Rehabbing Jameis

March 10th, 2020

Video released.

So we learned after the season was over that Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, had knee surgery.

Specifically, Jameis had surgery to repair a torn meniscus that needed trimming. This indirectly was confirmed at the combine by Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht.

Well, a video production company out of the Mobile, Ala. region, Marks Media Cinematography, released a video showing Jameis doing rehab to get his knee back to 100 percent.

Also what is interesting to Joe in the video is that Jameis is wearing a sweet creamsicle Bucco Bruce T-shirt. But what does that mean? Is it a sign that he wants to stay in Tampa Bay or that he and the team are in serious talks to keep him… or have a handshake deal?

    Means nothing.

    1. It’s just a t-shirt.
    2. He is a Buccaneer until he isn’t a Buccaneer.

  2. Hethrew 30 Says:

    Joe is a pushover, falling for another Winston BS routine. Does anyone with a brain really think Winston is using Jesus/religion, his fake self-criticism, and now a Bucco Bruce logo for anything other than a charade? It should turn the stomach.

    BTW, you can’t rehab something that never was, as the title the article suggests. Yeah, Winston can get his knee allegedly repaired, but that was never his problem…it’s his brain/decision making. That won’t be fixed.

    He’s gonna make someone a minimally acceptable backup QB. I wish him luck.

  3. Hethrew 30 Says:

    Just like that ridiculous book last year (OMG what a piece of crap) that claimed Winston is a Hall of Fame kinda guy but everyone in the world except he and author were too stupid know it, this year you have this video where he’s what? Some kind of Rocky maybe? The return? LOL! What a joke. No one is running out to get Jameis. Most media buzz is about other QB free agents. I’ve even seen some who insinutate the Bucs should keep him since they were stupid enough to draft him first overall. Some sage advice for Winston would be to rest on your own laurels and don’t expect others to go out and try to manipulate others for you.

  4. JP_09 Says:

    lol you’d think he broke his neck. It’s a F@cking meniscus, that was torn not even ruptured

  5. BucBoy Says:

    Jameis played with a torn meniscus that occurred during the second Saints game, a broken thumb for the 2 1/2 games and his top two receivers during that same period. Not many QBs would have done that. Now he is vigorously rehabbing and still is finding time showing up at community events as a Buccaneer. The Buccaneer organization would be idiots to give up on a player so committed to his craft, his team and community. And for the haters, Jameis has been involved in community and charity events since FSU and was brought up in the church, so get off the religion stuff.

  6. cover2blitz0 Says:

    I wonder how old this is he’s still wearing a cast and glasses both of which he shouldn’t need anymore. Gotta give him credit playing through the thumb injury though must have been worse than everyone let on to still be in a cast

  7. ModHairKen Says:

    He threw 30 picks and directly lost multiple games in his 5th year. He’s never made the playoffs. He’s been reckless in his personal life. He’s hired an idiot as an agent and suggested he’s worth $30M.

    But let’s laud him for wearing a t-shirt? And if you have to tell people you’re religious, you are using it for the wrong reasons.

    Next.

  8. Defense Rules Says:

    cover2blitz0 … I’ll say it again. Players who play hurt and end up hurting the team aren’t doing anyone a favor. Not even themselves.

    If folks are going to use the thumb or knee as an excuse for him throwing 5 INTs in the last 2 games … BOTH losses BTW … then he shouldn’t have been playing. Oh and I forgot the eyesight. My bad.

    Far too many excuses. Here’s a FACT: 30 INTs is also bad. Very very bad.

  9. Stanglassman Says:

    The guy gutted out the season without his his two WRs and played with a broken right thumb and injured knee. No Qb was going to win the first half of the season with the worst defense in the league. The 2nd half they went in a winning streak until the injuries caught up to them. You all act like the Bucs were in the playoffs every year until Jameis arrived. You guys post tells everyone a lot more about you than in does Jameis.

    I have zero doubt Jameis will succeed in this league I just hope it’s with the Bucs. Jameis did throw for 5K yards, 33Tds, helped both his WRs make the probowl, had back to back 450+ games. The 2nd half the only lose prior to the injuries was to the Saints. Prior to that when the defense was starting to show some life the lost in OT in Seattle and on a bad call in Tenn.

    I think Jameis was able to overcome the thumb injury but without his top two WRs and not being able to plant his right knee it was too much.

  10. BucEmUp Says:

    And a broken throwing hand, and bad eyes but yeah, and going into a second year in the system…..but yeah no wya there is any room.for improvement right?

    This dude more motivated and a harder worker than any player you could possibly replace him with People just love to hate him

  11. Bucsfanman Says:

    Minor procedure, he’ll be fine. These are common injuries playing football.
    Heal fast Jameis! Your next contract is at stake.

  12. BigHog Says:

    Let me step on a few toes here…it is the coach’s call to say who plays and who is on the sideline with a clip board!!

  13. rrsrq Says:

    I remember that rehab when I tore my meniscus, brings back painful memories. I digress, JW is. Buc, can’t wait until decision Jameis so we can get pass this, all I know is the team better win next year, with or without him, I’m still Buc Nation all the way…
    Mike got paid, Brate got paid, Hump got paid, Perriman about to get paid, Godwin will be paid…, who’s next

  14. Bird Says:

    I just dont see how the medical team would let him play those last 2 games if he really had an acute tear in knee

    Especially since bucs out of playoffs at that point

    Makes more sense they cleaned up some old scar tissue
    After all , who saw him gimping around like he had a knee injury ?

    The lasik is a joke. A large group of people wear contacts who dont or cant have lasik.

  15. cover2blitz0 Says:

    I’m not making any excuses for his bad plays just stating the fact you have to admire that he gutted it out with a messed up thumb and knee because sitting or playing he’s getting paid either way and it shows alot more desire than alot of others have shown here

  16. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

    Please bring Jameis back! I think the man deserves a chance with an actual defense and running game. Go Bucs! Go Jameis!

  17. Pete Says:

    I hope for and expect a long and successful career for Jameis!

  18. passthebuc Says:

    Just because you scale Mount Everest 30 times in record time and fall off 30 times, does that mean you should be in charge of the expedition force.

  19. Bruce Blahak Says:

    nice shirt, bad QB…

  20. Pewter power Says:

    I think he was an idiot for playing hurt without his two top targets while knowing he’s wanting 30 million. 10 ints in 4 games he should have known he’d be in this situation.

  21. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

    Bad knee bad hand bad vision…this guy has all the excuses and now a Hollywood production team to show that he was kirk gibson playing for the dodgers and still hitting dingers

  22. Richbucsfan Says:

    I don’t recall this injury on the weekly injury report teams put out. Isn’t that a violation of some sort?

  23. OneBuc55 Says:

    To those who think Jameis was selfish for playing injured must have never played competitive sports…

    At the end of the day it’s still the coach’s decision to allow that player to play…Most professional athletes (especially football players) always feel they’re good enough to go…It’s the trainers and coaching staffs job to save these guys from themselves for the sake of the team…The fact that they left him out there with a broken throwing hand and a busted knee is pretty disturbing…

    It also should quiet those who where screaming for Griffin…If Ryan Griffin was any good at all he would’ve been out there…it just proves that even at 75% Jameis is still better than a 100% Ryan Griffin…

    If anything BA found out that Jameis is a tough cookie, but obviously still has room to grow as a QB…

    Get well Jameis, America needs you…

  26. #1 Pick QB 2 Cent Brain Says:

    What’s he doing to improve his decision making and accuracy…

    Still waiting to hear of another team willing to pay this guy 25-30 million

  27. NPRSageBoy. Says:

    Nice try, but he’s hurt himself more than surgery can repair.

    Time to move on.

    By week’s end JayMiss will be someone else’s problem.

    Peace, out

  28. PSL Bob Says:

    No Joe. It means he has a sweet creamsicle Bucco Bruce T-shirt. Nothing more, nothing less. You’re really over reaching on this one.

  29. JameisTheBackup1of1 Says:

    Bahahahahahahahahah! What other “franchise” QB feels the need to put out a hype video like that? The answer is none. Good riddance to him and his merry band of hangers on and JulyJoe1of1’s who are always telling him how fantastic he is. He’s just the latest version of Jeff George/Jay Cutler – a guy with tons of talent but a 10 cent head. At least his sycophants will always have “but, but, but five thousand yards!” to keep them warm at night…..

  30. Joe Says:

    The lasik is a joke. A large group of people wear contacts who dont or cant have lasik.

    Agree Bird. Think it is way overblown.

  31. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    I may be right or wrong, but I have never wavered in my belief that Winston will be our starting QB in 2020.

    But let’s look deeper into this.

    Why would Bruce Arians allow Winston to play with all those health issues? Word is that Winston refused to quit, but Bruce could have put his foot down. Probably should have, because Ryan could use the experience.

    But he didn’t. It’s not like Arians was afraid to put his foot down. So why didn’t he?

  32. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    On the Lassik thing, I have a couple questions:

    • How many players in contact sports wear contacts during events?

    • Isn’t there a risk that they come out during plays? If so, yikes.

    I can’t imagine a boxer wearing them during a match. With this oline, Jameis gets hit a lot. Maybe he tried contacts for a bit and for some reason it didn’t work out.

  33. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    JP_09 Says:
    “lol you’d think he broke his neck. It’s a F@cking meniscus, that was torn not even ruptured”

    ~~~
    Steven Stamkos missed 4 months for a torn meniscus, which is pretty common.
  34. Craig Says:
    So, after the debacle of his audition season to become a franchise QB, he gets things fixed.
    Can this be the beginning of a new Nip/Tuck serial? Seems like it is a day late and a few suitors short.
  35. Mike Johnson Says:
    Thanks for the video here Joe. Jaboo rehabbin looking good. he also has lost that gut and will come back in shape. Lets see..New eyes and new knees. I know its a stretch here but..Could we have a new Jameis ready to take us to the playoffs?
    Lets hope so.
  36. Cgmaster27 Says:
    I love all the new names on jameis articles. You trolls are pathetic and really need to get a life. And jameis has been a devout Christian his whole life so knocking the religious aspect of this proves you know nothing anout jameis. Again, get a life.
  37. El Buco Realisto Says:
  38. pryda...sec 147 Says:
    Can’t wait for the 2020 season
  39. MadMax Says:
    A bum knee, supposedly fixed eyesight, healed fractured thumb on throwing hand….man the excuses this next season if we bring him back. I’d be scared to invest even 15 mill….
    So much has went wrong and now even more could go wrong….if im BA and JL, im not taking the gamble.
  40. Ljsolutions Says:
    Does his logo depict the 30 30 record he earned this past season? Way to own it. Go somewhere else j-miss.
  41. T REX Says:
    I can’t wait for this to be over.
  42. The Man Says:
    He also had a cast on his throwing hand/thumb.
    eF’it.. Sign Jameis. Go Bucs!
  43. Donuts Says:
    No leg muscle definition after 5 seasons in the NFL. Telling about his commitment level of being the best QB compared to reality. He comes into One Buc at 6AM… get a leg workout in. He is not the one to bring us a playoff run let alone SB.
