Who’d a thunk he’d end his Bucs career with a pick six at home to end the season.

  12. Roy T. Buford Says:

Lynch is building a beast in one of the country’s worst cities. Sure wish he was the GM here. Maybe one day?

  13. Erik Hesson - Fine Artist - City of St Pete Says:

    Joe,

You guys do realize that we could’ve beaten the Niners last time we played them if we just had mediocre, functional Quarterback play in that game… Instead of poor QB play and pick 6 etc

    19-0

  14. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

    Yawn. Wake me in September.

  15. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

    make it mid August.

  16. Jean Lafitte Says:

There’s no guarantee the 9ers will repeat.

  17. SufferingSince76 Says:

Having rooted for the Bucs since the beginning, I am being cautiously optimistic about the upcoming season. Then again, I’ve always been cautiously optimistic about the Bucs!! We know how that’s turned out more times than not. I do expect them to have a very competitive team and look forward to it

  18. Buc1987 Says:

Just win a lot more games than you lose.

  19. Ndog Says:

So we’re just going to ignore the fact that the head coach said one of those pick sixes was on Peyton Barber, another interception was on OJ Howard, OJ Howard fumbled the ball inside the 10-yard line and we had two touchdowns called back by holding penalties we’re ignoring that and putting it all on James right? That sounds about right for you losers.

So my question is when a game like that happens again this year (where multiple players crap the bed) will all you same folks just blame Brady as well?

  20. SmoothBayRider Says:

NDOG . Let it go bruh .

  21. TOM Says:

Just take it one game at a time. Timeless cliche.

  22. Ndog Says:

These plays never happened right, do it’s weird that they are still in the free box score?🤔

    2nd & 8 at SF 17
(13:45 – 2nd) J.Winston pass short right to C.Brate for 17 yards, TOUCHDOWN NULLIFIED by Penalty. PENALTY on TB-D.Dotson, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at SF 16.

    3rd & Goal at SF 9
(12:10 – 2nd) (Shotgun) J.Winston pass short right to C.Brate for 9 yards, TOUCHDOWN NULLIFIED by Penalty. PENALTY on TB-D.Dotson, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at SF 9 – No Play.

    3rd & Goal at SF 19
    (12:01 – 2nd) (Shotgun) J.Winston pass short left to O.Howard to SF 9 for 10 yards (F.Warner). FUMBLES (F.Warner), RECOVERED by SF-R.Blair at SF 8. R.Blair to SF 8 for no gain (O.Howard).

  23. Ndog Says:

I will not let lies go. If people want to be excited about this years team and talk about this years team that’s great. But I am not going to sit here and read lies especially when these a$$hats got what they wanted and he’s gone. I will not tolerate lying period! If people want me to stop then stop lying it’s really very simple.

  24. nfl fan Says:

Think better to stay humble and make the playoff first. Once in playoff, then it is sudden death, 1-match at a time. By then TB12 should have know his teammates very well. If someone say BUC will not make playoff, I bet my house BUC will get into the playoff. I would not under estimate TB12. Despite all his achievements, lots of people still rate TB12 as a draftee 199 that nobody wanted.

  25. nfl fan Says:

This season is unpredictable, sure the top teams (KC, 9ers, Seahawk, Ravens, etc) are favored to win…but if TB12, Russell, Patrick, etc.) gets the virus being this is contact sport, it might as well be over.

  26. Youngbucs Says:

Ndog you lie all the time and masquerade them as facts. None of you’re predicting has come true. In fact the opposite has happened. Now you’re new fact 😂 is Winston will haunt us for 10-15 years and that’s fact because what 5000yds lol.

  27. Ndog Says:

Again lying YoungBucs, I dont make predictions often but I do give my opinion as to what should be done. Again my opinion is that we will regret letting Jameis go. I am coming to a conclusion with you and that simply is you’re just not very intelligent as I spend most of my energy with you just explaining very basic things.

So here we go yet again. FACTS are things that are like the above with the plays that took place and the numerous records that a certain player has or a quote the a coach has made placing blame here or there.

A opinion is what someone thinks nothing more or less. Now it is true that I formulate my opinion based upon FACTS but those opinions do not become FACTS if they don’t happen.

Is that simple enough for you to understand?

  28. DanBucsFan Says:

    lol

  29. Bird Says:

Tool of the year goes to Ndog

A grown man acting like a baby
How could you have any friends ?

    What a loser

We all wish you would be a saints fan and then wherever 3 goes from there

  30. WestChap Says:

Ndog has lots of opinions about lots of facts… but all skewed in one direction. I hope he has a Blameless doll of some sort to snuggle and hug for comfort as the horror of a Bucs run to the Super Bowl plays out. Every pin point accurate pass, every prudent throw away and every victory will drive him to hug his Blameless doll and whisper sweetly “you coulda done that too Jaboo”. Just precious.

  31. Formerly Tampa 2 Says:

Ndog, I have now come to believe that you are Jameis Winston. Too many examples and to many excuses to not be Winston. While you may play everyone on here, I’m not buying it. You are Winston.

  32. Ndog Says:

Hey Bird he’s not wearing 3 in NO he’s wearing 2, get it corrected sir. Again FACTS.

  33. Bradybru Says:

Ndog c’mon really you keep living in the past. Move on get help, take good medicine, and have healthy conversations. Are you not stressed, all this talk about how it was and blah blah blah, it over, it’s not the same anymore.

  34. Youngbucs Says:

😂😂😂😂chill Ndog bird is a bucs fan take East on him. It’s ok if he doesn’t know what number a backup is wearing on another team chill.

  35. Bradybru Says:

Ndog its basically going to be a different team and different style with Brady as the leader, for the Bucs. I think healthier positive outlooks toward NFL and the Bucs should held. Go join a positive conversation on the saints site for JW, it might be more constructive and healthy for you.

  36. Bird Says:

    Actually he is 3rd string
Payton even confirmed taysom deserved right to be 2
So lets continue to call him 3
    😂

  37. unbelievable Says:

We could have beat the niners in week 1 last year too.

We gave that game away (INTs, drops, ghastly missed tackles).

  38. BringBucsBack Says:

Ndog, SF also had 3 TDs called back on penalties. Jimmy G was not great however, he protected the ball better.

  39. PUGS&BUCS Says:

I’m tired of seeing OJ Howard referred to a “weapon.” Whenever I hear someone say that, it’s proof positive that they haven’t watched a lick of Bucs football.

  40. Oneilbucs Says:

Keep blaming Jamies for last year because every lost was his fault cool . Jamies ain’t here no more so there’s no one left to blame . GMC is not here so you can’t blame him for the defense so it’s superbowl or bust playoffs ain’t good enough . And I here people calling us reverlantnow with the national media lol lol lol . All they talke about is Brady . They don’t never talk about David or any other player on the team . Then when they talk about Brady they still bring up the Patriots.

  41. Oneilbucs Says:

I’m done with last year yall got what yall wanted now and that’s setting us back a few years . So talk about this year and lets talk about the future of the team . I rather talk about that then a season that’s already over and a quarterback that’s gone and with another team . Oh and I don’t want to hear Rogers coming here . I want to hear building up our own team for the future .
