“Seven Or Eight Primetime Games”

March 18th, 2020

Joe has already maintained that the addition of Tom Brady to the Bucs means five primetime games this fall.

If there is a football season.

But who would know more about the Bucs potentially playing in primetime than a guy who works for a TV network?

Will Brinson of CBS Sports did a hit on CBS Sports HQ this morning to discuss the rumors (already shot down) that Brady would bring Antonio Brown with him to the Bucs.

In the discussion about Brown, Brinson suggested up to half of the Bucs’ regular season will be played under the lights before the full attention of the nation.

“They are already going to get seven or eight primetime games for this team next year,” Brinson said.

As for the Brady bringing Brown to the Bucs, Brinson’s reaction was summed up in one word.

You can see the full segment from CBS Sports HQ below.

  1. D-Rome Says:

That will also mean that Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will call far more Bucs games instead of getting the 3rd stringers of David Diehl and Dick Stockton.

  2. #1 Pick QB 2 Cent Brain Says:

    Maybe 5 or 6 not 8

Can’t wait for the Vegas game though

  3. John Says:

Prime time and relevant for my beloved Bucs….hell yeah

  4. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I really doubt that will happen…unless we go on a winning streak early.

  5. John Says:

    Prime time and relevant…go bucs

  6. reply Says:

If Twilight Tom manages to con Licht into signing AB, then I will officially wash my hands of this team. I know these Twilight Tom zealots who just became “Bucs fans” yesterday would love a stupid move like that. My disappointment with this signing is growing into hatred. These are NOT real fans people.

  7. Tye Says:

What a difference just going from one of the worst to one of the best at the QB position..

  8. reply Says:

    Aaaaand that matters why??!

  9. BucAllNight Says:

    Next priorities:

    1. Resign Suh
    2. Restructure Brate, Gholston, Marpet to add cap space
    3. Sign Conklin for RT
Draft RB, DL(Edge) or DT, Safety [Best player available in 1st 3 rounds]
Draft Development “QB of future” in Round 4

    Go Bucs!!!

  10. jmarkbuc Says:

Let’s assume there will be a football season…..

  11. J Says:

Romo and Michaels 3 games, Aikman and Buck 4 games.

  12. J Says:

    Conklin is gone son.

  13. JameisWin55 Says:

We need to sign Ha Ha at safety and Daryl Williams at RT I hope Licht doesn’t pull a Mike Dikta Ricky Williams Draft and chill on his Tom Brady signing we still have areas to improve to be champions!

  14. '79 Defense Says:

“If there is a football season.”

    Wouldnt’t that be Buc luck?

  15. Aceofaerospace Says:

Sure is a bunch of new people on this site

  16. BucMan13 Says:

What about the Todd Gurley rumors?

  17. Joe Says:

What about the Todd Gurley rumors?

When someone credible has it, Joe will write about it.

Thus far, only guys Joe has never heard of before writing on sites Joe has never seen before and local (not Tampa Bay) radio guys have mentioned it.

Joe isn’t trying to diss radio guys in any way but many radio guys — not all — are only concerned with catching listeners’ attention and not accuracy.

When someone Joe find credible has it, Joe will write about it.

Been a fan since ’76…nothing would surprise me.

  19. Kansas95Buc Says:

I said it once and I’ll say it again, we are just paying for Brady’s retirement tour. We’re not one player away from winning a championship, we have multiple holes to fill. It appears that every time we get a big name FA we always overpay. I know a lot of folk don’t like tmax but I’m starting to think that he might be right about the owners not knowing what they are doing. I want this team to win but it seem like we do thing backwards here, just my 2 cents

  20. celly Says:

I’d rather have Melvin Gordon than Gurley.

  21. 813bucboi Says:

whats up with trent williams?….doesnt he want out of WASH?….send them a 4th round pick, sign carlos hyde and leonard floyd….

    draft OL or kinlaw-R1
    isaiah wilson R3
    l.perine or aj dillion R4

    we cooking with gas!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  22. Kansas95Buc Says:

How come my comment got deleted? Was it because I agreed with tmax about something lol

  23. SteveK Says:

Do you see us signing some FAs at bargain prices once Brady signs?

I’d love to make a play for Clowney or someone major of their market shrinks up and we can get a one year deal.

Sad to see Nassib go, but for that amount of money, get a full blown game wrecker.

  24. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Todd Gurley is done. He was great at Georgia…got hurt…and gave a few exceptional years to the Rams. Plus his contract is tainted like David Johnson’s aka poison pill/lead balloon. Maybe Bill O’ Brien wants Gurley…

  25. rrsrq Says:

Waiting on that Malcolm Jenkins and Chris Thomas or Dion Lewis

  26. WestChap Says:

Its a new day in the bay so I’m trying to let go of a few obsessions now that the J-train has finally left town… but, any way we could send Donovan to Washington for Williams? There are plenty of people who seem to think Donovan is good at LT… even if I’m not one. Swap gives us room to pay Williams and gives Washington a starter who they can cut next year without cap hit if he doesn’t play with effort every down. Maybe?

  27. Mike Johnson Says:

7/10 or 12 primetime games mean absolutely nothing..I f you are losing them

  28. boldnewera Says:

“When someone…finds credible has it, will write about it.”

Cause the Sporting News and Bleached Report, aren’t “credible”? Pretttty sure B/R been on here a bunch. They both have it.

But John Gilmore, Lombardi, Becht, Beckles…

    Puzzling….nevermind Todd’s Twitter feed.

    Sporting News and Bleacher Report.

  29. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

That is really hard to imagine, isn’t it?
    COOL as HELL.

Thank GOD we are fixing the uniforms…

    “Sign Conklin for RT”

I think the Browns got him.

  31. Bucs Guy Says:

I hope there are less Mon/Thur/Sun night games. They go too late for those of us with early jobs. I would prefer 3 or 4 max. Remember how sick you were of seeing the same teams always?

  32. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    BucMan13 Says:
    “What the Todd Gurley rumors?”

Really hoping there is nothing to them. I just don’t want to risk big money on Gurley, with his health issues.

@doosh it doesnt really matter what you can accept. The bucs wont be calling you for ideas when the contract gets written up. I love that it bothers you all. I love it. Told you clowns weeks ago, hed be signed. Guess I was right and you continue to be wrong

  36. boldnewera Says:

$4.65 mill for Gurley 2020 in trade. Go read Duh thread comments.

Bargain basement price. Zero guaranteed cash after that.

No “health issues”. Left knee slightly degenerative, needs load management.

  38. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

I bet HARD KNOCKS wishes they had not already had a BUCS season.
    Can you imagine?

    Brady & B.A.

That would be amazing to get an insider view of.

  39. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

Thanks for throwing that out there, man. I appreciate the clarifications. At that price, it is definitely more intriguing.

  40. Chris K Says:

This is what you get when you have America’s Quarterback Mr. Tom Brady!

    Aaaaand that matters why??!

It matters because many people will choose to watch certain games depending on the broadcasting team. If it didn’t then Tony Romo wouldn’t be making more money talking about football than playing it.

I only watched one MNF game during the regular season because their broadcast team is terrible.

  44. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Anyone who thinks that Tom Brady came here to collect a paycheck and then retire does NOT know Tom Brady and has clearly not been paying attention over the past 20 years.

Brady is out to prove that he CAN win without Belicheat – and HATES to lose. He is the ultimate competitor and will immediately change the culture here. We may not make the playoffs 1st year, but you can be damn sure it will not be because Brady is “collecting a paycheck”.

  45. Swampbuc Says:

When the Schmucks get pasted in the first overhyped Bradygate Deflategate game after Brady goes out with a separated shoulder and concussion after the fist series, it’s back to Stockton and Drooehl.

  46. Swampbuc Says:

Doesn’t anyone realize the dude is ancient and in significant decline?

  47. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Wow! Nick Foles traded to Bears. Where is Jameis going….Chargers?

  48. miken Says:

Lots of Primetime… I love it! Talk about Mr. entertainment, just without the record breaking turnovers.

  49. 813bucboi Says:

    foles to the bears…lol….

    jags in full rebuild mode….

licht needs to get on the phone and see if j.taylor or cam robinson are available….we need a RT….

JW might be out the league in 2020…..lol…i think CAM going to the chargers….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  50. H8JWLVEBUCS Says:

Damn now I have to change my NAME but im ok with that now that turnover king is gone.

  51. BucsFIRE Says:

    Dave Says:

You are an annoying dweeb, and your posts stink.
    This is not true.

    Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:
“Wow! Nick Foles traded to Bears. Where is Jameis going….Chargers?”

My brother is a huge BEARS fan and does not want Foles at ALL. He actually was really hoping for Jameis.

  53. Dave Says:

Bucs fire your Momma sucks it

  54. Craig Says:

I think Brady should help call the draft. That is where a RB should be gotten and Brady knows who he could play with.

He will make the Bucs ready for prime time, like Jameis never could. Jameis always melted down before a national audience

  55. Clw JB Says:

5 to 7 very possible- Packers, Chiefs, Saints(2) probably not both games, Raiders, Rams

Maybe Vikings/Bears in a flex late in the season to 7

Falcons(2)/Lions/Giants/Panthers(2)/Broncos/Chargers – none of these appear to have much star power…

Positive energy to the universe, the season goes on as planned – plenty of time to get under control by June/July and get camp going – the rest can be done relatively virtually…

  56. stpetebucsfan Says:

The next couple of months will determine whether or not we have a season.

If enough of us take this seriously enough to “flatten the curve” we could be out of it by mid summer. If that works out just a little delay and only one PS game.

If not we start moving everything back.

If we can start by October 1st I think we can get in a full season by moving the SB here back to March or even April. Let’s hope. I do not wish to lose the entire season but I hope we don’t simply cobble something together.
