“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Are Not Waiting”

April 22nd, 2020

New day in Tampa Bay.

There’s a cliché that states, “strike while the iron is hot.” And for some NFL general managers not employed by the Bucs, the time to strike is the next 72 hours or so.

Long-time NFL scribe Peter King of NBC Sports offers up his take on the Bucs acquiring Rob Gronkowski. To King, it demonstrates “the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not waiting.”

So what does that mean? The Bucs are hellbent on playing at the Den of Depression in February before the world stage known as the Super Bowl.

(Yes, if the Bucs somehow make it to the Super Bowl, the moniker “Den of Depression” will likely have to be mothballed.)

Also in the video, King offers his take on what the market price for Bucs tight end O.J. Howard might be this week as the NFL is fully engrossed in the draft.

Superbowl baby!!!! Now the Bucs are probably a SB favorite going into the year! The other guy could never have even given us a shot at 7 wins!

Great time to be a Bucs fan!!!!!

(don’t think anyone is giving a 3rd for OJ Howard, or his potential as he has not earned a 3rd round trade pick)

  2. El Buco Realisto Says:

Of course the Pat’s fleeced the Bucs!!!!!!! History will show that the Pat’s traded a 7th round pick and two old players that they did not want nor would play for them, for a 4th round pick in 2020 and a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2021!!!!!!!!!

If this was 2015, then yes, it would have been a great move!!!!!!!!!! Ole stale biscuit is going to leave this team in worse shape of what he left Arizona in!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Buc1987 Says:

    Joe you’re certainly right.

No one will be depressed at Raymond James on SB night.

    Go Bucs!

    Me Gronk!

  4. El Buco Realisto Says:

At this rate, they will still need Rodney Harrison to come out of the booth to play safety, and they could dig up Junior Seau to play linebacker, then maybe they will win one playoff game!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy it now sheep!!!!! Their will be a huge price to pay!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Tampabuscsbro Says:

El Trollo realisto at it again.

  6. Chris K Says:

El Buco…. You should join the ranks of Troll Max and a couple of the other fools who have figured out that it’s best to kick rocks with that crap.

  7. Imon Says:

Do you guys remember a QB named Jameis or something like that? Guess he’ll be at home watching Brady to Gronk, huh? Has any team in the league expressed a single iota of interest?

  8. SOEbuc Says:

People still don’t realize how much Nassib had an impact with JPP and Shaq getting pressure. Trade down in the first and get OLB Zack Baun or Anfernee Jennings brought in Round 2-3 to learn from LVD and Shaq. Resign LVD and Shaq with one of these guys and we have the best LB corp in the league.

  9. SOEbuc Says:

^^That’s striking while the iron is hot^^

  10. LordCornelius Says:

    Swap a 3 for OJ and basically it’s OJ + a 4th for Gronk + 3rd + 7th

upgrade at TE and draft pick basically
    downgrade on cap

“The other guy could never have even given us a shot at 7 wins!”

Except when we won 7 games last year, or 9 games a couple seasons before that…

    Whoops.

But yea otherwise you’re totally right Robert. Good to see your asinine opinions haven’t gone anywhere these last few months!

  12. BUCTIME Says:

All these new names are just hating and jealous Joe !! Great move and sorry Cam, but your time as a Buc is coming to an end and for these clowns hating this trade really don’t know their arse from a hole in the ground !! Go BUCS or Go troll another site !! NDOG must have brought out his friends or joined the Pats, but butt hurt much NE.. lmao !!!! Super Bowl

  13. JustBucNwin Says:

We need to move up for one of the Big 4 OL and packaging OJ and swapping picks should move us a few spots up! Might need to throw in our remaining 4th rounder too…

  14. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Nassib’s issue was he could never GET THERE or did not wrap up.

  15. SOEbuc Says:

They have to trade OJ cus I’m not gonna trade TB12 and Brate in the red zone for sh!t. Gronk, Brate, Auclair, Hudson in the TE room.

  16. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Unbelievable

You make a good point. I still think the big picture of The other guy is this. He just didn’t pass the eyeball test. Bruce came in and played with him for a year and said man this guy is really bad. So far the other 31 teams feel the same way.

For years I said, this guy just does not look/play like an NFL quarterback. And I still think he should be playing baseball. That’s how he throws the ball.

  17. Frank Pillow Says:

Might be interesting to try and gauge what OJ’s relative trade value is to Brate’s…both from a pick/player swap perspective and potential salary implications. That and the Bucs’ schematic needs (in terms of what this offense is going to look like) and knowing that Gronkowski may not make it through a full schedule. OJ still comes relatively ‘cheap‘ and might be better suited to fill the OTHER TE role in something akin to the Pats two TE system of yore.

  18. Mike Johnson Says:

The caption underneath the pic says new day in Tampa Bay. Well you’re right. Its a new day in the annuals of scamming. Gronks getting 10 mil to play half a season. He is injury prone and has not completed an entire season since 2011. Then there is the. Statue of liberty brady. One hit away from the nursing home. I’ll be here to tell you all..I told you so. Bucs got bamboozled bigtime.

  19. unbelievable Says:

    @jmark – no doubt.

I was surprised to see him regress under Arians, after statistically improving in basically every category each year before that.

However that windup was never going to get coached out of him lol. Doesn’t matter now, I just like giving Robert chit for all his terrible opinions.

  20. WhatTheBuc Says:

As soon as I see a Realist post I just skip over it.
