Arians Just Right For Gronk

Bruce Arians

Relates to players.

Joe has been going through dated video missed during the high-water mark of the draft and came across something interesting related to Bucs tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Remember when a dog started the rumor that Gronk was coming to Tampa Bay? Well, this gave the creator, curator and overall guru of Pro Football Talk, the great Mike Florio, the diving board to speculate on that possibility happening.

And of course, it did happen. Good dog!

Florio reasoned the Bucs would be attractive to Gronk and went beyond Gronk reuniting with his friend, park-violating, home-invading Bucs quarterback Tom Brady.

Bucco Bruce Arians, Florio said, is a guy Gronk would want to play for.

“For Gronk, Bruce Arians is the perfect coach,” Florio said. “Gronk had gotten worn out by Bill Belichick. Here comes Bruce Arians with a drink in one hand and he’s dropping f-bombs and he’s got the Kangol hat on.

“This guy is cool in the eyes of Rob Gronkowski. This is the kind of guy Gronk would come out of retirement for. Especially if it puts him back together with his good buddy Tom Brady.”

Remember very early in free agency when uber NFL insider Adam Schefter claimed the Bucs had their phones ringing off the desks because free agents wanted to come play for them now that the Bucs had Brady with Arians as head coach?

Of course, Joe asked rhetorically, “Where are they?” Joe wasn’t sure fans had Elliott Fry in mind when thinking of potential free agent signings.

But Joe thinks Florio is right on. Arians is a cool coach to play for (so long as you are not uptight about picks). Rarely do you ever hear any player slam Arians, even on their way out the door.

Gronk, and perhaps Brady too, now feel they are allowed to exhale and still ball out on the football field.

Joe, I appreciate you pumping up a buddy. But Florio is anything but great. His articles/proselytizing about whatever social issue got his goat that day might be the most annoying thing in sports media. (The rest of his staff is pretty good,) I know he’s an attorney, but that has led him to feel confident espousing some of the most ridiculous legal garbage I’ve ever read.

At least he lets Chris Simms speak. Point there in his favor.

It’s a free agents dream!!!!!!! Its lax!!!!!!!!! First off, they overpay, even when they are bidding against themselves!!!!!!!! There is no attention to detail, so it is pretty lax during the week!!!!!!!!!!!! This team lead the NFL in penalties, and have heard just about zero on that subject!!!!!!!!! Also there is no player development, so no “real” coach riding the free agent!!!!!!! At worst is they replace you with an even more expensive free agent, which the sheep will claim as the “final piece” to the superbowl puzzle!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s time to herd the sheep, and put them back in the pen!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!

No NFL player throws Arians under the bus, only wannabe GMs and Monday morning QBs who pretend they know more about football than the professionals. You know the kind. The kind that have been posting loads and loads of horse manure on this site for years, even after they been proven to be full of said manure on a regular basis.

    no little lady….

that whole lax environment was under dirks regime…..no know….chris baker…and smittys favorite player brent grimes…..tj ward….

those were dirks and smitty lazy players….

under dirk and smitty no position got developed except for pass catchers…..no player on defense was developed…no RB was developed….

the “real coaching” started once you helped dirk move up I-75….and that is evident by JPP, SUH & SHAQ wanting to still and TB & GRONK wanting to join the team…..

and lets not forget, you were the SHEEP to claim smitty was the “final piece”..lol…or real deal…or MVP of the season….lol…

Keep in mind – PFF is owned by NBC Universal. NBC Universal is owned by Comcast. Comcast is run by the Roberts Family.

Gronk is in Tampa Bay because Brady is in Tampa Bay. Arians just happens to be here. Had Tom went to any other team Gronk would have followed. The Bucs aren’t known for using TE under Arians so this will be a new thing for them.
Brady uses TE a lot. Brady isn’t the same without some safety valves to throw too and who does Brady know and who knows him the best? GRONK does.
What you are witnessing is probably three years of a NFL retirement party for Brady, Gronk and Arians. Loads of fun to come.
48 regular season games to enjoy with some post season play on top!
What more could you ask for? Somebody PEEEENCH ME!! Go BUCS!!!

    Marine buc. Good point sir

  9. 541BucsFan Says:

To play devil’s advocate, Arians doesn’t incorporate TE into the offense. I suspect he’ll alter his playbook a bit which will also be better for OJ.

How many times were fans screaming to get our stud TEs more involved.

Love when people pretend all the bad free agents Licht brought in were Dirk’s. Licht has no accountability, dude is lucky. Arians and Brady might save his career
