“You Don’t Let Pass Rushers Leave The Building”

March 16th, 2020

Crunch time.

Shaq Barrett was slapped with the franchise tag this morning.

But until Barrett actually puts his John Hancock on a piece of paper in front of Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht, anything is possible.

After all, we are talking the Bucs here.

Yesterday on NFL Network, the Los Angeles-based outfit had a panel discussion on what will happen with Shaq and the pluses and minuses in giving Shaq a megadeal. Included in the panel was former NFL scout and current draftnik Daniel Jeremiah, who Joe knows to be tight with Licht.

Said Jeremiah, “You don’t let pass rushers leave the building in today’s NFL.”

Well, Joe has some words of advice for Jeremiah: The Bucs do!

You can watch and listen to the breakdown of Shaq in the NFL Network video below.

you also don’t overpay 1 year wonders with no previous track record of success…..

bucs keep the gambles and let talent walk. this will not end well bucfan strap your cups on nutpunches are coming!!!!!!

  2. Cobraboy Says:

    Barrett mega > Michael Bennett

    Apples and oranges.

Plus Bennett is a d!<k and Barrett is a good guy.

  3. Thisisouryear!!! Says:

What do you mean anything is possible? He can’t sign with another team if we franchise him right? Thanks.

  4. Ndog Says:

How many teams let a 5,000 yard passer walk out of the building?

Answer no one ever in the history of the league accept the great Tampa Bay Buccaneers of course.

  5. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Ndog come on I know you think Winston is the greatest thing since sliced bread but he threw 30 interceptions and was lucky he didn’t throw a lot more. whoever wins the turnover battle wins the game 80% of the time.

I would say more but you won’t listen anyway.

  6. Pewter power Says:

Anything to exaggerate… this Michael Bennett thing was the Bucs duh but why there hell they keep putting that mark Dominick mistake on every coach and gm that walks through the door is behind me. News flash we let Michael Johnson and daquan Bowers walk too. Get over it already this isn’t Greg schiano coaching the Bucs

  7. jerseybuc Says:

QB’s are judged on wins, not yards. Time to win.

  8. Defense Rules Says:

@Ndog … “How many teams let a 5,000 yard passer walk out of the building?”

And how many teams let a 30 INT passer walk out of the building? Hard to say Ndog, there haven’t been that many of those in the NFL to get a good sample.

  9. Adrnagy Says:

If Bruce and licht sign a new qb. The pressure is on them to win next year

    they’re toast.

  10. Pewter power Says:

Hey NDOG why not stop mentioning that ONE 5000 yard season as if it is the norm for winston especially since the year before he was suspended and benched.

You know what is the norm for this quarterback? Double digit picks is the only consistent thing he does. Stop making it seem like he is a top 5 quarterback based on one specific stat in one year. Enough with the stupidity already.

  11. Ndog Says:

Again avoiding the point and FACTS.

How many teams let a 5,000 yard passer walk out of the building?

  12. Adrnagy Says:

So both side love each other but a deal couldn’t get done ? What happen to “discount” …

    Fools.
You think bucs will resign “everyone “ with the one year wonder demands.

Here go the Bucs dumping 20M yr to a player demanding Mack / Donald money.

  13. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Ndog it literally doesn’t matter how many yards you pass for in the modern NFL.

If any progress at all was made with yards it was wiped out with turnovers.
Also there isn’t a sample size on guys who threw 33 TDs and 30 INTs.

It’s amazing that so many don’t seem to know the implication of a QB turning over the ball that much has on the game no matter what other stats he puts up.

    ANYHOW

THE CLUELESS NUT HUGGING NDOG WILL IGNORE THESE FACTS AND CALL ME AND EVERYONE IN HERE THAT KNOWS FOOTBALL CLUELESS.

  14. rhenry Says:

So, did Barret get tagged with the exclusive or non-exclusive franchise tag?

  15. #1 Pick QB 2 Cent Brain Says:

Didn’t Matt Schaub pass for 5k? He and Jameis will be the outliers in the 5k club that everyone laughs and knows they are not franchise qbs

Dominik let’s pass rushers go and see where he is at now

  16. Tampabuscsbro Says:

@#1 Pick QB 2 Cent Brain Says:

No in 2009 on the Texans he passed for 4770 yards. he had a few more good years then horrifically almost instantaneously regressed after the 2012 pro bowl year he put up.

  17. Tbbucs3 Says:

“it literally doesn’t matter how many yards you pass for in the modern NFL.”

Tampabaybucsbro……You keep saying this an it’s a horrible take, what do you think contributed to the Bucs having a #3 scoring offense? They didn’t just magically get in the endzone all the time.

The Bucs consistently move the ball up and down the field when other offenses in the NFL are stagnant.

I’m not even 100% sold on Jameis but I can’t let dumb comments like this one fly.

  18. Pete I Says:

How many teams let a 5,000 yard passer walk out of the building?

    Two…

The Broncos let Peyton Manning wall out of the building

    And

The Dolphins let Dan Marino walk out of the building.

And maybe a third…New England if Brady walks oit the door.

A better question is how many teams have replaced one 5000 yard passer with another 5000 yard passers…maybe Tampa?

  19. tmaxcon Says:

    Tampabuscsbro

Whats the difference in you ignoring that jameis had haf to face 2 defensive units for 5 years. Jameis had had one of the worst defensive units in NFL history but your ignorance and selective memory chooses to ignore those facts….

  20. Tampabuscsbro Says:

My point is it’s never been easier to pass in the NFL. He had two top 5 WRs where all he did well was go deep.

  21. Mister Negative Nancy Says:

Who, Michael Bennett? seemed like a nut job

  22. ElBajito43 Says:

Bro NDOG what are you even gonna post about once Winston is gone. (HE GONE!) youuu CAAAN put it on da BOOOAAARRRRD!

Cmon “my guy” it’s like cringe worthy obsessed. Your not even trolling like some weirdos on here who will not be named, it’s really sad TBH.

@NDOG…… YOU ARE NOT A BUCS FAN. Once Winny- Pooh is gone PLZ FOLLOW HIM OUT THE DOOR 🚪 thanks 🙏- sincerely, EVERY REAL BUCS FAN

  23. Mike Johnson Says:

Pretty shrewd if You ask me. Barrett would have made mega millions on the open market. Cheap Bucs keep the leagues leading sacker for half of what he is worth. Then they let Jameis hit the open market and bring him back at the price They want to pay him and not anywhere close to what his agent is asking. We would be foolish to pay A washed up Qb-Brady all of our salary cap money. So I see what the Bucs are doing. Hope it does not backfire on them though.

  24. 813bucboi Says:

    ndog

how many teams let a QB that threw 30INTs BACK into the building?….LOL….

JW has made all the wrong type of history in tampa…..lol…

    first qb with 30INTs….
    first qb with 7 pick6s in a single season….
first qb to throw for 5k and become a career back-up…..

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  26. Clean House Says:

Licht and Arians should be fired

  27. Buczilla Says:

Unless one of the teams picking in the top 10 this year want to trade their number one pick for Shaq, we should sign him long term, unless he’s looking for superstar $ (20 mil+).
