Bulletin Board Material?

Expects playoffs.

Man, the Bucs are getting so much run this offseason there is no way Team Glazer could have guessed its team would have received this amount of splash from a couple of offseason acquisitions.

When the BBC starts covering a workout at a local high school caught by the paparazzi, you know the Bucs have reached a level of coverage it didn’t even receive after winning its only Super Bowl 17 years ago.

Yesterday, NFL sack king Shaq Barrett hopped “Stay in Bed” seen on BSPN to talk, of course, Bucs ball. And Joe is starting to wonder if other teams in the NFC South are just about fed up with people knighting the Bucs as the next big thing.

Shaq stopped short of saying the addition of park-violating, home-invading Bucs quarterback Tom Brady is a virtual lock for the Bucs to be playing meaningful games in January.

“I think Jameis would have made a big jump,” Shaq said, if former starter Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, had been retained. “I think with Brady, it makes us an automatic contender for the Super Bowl.”

“Automatic contender.” Bold talk.

Look, Joe loves Shaq and it is inspiring that the Bucs are just oozing with confidence thinking Brady and Rob Gronkowski are the final pieces to their playoff puzzle. This is good stuff.

But Joe is guessing the Saints and the Dixie Chicks, not to mention the Super Bowl-champion Chiefs and the Chucky-led Raiders, are hearing all of this chatter and saying to themselves, “Really?”

Joe can just hear Chucky now in a Zoom meeting with his team, “These motherf@#$ers are already talking Super Bowl and that G@# %^&n fossil of a quarterback hasn’t even dropped back to pass behind that sh!tty offensive line! When they come in here we’re going to make that SOB Brady eat his pills and that old f@#$ing geezer Arians choke on his G@# %^&n Ensure. Those Glazer boys SOB’s fired me after I won them a G@# %^&n Super Bowl!”

Joe hopes the veterans on the roster who already own rings, Brady, Gronk, Shaq, Jason Pierre-Paul, let everyone else know how tough it is to get to the playoffs and that now the team has to live up to all the hype.

There sure is a lot of hype.

You can see a clip of Shaq in the ESPN video below.

If you’re not playing for the championship, why play?

    Fair point.

I think the bold talk came when he said he thought that the Uber harassing, finger chomping, turnover Machine, Nobody wanted, bust J Winston would turn it around when he has played reckless that way since college and was showing no signs of correcting his habits…..

He threw the winning pass to the opponent in the last 2 games!

    Confidence… I like that!

Must be nice to look forward to not having a 3rd alternate pro bowl qb back there giving the ball away more than candy on Halloween!

Give me the rule breaking, park practicing, extra cops patrolling his own house, violent home invasion robbing qb back there trying to get us a ring!

We need a RG who can get low and open lanes!!

Cappa is 6-6 and his center of gravity is too high!

We need a RG who has a thick lower body. Cappa can’t move DTs alone!

Please re-watch the season! Every snap!

We cant win a Super Bowl with Cappa!

We need to hire Logan Mankins to come coach the O-Line. Brady LOVES Mankins.

And we need to bring in a true starting RG! Let Cappa learn on the bench this season and be our 6th man off the bench.

So Joe, where is your fan/teammate loyalty? Why all the negative embellishment(that will grow sadly) for our QB with all he has accomplished in the NFL in 20 seasons of play with: “park-violating, home-invading Bucs quarterback Tom Brady”
When our former QB(now the enemy playing for the Ain’ts) gets this love.
“Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston”
Are you not happy that we have Brady on our team? Why no embellishments for the GOAT QB who is now our QB? Still butt hurt your guy got let go? That he was not snapped up like a $100 bill on the floor of a Vegas poker room. I do not get the disrespect. Yeah Yeah Yeah, your blog you write and look into what interests you. Thanks for all that. I’ve been here a long time, since 2007-8 I believe. And I do not get all the negative attitude to our signing the Greatest Of All Time QB. All while false propping our former QB. “America’s QB” BLAH BLAH BLAH. ???WHY???
    Go Bucs!

I don’t see a problem. He gave props to the 3rd alternate Pro Bowl, Ubergroping, lying to team and fans, cockroach stalkin’, “I ain’t changing my game”, “Check yo sheet, I’m ballin’, 3rd string QB. He just thinks the team will go farther with the 6 time Super Bowl winning, multiple MVP, Center of the NFL universe, QB we have now.

“Everybody’s got a plan until they get hit in the mouth.” I like the fact that the Bucs are confident, but until we see what they can do on the field, all the talk is just bulletin board fodder for other teams. I just hope the Bucs are not again buying in to all the hype?

  11. Swampbuc Says:

Love the hypothetical Gruden quote Joes.

Absolutely spot on. It smells too much like the 2019 Browns, winners of last year’s offseason and then dropped a deauce on the field.

  12. Owlykat Says:

There is a big difference between last year’s Browns and this year’s Bucs. Yes both were and are loaded with talent but we have BA with all his accomplishments and Brady and Gronk and the Browns had a rookie QB and a rookie head coach

  13. Wayne PEREZ Says:

A lot of hype I seem to recall one man took us to the super bowl grudnen now we have the goat all things are possible
