Rumor Mongreling

April 9th, 2020

Dog gone it.

Welcome to journalism in 2020.

Yesterday in a daily press conference to discuss this national emergency our republic is battling, Our President was asked about pardoning a guy who is the star of a reality show on Netflix. Someone by the handle of “Joe Exotic,” a lion tamer of some sort, is now doing hard time for hiring a proxy to knock off an animal rights activist.

You can’t make this up!

(What next, is someone going to ask 45 if the Bucs should draft a kicker?)

That brings us to today.

Last night, the dog of NFL humorist known as “PFT Commenter” Twittered an NFL rumor. The dog, known as “Leroy,” claims WWE Wrestlemania champion and former Belicheats tight end Rob Gronkowski wants to join the Bucs and play with Tom Brady.

Gronkowski, barks Leroy, is allegedly working out in Florida.

Today in his pre-draft presser, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht was asked about the Gronkowski rumor.

Licht didn’t bite. He basically said Gronkowski’s rights are still owned by the Belicheats. Likely knowing how his coach openly pined for Brady before the free agency dinner bell rang, breaking NFL tampering rules, Licht didn’t want to take a leak on that fire hydrant.

Still, Licht wondered why Gronkowski would want to return to football.

“He is doing a pretty good job with Wrestlemania right now.”

It’s now official. Journalism has gone to the dogs.

let me tell you something brother, whatcha gonna do when OJ Howard and Cam Brate run wild over you, we dont need no stinking GRONK

  2. Go Bucs 72 Says:

I don’t know if you know it our not Lee but the eighties are over.

  3. Adrnagy Says:

Exactly what I said.. Gronkowski to bucs. Why ? Brady knows it will be hard to be successful being a virgin. He has to outplay Jameis stats from last year.
Also. Brady doesn’t want to be the next joe Montana.

So who else do you turn to if you’re Brady. Your best weapon you’ve ever had.

Licht will be willing to send draft picks to Bill Belichick…why?
    1-Brady ask for it
    2- SB or bust.

  4. Bucsfan951 Says:

    NEWS FLASH!!!

4K yards, 25 tds and 8 ints will totally outplay JW.

  5. JimmyJack Says:

Defientally a fun rumor. Would love to see it happen. Not gonna get my hopes up.

  6. SOEbuc Says:

I hate this virus. National guys saying these stupid these stupid things and Brady will not make much a difference than Jameis.

  7. Bucamania Says:

Make it happen! SB or bust the next two years.

  8. Admiral Redbeard Says:

Wasn’t Belichek interested in Brate last season? Brate to the Pats for the rights to Gronk? I love Brate, but you’d have to be crazy not to take that offer. Gronk is outright better in every aspect of the game.

  9. jimm Says:

    question….

if gronkowski has retired gone on to the wwe how can ne still have rights ?

    jimm

  10. SteveK Says:

    Adrnagy,

Brady will outplay Jameis by being more EFFICIENT with the ball, hence winning Lee games. Wake up and smell the turnovers. They were the worst in the world.

  11. Joe Says:

if gronkowski has retired gone on to the wwe how can ne still have rights ?

A lot of it depends on how long his contract was. For example, Brady could “retire” right now but Bucs would have his rights for two years.

Remember Jake Plummer? He was retired and Bucs traded for his rights and tried to coax him out of retirement.

  12. Mort Says:

The docuseries is TIGER KING. It’s not about Lions really at all. Watch it, you’ll love it, Lee.

  13. chris L Says:

people brought this up last year too. do people forget the guy has lost so much weight since playing football? he doesnt want to play and for him to gain all of that back now is going to be difficult and then get into game shape without OTAs. oh yeah, and understanding the playbook. if this was happening, it already would have and he would look the same as his playing days. this is not happening.

  14. DBS Says:

He was on a National TV Game Show 2 weeks ago.. All the panelist said they missed him in the locker room and wished he would come back. His answer. ” You Never Know”. So now of course this is going to start.

  15. Joe exotic Says:

@coach sanders actually broke the Brady story 3 weeks prior and is also calling this gronk rumor to be accurate way before Leroy. You might look stupid if Leroy is piggy backing on coach’s obvious inside source

  16. Rod Munch Says:

    Brady gets what Brady wants.

If he wants Gronkowski, then you get him Gronkowski. They can trade OJ or Brate to NE for him.

If Brady wants Brown, then you get him Brown.

You don’t sign Brady to play the long-game and worry about where the team is going to be in 3 years, you sign Brady to win right this second, and you give him anything he wants.

But, as for Gronkowski, my understanding is that he has a contract with the WWE, and I’d assume that keeps him from being able to play football. I could be wrong on that certainly, but I assume its the same way they control over if Brock Lesnar can fight in UFC or not.

  17. jason light Says:

coach sanders on twitter actually had this before leroy. Sanders posted 2 weeks prior about brady. Sanders has some serious inside intel. Pats might wanna hire him for tampering intel

  18. MDFree Says:

No thanks. We’ve been the Tampa Bay Bears, the Tampa Bay Falcons, and most recently, the Tampa Bay Cardinals. I’d rather us establish our own winning identity without being labeled the Tampa Bay Patriots. We already have enough talent in the TE room as is and not a lot of cap room to waste. That money can be well spent elsewhere without sacrificing valuable draft capital.

  19. Hodad Says:

The only stat that matters is wins, and losses. If we go 12-4 and brady throws for only 4000 yds with 25 TD’s and 8 picks you gonna b#tch?

  20. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Ardnady I give you credit buddy. You’re like a dog with a bone you don’t give any of your points up. We will be happy if Brady turns out like Montana. Maybe you won’t but you never seem to be happy.

  21. Oneilbucs Says:

ROB Munch that’s a true definition of a loser . Yall happy about some other team leftovers instead of building our own franchise up . Lol lol

  22. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Yes & perhaps if Gronk had stayed at NE….then so would TB…..

  23. Buc50 Says:

I would like for us to do this without Gronk since we have some young guys that need to get paid. #NotMyPresident

  24. Adrnagy Says:

    Bandwagons

    Tampa bay patriots.

  25. stpetebucsfan Says:

Gronkowski may look like a big stupid goofball but he’s smart…at least smart enough to know he’s one good hit away from being a veg like Jim McMahon and so many others.

Gronk does NOT NEED the $$$. The WWE gives him an even bigger stage…not hidden behind a helmet…not forbidden to show off like the NFL…No Fun League.

The WWE will pay him well and he still gets a chance to be the class clown and have fun. He can have his ego stroked by WWE fans just as well or better than NFL fans.

Against all of that can ANYBODY give me one rational reason Gronk would come back to the NFL?

  26. Rod Munch Says:

stpetebucsfan – Did you actually see Gronk at Mania? The guy is a douche, and the wrestling nerds already hate him. He needs to get back in uniform before he becomes one of the most hated people on earth as his act is really stupid.

Oneilbucs – That would be one of the lamest attempts at an insult I’ve seen yet. Congrats, being that cringe isn’t easy.

As for the other idiots saying the Bucs are becoming the Patriots. LOL! Yeah, that would be a good thing you morons.

  27. permanent_moderation_doghouse Says:

If he wants to come in and play for vet minimum…. go for it… Otherwise, let’s not try to become Patriots south.

  28. David Says:

    ADRNAGY. Wow. Clueless.
    Seriously??
    LoL.

They have too damn good tight ends to awesome receivers. Why do people keep thinking they’re going to sign Antonio Brown and now Gronk.
    Give me a break.

They need another lineman and a running back. They need another DB and another D lineman. That’s about it. The last thing they need to do is get another receiver who cost a sh@t ton of money. They might sign someone for the slot but it sure as hell isn’t going to be some big-name guy who is going to cost them a lot of money.
That’s just ridiculous and pure football ignorance

  29. westernbuc Says:

Don’t be ridiculous, Arians doesn’t need Gronk. He has no use for tight ends

  30. Evo2706 Says:

TIGER KING JOES!!!! its 7 hours you wont get back. But I swear the madness of this show is unreal!! It’s a trainwreck you cant stop watching. you will swear none of it happened. But it all happened. It’s all true.

  31. TOM Says:

    I would rather have Edelman.

  32. PSL Bob Says:

Gronk was great, but we don’t need another tight end. Besides, Brady needs to break all ties with former NE players and just use what he has at his disposal. This offense alone is sufficient to at least get this team to the playoffs. We don’t need Antoinio Brown, and we don’t need the Gronk.

  33. Frank Pillow Says:

Look for a trade on draft day.

  34. lambchop Says:

Gronk is not coming out of retirement. This is total crap. He’s got a lot going for himself off the field.

  35. SappAttack Says:

Yeah, and he is going to play for vet minimum. Come on guys
