Tom Brady News Adds Intrigue

March 10th, 2020

Hint on new team revealed?

Joe has always maintained that there was little reason to think future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady would come to Tampa Bay strictly due to non-football business.

While Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians openly pined for Brady at the combine in Indianapolis, Joe always thought Brady would be a better fit in Los Angeles, in Miami or in Las Vegas.

Again, for non-football business purposes.

Joe figured his wife Gisele, a super rich supermodel, would want to be close(r) to glitzy, showy places where the captains of the fashion industry hang. Again, that would be Los Angeles, Miami or maybe Las Vegas (self-glossed entertainment capital of the world).

Well, Mike Fleming, Jr., of Deadline.com dropped a story late yesterday that gives fuel to Joe’s theory. It seems Brady just launched a Hollywood production company.

Brady is launching 199 Productions, a global multi-platform content company to develop original premium content including documentaries, feature films and television shows. The company has quietly assembled a slate of development projects that include several with Brady on camera, in stories spanning sports, entertainment and health and wellness among others.

And it seems Brady has enlisted the services of several Tinseltown heavy hitters as partners in his new venture.

So you know what this tells Joe?

Brady is basically saying, “Love the love you gave me Bruce, but I’m heading to the west coast. Not the west coast of the east coast.”

Hello Chargers?

Or is 49ers shot caller John Lynch calling?

Don’t rule out raiders vegas is hollyweird east. Just a quick flight…

  2. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

I’ve believed since the beginning of last season Brady could make a play ( and vice versa ) for the 49ers…his favorite team growing up. Plus…he could come over the top on Jimmy GQ as Joe calls him. The 49ers and Lynch haven’t ruled it out publicly. Lynch actually asked about Brady’s availability before pulling the trigger on the Jimmy GW trade.

  3. Hawk Says:

But when a QB actually moved his family to Florida, that meant nothing….
(not that I think it did either, but this doesn’t mean anything in the technology age that we live)

  4. JimmyJack Says:

Joe I understand the non football business part but don’t you think the team matters?

Miami and San Diego aren’t really on the cusp of anything except maybe another Top Draft choice. The Raiders seem somewhat dysfunctional with Gruden and mayo at the helm though I could see that more then the other two.

Call me crazy but I think Brady is gonna want a legit title shot wherever he goes. Im crossing LA and Miami off my list for sure.

  5. DalvinCookRules Says:

[Sorry, Joe cannot allow a comment about the current resident at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. allegedly frequenting certain businesses on Dale Mabry Highway. Am sure you can find other places on the internet to post these rumors. Joe has no desire to tangle with the Secret Service. Been there, done that and it’s not pleasant. — Joe]

  6. PUGS&BUCS Says:

    Namath the Ram. 🤢
    OJ the Niner. 🤢
    Emmett the Cardinal. 🤢
    Brady the _________. 🤭

Don’t do it, TomBrady. I’m not even a Patriots fan and it would be REALLY weird to see you in another jersey.

  7. REDZONE BA Fan Says:

    Projections:
Brady re-signs w/Pats, who upgrade receivers in draft. And FA signings for other.
Rivers to Bucs, draft Eason in Rd 2.
    Bridgewater to Colts
    Tanneyhill to Titans

Gruden signs JW as “back-up” to Carr. JW replaces Carr by game 5 as starter.
Bears stick with M Trub, with Dalton in the wings.
Chargers start Tyrod, and draft QB – Herbert.

    Obvious:
    Bengals > Joe LSU
    Dolphins > Tua

  8. VegasBuc Says:

TB don’t wanna pay those CA taxes. He wants to finally get paid what he’s worth before riding off into the sunset. FL or Vegas. No state taxes.

  9. Waterboy Says:

Brady won’t go to a division where he has to face showtime Mahomes twice a year during regular season.

  10. MadMax Says:

Um yeah, theres no such thing as running a business, from other states or even internationally, when youre a multi millionaire. wow.

But if he doesnt come here, all good….we got Bridgewater in our sights! and jaboo is the fall back at 20-22 mill per year…..all good 🙂

  11. catcard202 Says:

Las Vegas Raiders… a short 1hr15min flight from LA – 4hr drive.. (Basically the Boston commute.)

Media smoke about TB12 & Bucs was more smokescreen & pipe dream, than reality. Bucs never seemed like a real good fit. (43yr old QB & shaky OL / no run game worth mentioning)

JW3 still looks like the best option, Yr2 improvements are more likely than next man up instant success. IMO, but could see the FO letting the market set his rate.

If JW3 is a walk..Maybe Rivers makes sense in near term, as a 1-2yr mentor to a guy like Mid-Round QB Cole McDonald (HAW) who has same quirky delivery as Rivers & could be a steal after a yrs development/NFL coaching & film study.

  12. ncbucsfan Says:

Idk why we’d even consider Brady, smh! Jameis is our QB!! Thru 5 seasons (72 games), Jameis has a 121td/88int ratio. Peyton Manning thru 5 seasons (first 72 games), had 125td/92int ratio 4 more tds, 4 more ints. He also had a RB by the name of Edgerrin James, that had 2 of his 4 1500-yd seasons in Peytons first 5 years, also not to mention a prime HOF WR Marvin Harrison giving him 105-143 catches/yr…..and he had 8 home games free of bad weather (dome). The Jameis hate is ridiculous!!! Matthew Stafford thru 72 games had 129td/83ints (including a 41td year he’s never duplicated since) heavily benefitting from Calvin Johnson’s heroics and indoor home games and we didn’t hear crap except he was such a franchise QB!!! I wonder why not!!!! Some crap just never changes no matter what, smh!

  13. ncbucsfan Says:

Jameis needs a running game, period. Last year when you take away Todd Gurley (injury), Jared Goff fell off to a passer rating on par with Jameis after looking like the 2nd coming of Joe Montana when Gurley was blazing the NFL. You give me a better passer statistically and I’ll show you a good running game or a west coast dink and dunk offense that doesn’t take shots down the field like the Bucs (exception Patrick Mahomes!!)

  14. westernbuc Says:

I don’t buy this LA thing. Brady wants to win another ring, preferably without Belichick. He’ll go where he thinks he can win immediately.

Chargers aren’t any good, Raiders are terrible. The only way he ends up in CA is with the Niners.

As for his production company. He’s not going to do anything. Brady will put up money and a bunch of hired guns will figure out the rest. Not to mention, he can’t focus on that during the season.

Ultimately I think he stays in New England if Belichick gets him weapons.

  15. Alanbucsfan Says:

How much is the cost of a private jet and rented condo or house in Hollywood, CA vs state income and property taxes in California?
I doubt if Brady is meeting California business associates during football season except maybe by teleconference.
-Probably a non factor in decision making.

  16. Bird Says:

Your favorite BSPN had an article yesterday

And bucs and titans were the 2 finalists but in the end they thought he would go to Titans

I dont disagree with gisele in the picture
    She is totally LA material
But she is a family mom now .

Plus LA is not really close to a championship . And its a disaster now although they would live in bellair or nice part
Not saying bucs are close either. Just saying a lot of weapons here which he complained about in NE

However ,shaq and lebron went to LA for the same reasons/rumors so who knows

  17. LetsGoBucs Says:

It means…nothing. Just like his Hulu Super Bowl commercial teased ahead of time via his Instagram post, was for moths to a flame to chew on for attention. Another stunt.

It means nothing, for his football decision.

And in another distinction, unlike LeBron with his production company where he is actually hands-on with projects, Brady will have no hand in outside TB12 related projects.

2-3 more years played and where has no bearing on this, and vice versa.

  18. Bucsalltheway Says:

Brady and vrabel and he gets Humphries as promised…

  19. Pewter power Says:

Ok he launched a Hollywood production company. What are you saying that because he’s Tom Brady no need to do offseason training no need to learn the new playbook or go to training camp? Basically just show up on Sunday….. here cant run that company and play quarterback, maybe his Idea is to play just one more year. Even if hes with the chargers how much time will he be able to get that kind of project and football, I think it matters not and besides chargers have a horrible offensive line much worse than ours and vegas has no better targets than the Patriots plus the defense sucks so he’d be going there to lose

  20. martinii Says:

Wait a minute guys, consider this story was written by “Deadline.com,” do you think it is about the offensive line or the defensive line? Is it March 15th, yet? ZZZZZZZZ….

  21. The Man Says:

    Sign Jameis.

  22. Anonymous Says:

How can Brady end up with the 9ers after the monster contract to Jimmy G?

  23. stpetebucsfan Says:

I think Brady is focused on NOW! He wants to succeed in his chosen profession.
All of these other activities are for life AFTER football.

Convenience is nice but at the end of the day Brady is a super focused very smart competitor. It’s why he’s the GOAT not because of some overwhelming physical talent.

He has one…maybe two or three years left. He’s well aware of that!!! He’s not going to jeopardize FOOTBALL success for Hollywood success. He and his wife are filthy rich so money is not really an issue…we are talking CONVENIENCE!!!

He can be in LA as quickly as folks from St. Pete commute to Orlando. He’s not going to immerse himself in his career after football before his TRUE LOVE…FOOTBALL!!! is completed in exactly the fashion he wants.

He has his pick…so Im not suggesting he’s the next Buc QB…just saying it’s not as illogical as is made out an business committments in LA or NYC or Boston or anywhere will not drive his decision.

I think Tom Brady has his list sorted by one MAJOR QUESTION.

WHICH TEAM GIVES ME THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN!!!!

Now if that’s a tossup or close then he can sweat the small stuff.
